I am a bit disappointed in this as well.
Ooo, I can finally reroll my FF/NRG as the FF/AR she was meant to be!
The only thing we don't know is if Defender's Trap debuff/buff values are the same as MM and Corrs. If that's the case, then I don't think /Trap will be a popular Defender set, the same reason why Corr/Trap is kinda rare (it was awesome until they nerfed Poison Trap).
What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.

I'm honestly a bit surprised that we're getting Traps. It's a VERY pleasant surprise, nonetheless.
I agree with Jib though. Trapfenders will likely be pretty rare once the "Oooh, shiny!" novelty passes.

The statistical correlation between defender primary popularity and healing can't be overstated. It's ginormous. So unless there are Healing Bombs we don't know about, we won't see much Traps after the first week of Issue 16.
Still, if it's just a handful of forum people playing Traps in the long run, that's A-O-K with me.

What about Triage Beacon? - Especially if it's regen value is greater for defenders say 200% base?
If Traps buff/debuff values are greater than for corruptor/mm's then it will be an awesome set, even with the nerfed poison trap. If not, then people will complain until it gets a buff.

Actually it depends on the numbers key Traps powers get. If they get a nice Defender boost to Acid and FFG, I'll go that way, otherwise Arch/Traps Corr.

My ( wholly unsubstantiated ) hope is that they'll decide to make Triage Beacon mobile, for Defenders and everyone else. Fully slotted, it's a pretty good power for Masterminds with ranged pets who all stay in the aura. The real weakness of TB is that unless you sit in one spot, you don't get much from it.

toe bombing at lvl 26 is nice. It will definitely be a very solo friendly defender primary, which is always nice to be able to toss around when people gripe about not being able to solo their defenders well.
I hope they actually bothered to redo some of the pseudo pets to use more AT appropriate numbers and while they are at it Corrs could use a review on some of the powers as well.

Well considering most of Traps effects come in the form of pets (and not just pseudopets, but actual targetable pets that show up in a pet window) they'll probably have the same effects.
Unless of course a new set of "pets" is created specifically for Defender Traps, with higher values

You all should pray that Castle makes you new pseudo pets. Otherwise you'll be doing Corr level debuffs with half the damage and no Scourge.
