erm, whats happening with power customization

whats up with the 54 month vet reward? why is tht so c rap have they ran out of ideas? if so wjhy not ask-- wait for it.....the players

i know this is future talk, but any chance of us knowing if ur at least thinking about adding TFs to villains like heroes have. posi, cit, num etc

I second the notion of the question 'how comes we barely get any dev interaction in the EU?' and don't give me that differen't timezones rubbish, going on the US forums, BaBs is around during the wee hours!*

*this statement is more jokey than vitriolic I assure you

Onto a slightly more likely to be asked and answered question.

Are they atleast 'considering' a proper Taskforce revamp since the original Taskforce commander taskforces are very, very, very poor compared to the the LGTF, STF or ITF?

Ask them when the Villains will get TF to fill in gaps (30-35 and 40+) And yes I know it's development, but still.

More interaction would be great too.

NPC's in RWZ, right?

And the Shadow Shards. I'm going to spend a lot of time this weekend trawling around looking for myself, and when I see it... oh, damn, that'll be weird.

Anyways, much agreement that we don't see huge amounts of Dev contact on this side of the pond. While the EU generates less income than the US, I'm pretty sure that we raise some interesting points and questions, which it wouldn't hurt for the Devs to answer if they are able. And we're nicer than the US players.

Now, I know that the Devs get sent updates on what the heck we're talking about, and that's great, but it really does feel like we're the poor cousins at times.*

* - None of the above comments necessarily apply to War Witch, who is a star and a legend and just plain FUN.

Umm... only one question from me:
Why, statistical, the bugs/suggestions that players mention on the US boards are solved significantly faster that if we /bugged them?

Listen to the Podcast, Doc - yes, they are! (Considering, at least)

Doh, shows what I get for not listening to those Podcasts.

Hmmm...shall have to think of other non-developement questions besides the 'why don't we see you' one.

alrighty, got a few.

1) What is each developers favourite enemy group?

2) How long have they worked in their respective fields?

3) Can any of them dance (this would explain the awful dance emotes if they can't)?

4) Do they regret some of the 'design choices' made early on in developement, I.E. The Positron (or general) taskforce design, the 'oh-[censored] we should have included that at the start but didn't think of it' idea of power customisation which is now to hard to work into the game thanks to the grumpy engine (not a go at them just the fact it was apparently a surprise that to the devs we wanted power customisation at all it seems) and so on.

4) What have been the highs of their time working on City of Heroes/villains?

Hmm...

Further non-development questions, other than the ubiquitous 'Pay us some attention, plz!'...

5) What is your favourite beer?

6) Are any of you planning to come over to the NCE Minicon 2 next year? If so, who?

7) Have any of you ever snuck into the EU servers? Got an account on the EU servers?

8) If you could work for any developer bar NCSoft, who would it be, and why?

9) What is the one thing you HATE the players asking, or asking for, most?

What's the most serendiptious design decision that's been made for CoX?

What's the most unfortunate one?

Boxers or briefs?

If you started over again on CoX today, what would you do differently?

Does Nemesis Automatons dream of clockwork sheep?

What feature do you most regret having to leave out of CoH?

You rock!

So I may add a new question:
Any Blade Runner references in game?

Any plans to allow customisation of travel powers?

I for one would not mind some other forms of fly and jump animation never use TP on the whole but that too, rocket boots and jump boots go somewhat in the right direction especially for Tec/Inventions, the raptors show how it could go forward a few different models to choose from in the costume creator …jobs done

Can we expect more maps / terrain like the Cimerora area makes a nice change to “climb” a mountain.

Is there a long term battle plan for COX in light of what’s looming on the horizon

If a weeble wobbles does it really not fall down?

Why did the Villains epics not have a travel power?

Why is it that when you reach into a box of chocolates some gits been there and had all the soft centres?

Oh, I almost forgot the most important question:

Emacs or vi?

Well, depending on what you can get out of NCNC, I believe quite a few of us would like some reassurance thus;

With reviews like the one currently in PCgaming giving CoH:Midnight hour 6/10, I would like to ask if NCNC have any plans to implement a bit of graphical shineyness back into the original zones/models/maps.

Gamers magazines all now almost without exception mention CoH as beginning to show its age and I'm concerned as a subscriber how Champions and DC Online are going to grab a market share of the MMO market that I feel hasn't been capitalised on to date.
If you are, as a studio not going to develop CoX II - you are going to have to update the graphics or consider a painful but necessary engine update in the next couple of years to remain attractive to those who have not seen the light, unfortunately eye-candy still means too much to too many.

Also, (Now you own all the IP) Merchandise please!.

Ps: With respect, Please enough with the PvP tinkering every Issue - I realise its to address issues but we need real 'bread 'n' butter' basic improvements to the intial gamezones/maps to attract newcomers to CoX, The PvP is not going to interest or affect newcomers.

Also, please ask If NCNC have any objections to the previous designs on 'Mother's Forumite shop Ideas' being transplanted to a tribute 'City of Kittenz' merchandise store. All appropriate IP will be skirted around, eg: no imagery from IP and no names from IP. All benefits will also go to a charity such as 'Draw the World' - I wish to help bring merchandise to players and have been promised several times from several moderators that you would ask Brian Clayton and ...nothing.
I appreciate you are working on your own designs for t-shirts but would like a definitive answer from the powers that be if possible, seeing as though you are going all the way over there. Thanks.

[EDIT]: PPs: A big thumbs up for all the design direction and implementation since Positron took over, we've all noticed the difference - Welldone guys.

Enjoy your trip.

...also, have a look at Detective Junkers outside the PCPD in Founders and read his bio...

My questions:

- What happened with the Nemesis horse mounts seen in the Pocket D dance party grabs last year - and are there plans for letting players mount up on vehicles (with fins)?

- Just how many bad hero movies do they have on DVD in the office?

- Why aren't all the Rikti called John?

- When will there be more Princess Bride references in game - particularly random ROUS attacks in sewer missions?

- Why do they only do In'n'Out in CA?

Is it time for the dance of joy yet?

Only one or two questions for me.

Firstly is, Is there any sort of ETA on when the Widows will be able to get there Hipcapes as they was said to be released not long after Issue 12 was released.

Secondary Is it possible to find out How many Issues the Devs plan to do the Powers swap around and can we expect some very good ones for the Future.

((Heres hoping for Broadsword for Brutes))

Not to derail the thread, but I think BS for Brutes is pretty likely in the same issue as shields.

So, I thought I'd let you all know that next week we'll (Palladium, Kerensky, Avatea and myself) all be heading over to visit NCNC for a wonderful week of meetings and discussions and suchlike.

So........... the first part of what he said!

"Well, they found my diary today.
They were appropriately appalled
at the discovery of the eight victims
They're now putting it all together.
Women wrapped in silk
with one leg missing
Eight legs, one body, silk,
spider, brilliant!"
