    My thoughts exactly. That power of could be something simple like quickness or a passive resist but id rather it be some kind of survival tool.

  3. Other than supporting the option for weapons or no weapons in all of the fire,ice and stone melee attacks, I would like to suggest animated textures on costume parts similar to the strobing lights on the Arachnos crab helmets but applied to chest pieces, gloves, boots and any other pieces.

    These could represent flashing buttons on tech pieces or lightning or flames actually on the costume piece itself instead of a separate aura.

    Jet or regular back packs as an option for a back piece, which I do not know why we have not gotten already.

    Lastly an option for alternate, dedicated weapons and animations for most of the assault rifle powers including the shotgun for the shotgun and beanbag powers, grenade launcher for the M30 and an alternate beanbag power and animation, flamethrower using the fire extinguisher animation and the gatling gun for the full auto power. I realize this would not be popular with everyone because of the animation time but at least give us the option.
  4. I did not notice this until I teamed with an Illusion controller who like to use confuse... Don't get me wrong, normally I like confuse, but now its like a single target version of the old fear powers. The confused mob may take one shot at his former ally before taking off for the hills. Very annoying.
  5. I remember reading that assault rifle was originally going to be called "Weapon mastery" or something similar and that each power would actually make use of a different weapon. How about having alternate animations for most of the assault rifle set that feature alternate weapon animations already in the game.

    A few examples...

    M 30 grenade could pull out the M16 clone or a separate rotary grenade launcher.

    Sniper rifle could actually bring out a sniper rifle.

    Flame thrower and ignite could use the council flamethrower animation or the fire extinguisher animation.

    Shotgun and beanbag could pull out the shotgun model.

    Last but not least full auto could use the Council Gatling gun model and animation.


    On a different note could there be a random setting for some powers that have alternate animations to give more variety to fights?
  6. TC, I tried to create a Laser Rifle/ Traps defender as an alternate build for my lvl 50 MM and I wish you the best of luck. The only thing I want to warn you about, and you hinted at it already, is end use. Yes, you can get stamina and end rec boost from sets as well as end reduction in your IOs, but the end use will still be high.

    You may have to dial down your expectations if you expect to do the same things with this petless mm that you did with your corrupter for no other reason than you will need to carry around a lot of blue insps. if you expect to fight long, drawn out battles because the end use for your personal attacks is higher.

    While this character probably will not be created until after GR hits, I was thinking about creating a fire/trick arrow controller and had a few questions.

    First, about the debuffs from flash arrow and smoke:
    1. Do the to hit debuffs stack with each other for a approx. 15% to hit debuff when slotted?
    2. I have seen in patch notes from a while back that a part of the effect did not require a to hit check, was that the -perception and/or the to hit debuff?

    Will hot feet and the other AoEs automatically set off oil slick if it is exposed or is it as unpredictable to set off as I have heard with other sets?

    Is it very survivable in the 20s - 30s solo ( missions set at +1, and set for two or three players) without set defense bonuses?

    Blaze mastery is the only new set and that is to match fire aura and melee (and probably the fact that there were only three pools to begin with for scrappers)
  10. The only bad thing about adjusting the buff values up is that the damage values for trip and time mine would probably come down as well. The current trip mine would be a nice combo in a tripmine,nuke toebomb combo that would actually kill a lot of mobs without a lot of self buffing / mob debuffing beforehand.
  11. There needs to be small 3 or 4 power sets that cover holes which either none of the currents sets cover or eliminate story-breaking powers. This could be set so that minions and LTs would have a half set replace a full set, bosses require 2 half sets to replace a normal one, EBs require 3 and so on.

    Some examples:
    Laser Rifle: the three mastermind laser rifle powers without the robots to muck things up.

    Pistols: again the three mastermind dual pistol powers without the accompanying thugs. The example that comes to mind is a old west cowboy that would not summon a modern thug.

    Mastermind minions: The reverse of the above idea, for those that want the minions without the accompanying rifle,pistols etc.

    Leadership: The three toggles from the leadership pool and maybe vengence along for the ride.

    Resistance: the effect-less powers that many of the standard enemies have with a status resist tossed in for hard and/or extreme difficulty.

    Does anyone else share my opinion that these minisets would spice up the mobs that can be created? Can anyone else think of others that would be a good idea? Would the ideas cited above be over/underpowered?
