Umm, hello..... It isn't hard to level 1 - 50 in a just a few days running AE PL missions. he wouldn't even have needed to know what was happening to do it.

Looks like what you've got going there is what's known as a "blapper": A blaster focusing on melee attacks. Not exactly what I'd suggest for someone still learning the ropes, but Energy Manipulation is the best secondary for the concept... Still some flaws. Flurry is nigh useless. Whirlwind is fun, but also useless for any practical applications.

Yes I am serious.
Some folks just don't have the time or circumstances to get to 50 in AE in two hours like so many others do. So he took two days. Either way, in those two days AE messed him up, as it does to all the new players, he learned nothing and has come to the boards with an open mind.

He's not the first new player to think the whole game takes place in a building in Atlas Park. Sadly, he wont be the last.

But at least he came here wanting and willing to learn.

You seem to believe that if a person comes to the boards, asking about what missions to do, and sewer teams, then takes two days to get to 50 in AE can only mean, unequivocally, that the player is a troll and does in fact know what he is doing.

I think that is possible. I also think its possible that a new player can come to the game and level up dozens of toons to 50 in AE and have not one clue as to what an SO is, or that there are zones outside Atlas.

It is important to the game's future to help the new players so they'll feel like sticking around and paying that monthly subscription. Making accusations base on opinion rather then facts would make a much better deterrent then a welcome mat.

[/ QUOTE ]

Wait. I wasn't calling the OP anything. I think that the thread is a silly hoax because I'm expected to believe that he went from level six to level fifty (based on the OP's post history) in less than 48 hours, which I do not. I do believe you can go from 1-50 in a few weeks and know nothing about the game, in which case I'm sad because the game is pretty much screwed.

If in fact I'm wrong and he DID actually go from 1-50 in a couple of days, then I'm mad because the game is more broken than it ever has been, and that's saying something.

If this thread is a silly hoax (which is what I believe), then kudo's to the OP for presenting a grand bit of satire in a nice creative fasion.

If I'm wrong and he's sincere, then I'm glad he's learning the game.

Cheers.

This is the whole reason why I suggested removing the AE buildings from Atlas & Galaxy. That way players might actually learn a little bit before the brain-dead entity that is AE farming.

Sure I can hear arguments for "oh they will just go to other zones with AE buildings" blah blah etc. But at least anyone who is brand new to game won't be first faced with that nonsense that is the current AE.

Yer a little out of the loop. Getting to 50 from level 1 can be done in a day using the new farm factory that is AE, which the Devs gave us in issue 14. Using some very creative exploits it can be done in about 3 hours. Too few are we who wait for a change/fix.

No wonder there's so many *** threads about AE and Farming. I don't bother to read them since I've only stepped inside the AE a few times, and only done a farm twice.

What utter and total crap.

Where've you been? This is been a hot point of debate since AE came out. It has hugely abusive farmability flaws. The worst was closed up, it allowed people to go from 1-50 in just a few hours. There are still a few pretty bad farming exploits, though. And they're being looked at by the devs. The trick is finding a way to close the exploits as fast as they're found without hurting the legit players.

It could be difficult at times, but that just makes it more rewarding. You don't get better doing easy things, you get better doing hard things. It's when you're up against something that seems impossibly hard, and you keep going at it and trying harder, that it feels great when you finally win.

Believe it.
FYI, people could go from 1 to 50 in less than two days before we had AE or double XP weekends. With AE, people were going from 1 to 50 in a couple of hours before the toonsmackage. I see no reason to doubt that a random player could do it in two full days currently.

I've been around, I've just not been reading any threads with AE or Farm in the title. I seriously thought the 0-50 in a few days thing was hyperbole. Part of me still does. I've done an AE farm ingame maybe 3 times, and just didn't see what the big damn deal was, so I ignored it.

If the AE is really that exploitable, then IMO it's due to be deleted completely, or get as much of the nerf hammer as we got with the ED GDN AOE caps etc, because it is totally completely broken.

To all the people who are actively trying to help the OP, regardless of whether he needs it or not-

Thank you. You're what makes this game great-the willingness of the community to step up and help other players.

To everyone else-

Atlas, Galaxy, Kings Row, Mercy, and Port Oaks. The AE Tutorial contact should be raised to lv20-25 somewhere. And a diminishing-returns nerf to xp earned there wouldn't hurt.

People who want to play AE rather than the regular content because they've done it too many times have the in-game experience to leg it to Steel/Cap and can do it anyway. Someone lazy enough to farm is less likely to go all the way to Atlas/Mercy to herd a bunch of newbies into their pad-team though; that smacks of work.

Apparently it is that exploitable. Hence the farmrage and the angry farmers counter-raging.

yep no hyperbole going on there, I've personally seen people start a character and less than 8 hours later(went to, and came home from work) be 50 in Atlas Park. it actually is that broken...

Go in, check it out for yourself. Search for Hamidon in AE. Solo, I went from level 10 to 11 in 20 minutes without even trying on a Hami farm. This was while chatting with friends, stepping away to grab a snack, and only slotted with level 10 IOs. A full team would have ripped through and taken only a couple minutes to get levels.

Couple hours later they were 45.

Makes me wonder why I bothered since it just promoted their powerlevelling.
