I for one would welcome a buff to corr traps. It would be one of the first times I've been actively playing a set that would see a positive change. The last time was my fire armor brute when they changed healing flames.

Yeah, this Defender Trap could be the reason for the dev to look at Trap again. I mean it takes them 3-4 years to finally realize that Corruptor is paying more endurance. That wasn't a "buff", it was a "fix".
Well, hopefully Defender players can get the dev to buff Traps for Corr/Defender. MM's version is fine.
What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.
I love the idea of traps... but even as a hero... I'm slightly sad that we cant use detonator. I can see the pitch for it now!

Detonation could be set to be a "yes/no" buff. It could be called "self-sacrfice" or something...lolz.

Or find some way of reducing its recharge time and endurance cost so you can redeploy it as you go.
Regeneration Aura: +500% regen for 90s, 500s recharge, 26 end cost
Triage Beacon: +150% regen for 90s, 200s recharge, 13 end cost
Based on a rough comparison to Regeneration Aura, a reduction in Triage Beacon's base recharge to 150s and base end cost to 7.8, for all ATs, should be fine. No need to change the buff, duration, or pet limit to compensate. 30% of the effect, 30% of the recharge and end cost, fair right?

Sheesh, from the sound of this thread it's like Traps will have the first defender primary powers ever to not be better for defenders than for other ATs.
But it's a good point. Let's see how the set changes in a direct port with new defender-scaled pets, and work from there.
Web Grenade: 25% more immobilize duration, -62.5% rechspd/runspd instead of -50%
Caltrops: -100% runspd instead of -80%
Acid Mortar: -27% resist instead of -20%, -25% or -33% defense instead of -20% (depending on whether we use corruptors or masterminds as the "base")
FFG: +13% defense instead of +10%, 33% more status protection magnitude
Poison Trap/Poison Gas: 25% more hold duration, -37.5% recharge instead of -30%
Seeker Drones/FlashPulse: 25% more stun duration, -6% or -8% tohit instead of -5% (depending on corruptor/mastermind "base"), -25% or -33% damage instead of -20% (ditto)
... so, yeah, I can see how new scaled pets are going to be important. Without them, the only thing that gets better for defenders in a direct port is Web Grenade.

Indeed. I had a short-lived joke character called Rambo 20X6 who was a petless Bots/TA MM. And while Assault Rifle just isn't the same, I'd consider rolling him again as a Defender just for kicks.

I'm definitely going to make a traps/* as soon as I16 comes out but I am really curious to see what the devs do with the set. After having a lvl 40 AR/traps corruptor I am a big fan of traps but I am also very aware of its weaknesses. Early on a traps defender will probably play a lot like a weak /devices blaster the set really doesnt take off until u get acid mortar and FFG imo. If its a straight port of the corruptor version, traps will be pretty lackluster.

Haven't played my other trap toons since the change to poision trap. I really liked the set before the change, but without the hold from poision I didn't seem to have the protection I did before the change.

Agreed. If it was really just procs that were the issue there were better ways to deal with that rather than breaking the entire power. Now you're lucky if it manages to hold minions even.
Several months later and it's still broken, just as expected. Of course since it was a little-used set to begin with any chance of a real fix is probably several issues away. Rather surprises me that Defenders are getting it ported over at all.
Let's not forget that in it's current form, Traps isn't too bad.
Issue 16: Panic in Atlas Park as virtual heroes are confronted with a sudden influx of non-healer defenders. WILL FARMING SURVIVE?

With my current slotting I can still hold/migrate a lot of damage, but not like I could before the change and needs a lot more slots and different IOs. Yes the procs broke the set. I agree with Amy_Amp, the set is still good, just not the glory I used to have with the set.
