Agreed. If it was really just procs that were the issue there were better ways to deal with that rather than breaking the entire power. Now you're lucky if it manages to hold minions even.
Several months later and it's still broken, just as expected. Of course since it was a little-used set to begin with any chance of a real fix is probably several issues away. Rather surprises me that Defenders are getting it ported over at all.

With my current slotting I can still hold/migrate a lot of damage, but not like I could before the change and needs a lot more slots and different IOs. Yes the procs broke the set. I agree with Amy_Amp, the set is still good, just not the glory I used to have with the set.

It's the same reason I don't play my old Invuln toons anymore or have rolled any new ones since issue 5: I can't stop thinking about how much more awesome they used to be and it gets depressing to play them after having their wings clipped.

I highly doubt PT will get fixed back to it's previous glory, but there's no way in Hell for Castle to port the powers as is from a numbers point of view.

Afterall, it took them 4 years to figure out Corruptor is paying 25% more endurance.....
What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.
A few months back I wanted a Traps/AR defender as a good version of my main (See sig). But with Rogue coming up, and 49+ levels of AR/Trap behind me, I doubt that I'll be making one anytime soon. The set is really great once you get it up there with some IO bonues though. The only thing thats concerning is the amount of damage the defender version of AR will do. The Corruptor version feels ultra weak at the lower levels.
All of you dreaming of making traps/sonic, thinking about using siren's song to drop trip mines and time bombs, need to realize that the acid mortar is one of the best powers in the whole set which will DOT them all awake instantly.
Oh, and count me in for voting on a traps buff, all versions. Porting direct numbers would be a horrible idea, and with poison gas trap being extremely limited in use (just stop the procs, and give us back the rest of it how it was!) I worry that this set will be ignored more than sonic resonance.
I still believe in making Triage Beacon and Spirit Tree (which are identical outside of graphics) also grant +recovery, as they are both still thematic with that buff and offers more slotting options on this slow recharging power.

A +Recovery power... that would be available at level 2?
Um... yeah... I'm think that's not going to happen.
Now, I would like to see if they make Defender's Triage Beacon a regular minor heal, rather than just a regen buff. Like the difference between Soothing Aura and Suppress Pain.
Beyond that... well, number have to be brought up to Defender levels... otherwise there really would be no reason to play this.
They should also make the chance for a hold in the Poison Trap stronger... but that needs to be an across the board change.
Oh, and Time Bomb should not be brought over. It's useless as it is, and would be even more so on a Defender. I am really hoping to get some other kind of Buff or Debuff pet instead... but I'm afraid I will be dissapointed.
(Of course, I'm all for replacing Time Bomb on Corruptors with something else, too...)

The only bad thing about adjusting the buff values up is that the damage values for trip and time mine would probably come down as well. The current trip mine would be a nice combo in a tripmine,nuke toebomb combo that would actually kill a lot of mobs without a lot of self buffing / mob debuffing beforehand.

Or find some way of reducing its recharge time and endurance cost so you can redeploy it as you go.
Regeneration Aura: +500% regen for 90s, 500s recharge, 26 end cost
Triage Beacon: +150% regen for 90s, 200s recharge, 13 end cost
Based on a rough comparison to Regeneration Aura, a reduction in Triage Beacon's base recharge to 150s and base end cost to 7.8, for all ATs, should be fine. No need to change the buff, duration, or pet limit to compensate. 30% of the effect, 30% of the recharge and end cost, fair right?

Fair, except Regeneration Aura is a persistent buff. After using it, your team has the buff for 90 seconds. An immobile Triage Beacon means that the team gets the weaker buff for...I dunno, 30-45 seconds tops? Definitely less on a decent team. The only time I see immobile Triage Beacon providing full benefit is on a slow team farming lol54 bosses. *shrug*

Traps superteams were popular villain-side a couple years back. 8 FFG is only the tip of the iceberg. Just wait till you see what multiple acid mortars do. Heck, even the triage isn't bad when you rotate who is placing them and have a couple down every fight.
btw, 8 FFG makes your screen look like a fishbowl. Hope you don't mind that.

If you're on a decent team there isn't much need for Triage Beacon is there?
In my experience it shines on drawn out fights because chances are the team is sitting in one spot for the duration.
The Lockdown +2 mag hold proc seems to do very, very well in poison trap. I have it in my bots traps and I'm fairly happy. The proc goes off often, its great to see an entire mob stunned in those little electric bubbles.
If they tweak defender traps appropriately to justify it as a primary..I'm rolling one. The set has potential to make a very nice solo defender. I'm not so sure about AR though.
