Indeed.
When you have NPC banes attacking the player, there are usually lots of banes and few players, so there is a good chance that the banes will get a knockdown on a player.
When you have player banes attacking NPCs there are usually few players and lots of mobs, so the chance of the banes getting KBs on a significant number of mobs is low. The KB probability is too low on bane spider attacks.

It's the situation of the bane with placate at 60s : a stalker without as (same damages, same placate, same def, a little more hp but less mezz protections...).
I really don't see the difference with a under-stalker. THe three other ats present interesting powers mix, but the bane...
what you also have to take into account is Assassin strike is unresisted whereas Executioner strike is resisted and since its smashing damage with a hint of toxic, 40+ is gonna be hell.

AS isn't actuall unresisted in PvE if i remember what Castle said. It'll still bounce off high Res like NPC's that use Unstoppable etc... The extra portion is just that, a massive extra portion of damage.
ok take the ammount of times that a foe is able to resist what should be Irresistable damage, then have a look that Bane Spider Executioner strike IS resisted by all that can resist the type and do the math.
we have a creature that has low shielding, low HP's and less damage than a stalker that finds its attacks for the most part resisted whereas stalkers only have a FEW baddies that resist your AS.
exception not the rule, maybe Banes were introduced so that Stalkers didnt feel bad any more....that a class was even worse than they are :P *joke* I jest I really do love my Bane and actually like it more than my Main Stalker, but I do want Banes at least given some love pre-release.

Katana, axe, stone, Mercs, SS, claw etc etc. Ok, they have abilities to 'increase' their strength, so a Tanker with SL would be better example
I stick to my point, they made the big mistake of making 1 class 'nice to have' - the soldiers, and 1 class that nearly has the 'OMG 8 team PWN ALL' tag.

Current sl based ats deal bigger damages (with as, fury or pets, or even random crits) or/and have better survivability (higher hp and/or res and/or def).
which again is sad since we have less damage we can deal anyway.

I won't damn the devs 10 miles beyond hell, but please plixy plox buff them. Again, nice points made, and i actually never thought about the res to smashing/lethal and KB that mobs get 40+. Thanks for giving me something else to think about, i hope it was brought to the devs attention as well!.
I hope it won't get WORSE as i go 40+.
The is no unresistable damage done by players in PvE. If there was unresistable damage you would be able to destroy things not intended to be destroyed, or only by certain powers, like fires and oil slicks.
I really should do something about this signature.
Not to mention it would completely negate things like Unstoppable.
You will never get unresistable attacks in PvE, Castle has posted recently saying as much.

I have tried a few tactics while playing as my bane, like staying at distance and shooting to draw them in then exec strike to finish them off, that as before results in lots of people rushing in and pummelling me, tried the rush in an Exec strike, then placate then pulvarise then bash which while leaves me open to attack strangely works better than the first option

That's some good trial and error, but still has ANYONE found a solid playstyle that lets banes absolutely mow down a bunch of mobs whilst still standing/with a degree of safety?
Just treat it like a blapper with mez protection and semi-decent Defence.
Wide Area Webnade is alright too. I wouldn't rely that much on Stealth except for Crits TBH.

why should i have to team to survive? that's the problem with banes, their soloability, any AT is remotely good in a team.
That be what Stalkobot said. There isn't (at least in a few eyes) a solid playstyle for you to combat a mob with a degree of safety unless it is with [X] covering your buttocks.

ALL AT's should be able to solo effectively, if they can't, NCNC suck at catering to the needs of different types of players.

I'm not saying they're built for teamplay, I'm just curious if the Devs have stated either way, like they did with the 10 base ATs in the manuals.

Its very difficult to cater to each and every of the 140+ thousand people in the game. Thats a good thing though as, that can mean in hearing some peoples ideas on what they wanted they can come up with new ideas...a bit like speculation, speculation on whats upcoming can be used to improve things before people see things.
To be fair, there are power pools and a million ways to slot but then you have to make compromises for the sake of being balanced with other people in PvE. In PvP you might as well rewrite the whole game to create balance.

NWs are not overpowered, they are being compared to banes as both are melee centric but this is wrong, there are fortunatas and crabs to consider also and in that context NWs, Fortunatas and Crabs are all competitive with each other, banes are not.
BU was drafted into the NW powerset very recently, I wouldnt be suprised if something else pops up for banes
