Funniest for me was someone dinging 50 in the middle of the photo for Defiant several months ago, stood on the steps of City Hall!

Best one I've heard of is dinging 50 in Atlas Park which must've been fighting one of the event GMs; Eochai or the Winter Lord.
Any GM would be good; Ideon leveled his troller Pirea fighting one of the Devouring Earth GMs on Monster Island.
Failing that it would be an A-V battle of some sort.

My favourite level 50 ding was Fire Guardian's. He'd taken so long to level, and we finally got enough people together to do the Praetorian arc - although, in true FG style, he dinged off of one of Dominatrix's gimps.

It wasn't even my arrest, it was Quilty's. 
And sadly, even though I have the Praetorian arc on my level 47 blaster now, nobody's interested in doing it.

Union. Admittedly, there's only the last mission left, but it's a duo AV, so there should be some good XP in there.
I was exceptionally anal about where I dinged. Even though I had farm invites coming out of my ears, I wanted my first 50, and on my signature character no less to be in good company, with friends, having fun.
We duly did that taking down Chimera and his cronies. It was an awesome night.

) dinged on a lowley minion halfway through a story arc. Why couldn't I have dinged when I saved the Statesman?

I've found as the 50s have passed I've gotten less particular about where they happen. I don't think I ever managed to set an alt up to ding just at the exact moment an AV was defeated but having friends around is generally the way to go.
Saying that on my defender I did it in an 8 man PuG after 2am. I hadn't planned (or rather I hadn't hoped) to make it that night, but kept plugging away. I was surprised and delighted when the team leader sent me a tell asked me was I planning on staying up to hit 50 and when I said I would if I could said he had planned to go to bed but would keep going until I did. It wasn't something I expected from a PuG.
My main dinged on the Lady Grey TF, saving the world and surrounded by the people I gained most of those 50 levels with. Then we went and danced in Atlas

My first 50 ding was on Dreck's map. Not on a random mob during a farm, but from Dreck himself. Somehow that felt incredibly right

Oh... all of these sound so very cool. My first (and only) 50 dinged the big one on coming out from a routine Malta mission in Peregrine. I didn't even see it because of the darned loading screen.

Assuming we're talking about CoH, and not CoV...
In the Cape mission's always good.
Or you could try for the headache that is dinging simultaneously with 7 other people off an AV... Did that once, never again. My brain hurt for a week after organising that one. (it was Siege on the tower map, for anyone remotely interested)
You could try for a ding off Recluse in the STF, I suppose. But that may require you to sit out most of the TF while the rest of the TF is cleared and the minions/towers/flier dealt with.
Assuming you've not got it already, ding from the XP off the Exloration badge on top of city hall in Atlas?
There's all sorts of stupid ways to hit 50

Dinged my first 50 against Diabolique in that map with the graveyard. I was fighting her af the time, so it couldve been her or one of her minions. She runs around a lot meaning you pick up all sorts of enemies.

Get about 2000 XP away, have a contact on call, and auto complete a mission in a big gathering (Ie/ A Rikti Raid, a Costume Contest in Atlas)
Sadly my last two level 50s dinged in their farm map, my next fifty is about half a level away, I want to ding somewhere nice.
What in your opinion is the best way to ding 50 and where would you do it?
