Let's talk Finishing Moves
Hurl, at point blank range.
At that range it doesn't look like you're throwing it so much as breaking it over the head of your victim. Especially satisfying against a target that *really* shouldn't be able to take a slab of concrete over the head (last time I did it was against Indigo - smash and crumple).

Second, and it's a close one, is Siphon Life. "Soul STEAL!"
[/ QUOTE ]
Amen to that!
On my Inv / Axe tanker I like to finish with Pendulum, the great massive axe swing. Especially against Nemesis buffing Lts. I'll whittle all of them them down to almost nothing then drop them all at once with one swing.
I also like Cleave if there's 2 of them close by and I can line up the strike.
Sniping a runner is also great. Boom! Headshot!
"Nothing is impossible for the man who doesn't have to do it himself." ~Midnight Flux's former boss.
There are usually two sides to every argument but no end.
Everything placed above this line is always IMHO, YMMV and quite certainly not to be taken too seriously....
Spectral wounds, aside from being awesome, has a lovely animation for an attack power. You make this sweaping, dismissive gesture and a blue aura appears around them. Its marvleous for a kill shot since, it looks as if you dismissed them with casual contempt and they promptly keeled over and died. Or perhaps tahts just my imagination at work.
For a more traditional "pwn in the face" ending, Energy Torrent (hero-side) or Thunder Strike (for my villain) are my favorites - the emote, special efects and sound effect, to say nothign of the actual knockback, both combine to give me that satisfying visceral (and highly genre-appropriate) sense that I just blew the guy through a goddamed wall.
I gotta raise Crane Kick up another point. Its like the ultimate humiliation, sending a defeated foe accross the room.
Also, on my plant/storm/stone controller, I quite like smashing a mob with Fissure, its the footstomp that has a small amount of range to it and it makes the earth raise up in a small AoE.
Get a few mobs in a cluster damaged with holds and debuff then stomp the ground with fissure, much fun as they all collapse
Combat Kangaroos, Justice Server. First 50's
Jirra Roo Plant/Storm/Stone/Musculature Controller
Combat Kangaroo Rifle/Energy/Mace/Spiritual Blaster
Kung Fu Kangaroo Martial Arts/Reflexes/Body/Spiritual Scrapper
Tribal Arc Shield/Elec/Mu/Spiritual Tanker
my favorite finisher is whatever attack i just used that finished off the enemy. im usually to busy mowing through mobs to look. lol
Amazing Acrogirl - Eagles Claw. "And The Final Flourish!"
Battlebrat Bianca (inv/ss tank) - KO Blow "Finally The PUNCH!', Footstomp "I said...SIT..DOWN!"
Tiniest Threat - Assassin Strike "heeheehee" (That's her evil giggle)
Tectonic Impact - Heavy Stone Mallet, "FORE!"
Unstoppable Wolf - KO Blow "To The MOON!", also various howls or snarls.
Burning Radicles - Imps "Super Fiery Monkey Team Radi Force GO!!" along with a dramatic point at the enemy.
When I'm on my BS/regen I enjoy finishing off a fleeing enemy with Slice.
I imagine that he cuts off the bottom half of their legs so that they can't run away.

Slug on my AR/ corruptor. Just raising the rifle and snapping off a single shot to drop a fleeing enemy with contemptuous ease.
Neutron Bomb on my /rad defender... just because I like the mushroom cloud effect, so it gives me a chance to show it off without a zillion special effects distracting me from it.
Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.

I got the death blow on Recluse with the last bullet revolver temp power, I'd been holding onto the last charge of the power for about a year to do it and it paid off
I'd say that's my fave finisher.
A super villain who's endowed with the power of a titan, being taken out by a bullet... there was just something magical about that.

In a completely unrelated note, I hated the end of Lord of Illusions.
Okay, I guess it wasn't so unrelated.
it has gone from unconscionable to downright appalling that we have no way of measuring our characters' wetness.

Oh! One more!
Hurl, when used by a character with a Shield. It's a one-handed smack down with a big ol' chunk of rock. Sooooo awesome!
In Melee it looks like you're bashing them over the head, at range it's not as neat, but still cool!
-Rachel-
In a weird twist, rather than cherry tapping on my Katana scrapper, I always try to finish things with Golden Dragonfly or at least Soaring Dragon, I rarely do, might help if I didn't use them as an opener too.
Like the OP, whenever I have a martial arts scrapper I have this whole combo I like to do that I nicknamed "Viewtiful Rengeki" or "The Viewtiful Combo" which consists of Flurry or Sands of Mu, Storm Kick, and Crane Kick. VERY beautiful when it all works.
For my blaster, I have few preferences for finishing them ranged, but in melee, despite how unlikely it is, I generally like to finish them with Power Thrust for the same reasons as finishing an opponent on an MA scrapper with Crane Kick, doesn't hurt that if I use this in her melee chain too soon, my opponents would end up out of melee range. Though if Power Thrust fails to kill them, usually I'll tap them with a Blazing Arrow.
For my DB brute, Vengeful Slice or One Thousand Cuts are my preferred ways, or at least finish with a combo finisher.
In general I prefer to finish using my strongest powers, it gives a nice theatrical flair to it all.

Seismic Smash is made of finality. I always imagine the sound of skull and spine *snapping* deliciously as two fists of solid rock crash down on your dome.
Another vote for Slug dropping a runner. My character gets this smug "Oh please" grin and snaps off a quick round into the guy's spinal cord.
And another for KO Blow and Heavy Mallet. Those are hard to beat. Pretty much anything that sends your enemy flying, dead.
Edit: In honor of my 2001st post, and my personal hero, the late Sir Arthur C. Clarke, I direct your orbits and aurals here.
My Bane's finishing quote is "Nothing left but the clean up"
My shield/wm tank, well she had the shining finger power up and attack quote, only using the shield "Shield CHARGE!", three keybinds, epic fun for all, especially her win pose which she went "AWESUM™ pose!"
....And the team she was leading became "Team Awesum", it was great we ran around six hours beating things and making "Awesum" Quotes.
One of my favorites is finishing off a foe on my Willpower/War Mace Tanker Motoko Michi with Jawbreaker. I always imagine the hapless foe disappearing in a twinkle in the sky.

Grav troller/dom, using Propel, throwing a coffin.
Closely followed by a kill from a damage proc in Taunt, especially if it's on a MoGed Paragon Protector.
Jawbreaker is an amusing finisher on my Mace/WP Brute, especially as due to her relatively small size compared to most NPCs it has been renamed "Ballbreaker."
And Siphon Life doesn't compare to finishing the entire spawn with Dark Consumption. Why settle for only one soul?
For some reason, Brawl. And also Crane Kick, Eagle's Claw, and Knockout Blow, like other's have said. However, I don't go out of my way to do these specifically. I just use the power that's recharged.
to TO THE END!
Villains are those who dedicate their lives to causing mayhem. Villians are people from the planet Villia!

That is both awesome *and* convenient!

I'm still trying to convince myself to make an Elec/Shield Brute so I can Shield-charge + Lightning Rod.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh man, forgot that. That finish rocks.. shield charge into the group and while they still getting up you turn to red bolt of lightning they're done
The pose you do coming out of Lightning Rod plus being surrounded by dead bodies is epic.
Edit:
If I'm real lucky someone hit me with the Fortune Card that makes either the wolf howl or that deap garbled voice. As you come out of LR and you're in that half squat arms out to side looking up thing the sound triggers.
Ranged Shot: For that one mob that managed to survive Rain of Arrows and run away. Just when they think they are out of range an Arrow finishes him off.

Once, steamrolling the second mission of the LGTF, we were fighting the 4 EBs at the end of the last encounter. Death was was in the deep red and started to fly away, out of my range, when the Fire blaster's Blazing Bolt exploded him from clear across the room.
We all know that snipes suck, but that was the closest the game came to making me want to take Blazing Bolt since I respecced out of it last year.
oh, why has nobody said THUNDERSTRIKE (blaster bersion) yet?

Wait, what? Snipes suck?
I use 'em as an alpha strike and that's pretty much it. By the time the whole mob aggros and comes at me, the snipe never recharges in time.
Definitely a power of limited utility, but suck? How so?

Nova.

Seconded....and always with a lower-case "boom." in teams. ^_^
I also love to use Power Burst as a finishing move on my Kin/NRG Defender. Something about the double-fisted blast and the sound of the blast accompanied by the knockback just makes it a great finisher...especially after I've Siphoned and Fulcrum Shifted my way to a massive damage buff. ^_^
