The CoH transactions' content wouldn't bother if it were another game, but one of CoH's big selling points (if not the biggest) is it's ability to customize your character.
[/ QUOTE ]
Now only if you wanna pay 50 or 60 bucks more.
[/ QUOTE ]What?

If you want the full line of customization you'd need to buy every booster which would run you 60+ dollars.

Heh, I'd stop wasting your breath Munki. Same tired debate is still the same and tired.
Before I leave the thread though, I'll only say two words...
Cryptic Bucks
Fair enough.
Eh, I'm kinda disappointed but that's just me.
Silly me. I came in here expecting a discussion on what's in the Super Science costume pack since I can't get to it until I go home. What was I thinking?
Oh, well, I guess I'll have to cut my work day short and go check it out for myself. I'll have to deal with not discussing it with other people, I suppose.

EDIT: On second thought I'd rather just not get into the exact same arguement we have on these forums every RMT pack update.

My god people, buy it or don't. The game came out with Collector's Editions with extra stuff if you wanted to pay more. If you don't want to buy it, then DON'T.
There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.
Hmmm. Mad Scientist costumes. Guess I can redesign Smiley Virus' outfit.

When *I* think of super science stuff, I instantly think of Mr. Fantastic, Galactus, The Watcher, Elders of the Universe,

Mr. Fantastic ok, but the others aren't science. They're Cosmic.

Yeah, I hate how they only give us three costume choices if we don't pony up the extra cash.

I do know of two old MUDs I played back in the early or mid 90's that were, and still are, 15 bucks a month to play. One gives you 1 character, the other gives you 3. Talk about overpriced. It's text! They get no updates!
[/ QUOTE ]
Dude, you played muds run by scam artists. I played a few free RP and RP/PK muds back before EQ caught me (whoa, this is a mud WITH GRAPHICS..and WHOA MORE THAN 150 PEOPLE OMG MASSIVE ONLINE!) and never paid a dime. Had active Admins and immortals who created new zones and were pretty active in the game doing events and stuff. I think the oldest PK one I played never shut down because of finances, just the guys who ran it together had fallings out.

100% agree with you. It's sad the direction this game has gone.

yes, how dare they pursue commercial viability by seeking profits.
the nerve of some people!
The Nethergoat Archive: all my memories, all my characters, all my thoughts on CoH...eventually.
My City Was Gone
60 bucks, only if you buy them all at once.
They do space these out over months time frame. So 10 bucks every 3 or so months, your having a freaking heart attack?
JJ
I delete more 50s, then you'll ever have.

More relevantly, they are "Natural." Whatever the Natural origin may have meant back in 2004, what it means now is characters whose powers come to them just for being who they are and aren't in any way special for them. Gulliver's size and strength would have been viewed as a natural super power in the land of little people, despite him being just an average man, say.

"Forget it, DumpleBerry. It's the forums."
</Chinatown reference>
It just occured to me that there isnt anything that tells you what gender a character is in the character info.
I never really thought about this before, because usually you can tell gender by the characters appearance/body type and sometimes the name.
But now with the new science booster super tailor feature, body type doesnt mean anything since we can now choose either male or female body types. (im sad no huge females though) So there isnt anyway to tell a characters original gender. unless you ask them lol.
Maybe we need to have the original gender put somewhere in the character info. This way other players can know that my character might have a male body type, but is actually female.
Or maybe it doesnt matter at all?
Its kinda cool being able to change your gender whenever you want.
I could make a male character and decide later on that my character concept would be better female, swap body types, and no one would know the difference. so this booster pack is kinda like a character sex change feature also lol.
whereas WOW makes you pay $15 each time you change your characters gender....this is just a one time fee

There is a world of difference between a well-reasoned argument against, or complaint with the game and the type of ranting that is common here, and has been displayed in this thread specifically.
Anyone not understanding that needs to seriously re-examine their understanding of social interactions.

I'm just kidding, and yes you are being over-the-top about forum posters disagreeing with the majority opinion.

I'll buy it tomorrow and start working on my 'Martian Manhunter' or 'Hulk/Sasquatch' homages.
