The frequency of patches after an Issue laucnh always increases. And because we have fixes brought to the Mission Architect server with each fix, it means we have to do it simultaneously with North America and make sure we have the people with the skills to deal with potential publishing issues.
This in turns explains why it can't be done early in the morning in Europe since all our tech people are in North America.
This shouldn't leave you all with no information though, but on this occasion, we had no one able to post updates during this extended maintenance. We will be working on a solution for future maintenances.

No. But these were not usual circumstances and we will try and make sure we have processes in place to account for this type of occurrences.

People keep ranting about how the servers keep going down, but they need to realise that Issues are never perfect when they're released. Sometimes it can take devs a couple of weeks/months after release to get the Issue perfect.
because now that Avatea is in the US as well, she's not getting up at 4AM just to post on our forums. I don't mean to be cynical, and you're doing an absolutely fantastic job Avatea but I knew this would happen due to the time differences. We just have to lump it, but if the US servers were taken down at 3pm for maintenance there'd be screams of blue murder on the US forums!

Unfortunately I wasn't in the office on Friday and therefore wasn't available to post any updates. There were a sequence of once-off events that occurred and unfortunately because they all happened within the same 24 hour time period we weren't able to post any updates.
We do, however, agree that this was not a good thing, and we're currently working on a new procedure to be followed should anything similar occur in future. This new procedure should prevent a complete lack of information from happening again.
That is good to hear, Ghostraptor! Some updates on when we can use our bases again would be nice (gmotd urge us to not touch anything and I don't want our base to get corrupt again)

Cross your fingers - it should be fixed with today's patch.
I know it isnt gamebusting GR, but is the chat bug being fixed by any chance? you know the annoying one that shows which key you have binded for certain channels.

Not being so familiar with MMO's I must say NCSoft does an amazing job keeping players up to speed. At least compared to AOC (which is the only other MMO I played) where we were mostly left in the dark for about 6 months from release. I am fully satisfied with feedback from the team. Thanks from one happy camper for being a responsive company.

You clearly missed out on the last few downtimes then. 30 minutes before server shutdown, in-game only. You're a happy camper by timing and happenstance only, sadly.
Time is relative! And so is perception.
By that i mean, it depends what your scale of good and bad is and if you live with quick up to date responses all your life you don't know how bad it could be. Or say complain when you get M.A because there's not enough content for a released patch... There are many games out there that don't even get patches anymore or struggle with 3 developers or don't advertise at all (like no games on shelf
