I've been doing this since the End of Days announcement in august, I get a ticket when the jackpot is good enough...
Last chance this Friday I suppose... -
If you have some... a lot of disposable income, here's one item fitting the subject of this thread.
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...inter?ref=live -
Got my refund on my CC, 2.36$... It seems to be correct, I only had VIP sub until 6 Sept.
As for the expired CC, the FAQ says :
Quote:What if that credit/debit card is cancelled or expired?
The card does not have to be active. The refund will be applied to the account tied to the expired/cancelled card. -
Got it, I knew it was something simple...
the folder name is Program Files[very important space here](x86)
Thanks Aracanaville. -
It's not working for me...
I put the OpenGL32.dll in the game directory.
I put the GliConfig.ini in the game directory, check that it's not .ini.txt after edition.
Made sure I got all the Program files to (x86).
I renamed the OGLE folder in the plugins and it's the bin, not the C++ source files.
I uncommented the commands at the bottom of the ini file and changed the line too, added the command in the CoH launcher.
The ini file is working, I changed the activation keys and the grab work in part, I get a Frame_<number> folder everytime I try, I get all the images of power icons, inspirations, etc... but no .obj
I suppose I missed something but it's 4am and my brain is starting to ooze by my ears.... -
Yes, without hesitations.
-
I'd go with Mutant and Masterminds 2e.
I never tried the Hero system, but it is often mentioned in thread like this one. I should take a look at it. -
The Weekly Strike Target is now displayed in the LFG panel. It's the SF / TF underlined in purple.
Whenever you wonder what something does, right-click on it and select Info. Almost everything in game as an Info panel, some with extensive information on what it is and how it works. -
Quote:Just because BaB said it does not mean it was his personal point of view.BaB's (iirc) was the one that was really fond of saying the reasoning behind not giving DB options like escrima was in fact the immersion factor of damage type.
Since he's been gone a while, that viewpoint may have altered.
And if I remember correctly, Positron said in a Ustream that making weapon that dont fit the powerset is simple but dont expect damage type to change because damage type is part of the powerset balancing. -
See! See! You were told they would bring States back from the dead and soon.
This is Paragon City Lad.
Next we will see The Man of Impervium, The Man of the Day After and the Last Son of the Well of Furies.

I think the difference between CoH and the other F2P MMOs is , like Arcanaville eloquently said, that we see our multiple characters as options. Costume sets and powers give us more options so we will be more inclined to get them. It is my personal guess that the majority of CoH players have many characters and the few have only 1-2.
On the other side, the other MMOs dont offer the same variety of possibilities in character creation leading to a majority of players with 1-2 characters and few with multiples alts.
An other point of CoH is that you dont need to play a character very intensively to have a good character. A character with SOs is good, one with common IOs is pretty good, sets galore make them great and adding Incarnates abilities make them awesome. Outside of major IO setting and Incarnate abilities requiring a bit more dedicated playtime , you can easily get multiple solid characters. And outside of the Incarnate system, all this "gear" are relatively universal to all classes and can be move among our characters easily. The SSK also makes level difference with our friends much less relevant, encouraging even more alt-aolism.
In the other MMOs, having a good character requires more dedication to that character. Because some gear is bound on pickup, rewarded for specific quest, having rank or class requirements of whatever kind, you pretty much need to play that character to keep it strong. And you need to keep up with your friends if you want to play with them.
So to sum this up, in other MMOs we are inclined to buy for specific characters, all kind of perks and boost, gear and stats increase because these characters are the few we want to keep going and in CoH we buy more options, costumes and powersets to make new characters.
Personally I will buy account wide features that can be used by many characters first like shared storage (I agree with Rabid_M, ours is very costly), content, etc... then things for more specific or single characters like mounts or gear. Like AkuTenshiiZero said, consumables dont even register, I dont spend real cash on click - gone stuff.
Specifically in CoH, I buy costumes and powersets. Storage price is too high for me and the current options not useful enough to justify the cost. I dont like the buy it now before it's gone "trend" on the costume bundles and I honestly think you should put all the enhancers sets in the store and put 3-5 sets on sale for the first week of the month every month. It works great on Steam, I have many games I have not even installed yet, but bough them because they were just 5-10 bucks. -
Quote:And this specific store used to buy TOs for more Inf then the others, like 25% more and I did swim all the way to go sell there.I still laugh at the badge they put at the Freedom Corps store in IP. "So far out of the way it's regarded as the cursed job assignment to work there"
Before the Devs added the stores to the map, I was working on a series of macros to give directions to stores of all origins in all zones.
As for the contacts, they actually buy enhancers in the stores and sell them to us with a markup. They have to make living too you know. -
Quote:So let the no-animation travel powers use a stun like debuff. When stunned, offensive toggles drop but not the defensive ones, ctrl-clicked powers dont fire, we cannot start any animation at all and stumble around slowly.FYI, Foot Stomp does not work. Accelerate Metabolism and Radiant Aura do. So it looks like PBAoE buffs/heals do work, but only on yourself (but more importantly they animate), and PBAoE attacks don't work (or animate).
Just switch the stumble around slowly with zoom around on a board / carpet / 4 legs. -
The shields are also only useful for one powerset, just like the swords.

and a general chat channel too.
Help is used to chat and LFG on every server.
I dont know why the Devs did not add these a long time ago, at least when freedom started. -
Quote:That does not prevent us from miss-clicking the first power in the tray and changing the tray instead. Can't you just go into options>key mapping> and just remove the key that is bound to changing the tray number? isn't it a [ I think, or maybe it's currently set for </>
We want the arrows on the left side of the tray to be disabled on command. -
Quote:Dont mix in-game RP conceptual reasons and game mechanics, they are totally different.Aha! finally a second one who raises a good point, though lightning rod and spring attack cannot be activated when in flight, Foot stomp was covered earlier, You can hit people avove you, why not all around you? and with the lower that cause you to jump, rebalancing quickly isn't impossible, Lightning rod/shield charge teleports you and your clothing so why not the board along with it? Just because you character strikes a pose on a board does not mean they cannot return to it. As for coyote, I covered this: It could make sense to only give is a bate animation brawl, and walk as you become an animal. Now the "Only Efffecting self makes sense only for powers that require complete concentration like affterburner (you focus everything to fly fast)
Like I said the reason we cannot fight on the board / carpet is because the Devs would need to review all the animations and that's not happening. I dont even need to mention the coyote, it's not the same skeleton to begin with, forget using powers and the Devs cannot allow us to fight with even only some power on the board / carpet and only bite people to death while in coyote form, someone WILL [censored] about it, it's 100% guarantied.
The "only affecting self" was only a way to keep our toggles one while using the travel power, not because my character need to concentrate or whatever. "Only affecting self" means "cannot activate any other powers" if that actually works anyway. -

Add a lock on the right side of the tray maybe? -
Quote:They could still work much better though. It would certainly be nice if at the very least your toggles restored when you turned the power off. Seriously though, Ninja Run and Beast Run and Steam Jump do not cause de-toggle, why should any other purchased travel power?
And if that's exactly what the Dev's intended. . . Well then that's kinda dumb in my opinion.Quote:Let's look at Beast Run, Ninja Run, Steam Pack, GvE semi jetpack, and the 30 day jetpack. The rules of nullification aren't applied to those, but under what these people are saying they should. Now let's go into a hypothetical and say they decided to do so.
100% personal opinion.
The difference between ninja run, beast run, Steam jump, etc... and the rocket board, flying carpet and the coyote transformation are that the first group does not alter your character's basic stance drastically. With any of them toggled your character simply stand straight up and then can go on to any combat animations.
On the other end, on the board and carpet your character keep the same pose and must do so because most powers animation start from a different one. And then there's the powers with more moving around like any of the jumps in martial art, spring attack, foot stomp, fault, the punch attack in electric melee, lightning rod, shield charge, etc... where our character prance around a lot. How do you animate this while stuck on a board? or while turned into a canine?
That's the problem with allowing combat while using the second group of travel powers, the Devs would need to revisit every single animation for every single power in the game and do so again for every single fancy travel powers. Quite an undertaking.
I honestly wish we could still keep our toggles on, and get into the "only affecting ourselves" stance like hibernation or phase shift do. I suppose there's some technical problem I dont see with this...

Quote:You expect the Devs to take a lot of time to make a new interface to make a virtual respec, place enhancers you dont have, pop an instance plus a new interface to pick your enemy group just because you are too lazy to take a few hours to use the tools already available? That seems like a lot more work then it should be. I stand by my original suggestion. A WW contact that lets you try a build before you waste a respec, and buy/waste time on inspirations. Yes, Mids is a great tool, but I still can visualize the effects in game. Contact would let me do that.
I dont think you will get a lot of sympathy for that idea... -
Quote:The advantages I see with my suggestion are that they would be implemented without new UI (which I understand is a major resource sink) since they are "simple" toggle.I actually LIKE this idea.
It's not the most graceful way to handle it, but it solves a lot of problems quickly. (Standard Code Rant may apply.)
It allows us to switch from one animation to another quickly Vs making the animations part of the power customization system requiring a tailor visit to change.
And if it's at all possible, make the toggles always on, even after stun / hold / death... -
Quote:why is it beating a dead horse?
I posted my suggestion a week or 2 ago and it is pretty much what the OP is about... -

Considering that some animations "outrank" some other animations, like ninja run / beast run / super-speed will play over the sprint animation, I wonder if this animation chain of command could be used to offer new animations for our current travel powers.
For example, the current flypose emotes will change your character's pose during flight but you need to macro or type the emote each time and if you stop moving you need to start the flypose again. With the outrank system, flyposes could be changed into toggles that cost no endurance and dont offer any benefits but would be the animation used when your character flies.
This could be extended to the other travel powers, like having a beast run toggle to keep on all four even when using sprint, new rocket board models, teleport animations, super-speed with no flames, fly with flames, etc...
