why do i suck lol
thanks very much guys, i will defintatly roll a new char and relearn the game it is just SO HARD solo without ae, like i tried to do missions at the begining and i was struggling like crazy!
Also, you can't get any more enhancements right now, because your tray is full of level 1-3 ones.
You can either trash those (drag them to that little garbage can), or *sell* them. Obviously, low level ones aren't worth much. But at higher level (and higher quality) they get pretty good.
Basic enhancements can be sold to any of those Field Trainer npcs (like the ones standing near the level-up NPCs in Atlas/Galaxy/etc.) Dual and Single origin ones can also be sold to those guys, but you get the most inf if you sell them to the correct type of vendor.
(For example, a Magic single-origin enhancement will give the most inf when you sell it to a Magic Store.)
You need to clear out that tray before you can get any new enhancements.
(And.... doesn't the Ticket Vendor in AE sell enhancements, too?)

Well I am not gonna pile on to much but wow, PL city, but there is still hope if you are here asking quetsions. Take everyone heres advice and roll an alt so you can play through the first five to ten levels to get a fee for the game and then maybe go back to your level 50 and start working on your slotting and enhacements
You will learn alot in the tutorial and first few levels, and then you will have some knowledge to go back to your level 50 or do like many of us do, create a new hero/villain and play for a while and then create another and another, and you develop what we call alt-itis, very powerful disease in the CoX community affecting most of the population with no real cure....

It is hard solo for some archetypes if you aren't familiar with how the game works. Honestly for your new character I would suggest that you try a broadsword/regeneration scrapper. This is pretty much the easiest and most durable hero type at low levels. It's also quite powerful at high levels but it will allow you to solo without much of a problem even if you do make mistakes.
If it turns out that you don't like playing that particular character then the only thing you've lost is a few hours of time and you will have gained experience in the use of inspirations and enhancements.
Also just mention what server you are on and I'm sure one of us will be glad to jump in and team with you in order to show you the ropes.
Don't count your weasels before they pop dink!

My 1st. Video: Agent Martin in the new tutorial zone.
I'll just pipe in with my 2 cents.
There is no reason to do a respec trial, just go to a trainer and switch to 2nd build. Then you get to select your powers/ slots from lvl 1 again- Since you have spent no influence on enhancements in this build.
You can purchase lvl 35-50 enhancements in PI, Ritki War Zone, Cimerora AND with AE tickets. Even as a 4 yr vet I was still wowwed by a new player when they said they bought their SOs at AE. I just never thought of doing that myself. LOL

Team newb, team
Joking aside, teaming is a great way to get through the lower levels quickly. Not only do you get an XP bonus for being on teams, you learn about how other Archetypes and powersets function. It's a crash course in synergy that'll be invaluable throughout your CoX experience. Besides, you're playing an MMORPG. What's the point if you don't interact with others?
In the current post-apocalyptic world of the Mission Architect the ability to form your own teams is invaluable. Send tells to people and ask them if they'd like to join you for some missions. The more info you give 'em the more likely they'll be to join. Try something like "Hey there. I'm forming a lvl X team. Care to join?"
This is the best thread

This why we are doing new players' events this past week on Triumph. To the OP of this thread, they are giving you good advice. Follow it please and good luck.

While I do not disagree with your sentiment there are 2 points.
1. He got to this point by teaming. Someone teamed with him and PLed him, but did not tell him how things in the game work. It isn't really the PLing that hurts newbs, it is the lack of information they are given by the people giving them the boost. (That and their missing some very good stories in the regular game.)
2. It is entirely possible to start the game new and solo effectively, primarily using Scrappers and Tanks. There are times teaming is required, TFs and such, and it can be a lot of fun. But if you don't do those things requiring it, you can still have a fun time, including socially interacting on Global channels.

Azrael, in the beginning it's supposed to be hard, you are in essence, a Super Larvae.
You may have stated it and I missed it, but what server are you on? I, as well as the others here, have characters pretty much on every server. You willingness to start over from scratch an learn what the game is really about is encouraging, and I'd be more than happy to team with you (time permitting) and pass on what little knowledge I have learned during my time here.
i am on freedom, ign xAzraelx, thinking of going villain this time... is the COH tutorials or the COV tutorials more helpful for a n00b u think?
They both contain the same information. Red-side, a Brute is going to be you best solo option, something along the lines of Super Strength/Invulnerable or /Willpower, others will pop in with their recommendations.

Both are good for showing how things work on the redside and on the blueside. Like everyone is saying and I'm join in on this: do roll up an alt and do the CoH turorial and the play the alt up a few lvls.
Good luck and do not be afraid to ask more questions. We are glad to help you out.
Someone has mentioned it before but, a great deal of information can be found at Paragonwiki. (link to Starters Guide within the wiki)
Yes. The reason why we're recommending Scrappers (Hero) and Brutes (Villain) is because they are easier to solo. Both ATs do a lot of damage - not as much as a blaster, BUT...
...both Scrappers and Brutes have personal protection. They have secondary powersets that reduce incoming damage, let you heal damage, and so on.
I'd say run both tutorials, honestly. They have the same info.
But I think the villain tutorial is more fun.

I prefer the redside contact mission system. It is more fluid and linear. The hero side has you running all over the place without much continuity.
Some people say Brute is the best to start soloing. I say mastermind, but using the MM pet system can be daunting. I was able to figure it out on my own, the tank method for MMs totally eluded me though, it took someone on the forums to explain that subsequently before I even realized it was there.

That leads to the ParagonWiki. While player-created and player-maintained, it's a good source of information. You can search on archetypes and look through powersets, search on whatever you have a question on (such as "Enhancements,") read through lore and more.
And ignore the AE completely this time up. Soloing really isn't that hard in the game, and even then - you're still going to be invited to teams.
Click on "Team." In the blank area, type in "No AE teams please" - again, given what you went through, you want to avoid the AE. There are plenty of folks out there who are quite happy to do missions, task forces and more. (And "What is a task force?" Well... look it up in the wiki! )

The learning curve is why I didn't mention Masterminds, or Dual Blade Brutes, or a Kin/Arch Defender blue-side. (Granted, learning one of those right off the bat make something like a Blaster seem effortless.)
If I weren't at work this very moment, I'd hop on and collect snake skins with you, Azrael.

alright i gotcha, problem is that the magic store enhancments are only lvl 20s, how can i get lvl 50 enhancements? ima t the westwroth buying place but cant figure out how to buy the enhancements
[/ QUOTE ]
Don't go to Wentworth's for Enhancements. If you spent all you time in Architect, you should have plenty of Tickets that you can trade at the Ticket Vendor for Single-Origin Enhancements. Otherwise, make for the Rikti War Zone and find the Vanguard Quartermaster, who'll sell Level 50 Enhancements.
As for specific Enhancement advice, I say, respec out of Stamina. You don't need it, and you don't need to listen to the squeaky-voiced whiners who insist that it's "required". Also, drop either Super Speed or Fly, whichever you like less. One travel power is fine. Now, all of your attack powers should have five or six slots in them. Put two Insight of Grey in each attack, they'll pump up your attack accuracy so that you'll almost always be at a 95% chance to hit, which is the game's maximum. Give each attack at least one Power of Grey, two for the heavier ones, those will reduce your Endurance consumption. You may also want to give your high-power attacks a Renewing of Hermes to make them recharge faster. Build up should have three Renewing of Hermes in it.
Once you've got the Insights and Powers of Grey in place, run some missions to experiment, and fill the remaining slots with what you think your powers need. Everyone has different play styles.
