I can recall maintenance downtime happening on Christmas day, so...
The last Monday holiday they purposely transferred it to Tuesday. Before that, they did it on Mondays angering a goodly number of people.
No announcement so far as to their intentions for this US holiday weekend.

The last time we had a Monday holiday, they did maintenance on Tuesday. The last time we had a Friday holiday, they did maintenance on Thursday.

Server Downtime on Holiday Mondays (and soon to be 4th of July Friday, I know it falls on Saturday but most people will have Friday off) is just plain Silly.
Who want's to bet it will last 90 minutes or more?

4th of July doesn't really count as an all day holiday really in the modern times, people still count it as a normal 9-5 work day because fireworks can't be seen as well during the day. Even though it is Independance Day.

Yep, once again they shut the servers down at an inappropriate time. This time the day was wrong instead of the time. I am a regular morning player (8am-2pm est US) and understand that the minority of players are on at this time so I usually only gripe once and a while just to let off steam.
I must agree that shutting down servers for "Maintenance" on a major US holiday is kinda inconsiderate of the "Game". I could understand if the game was completely unstable because they just put out a major patch (i understand that all the lab testing in the world can not show up all probs) but to just do server maint, come on NCSoft, tomorrow would have been a better choice.
But then, we all act like dweebs every once and while LOL.
Hope they get em back up soon. 
Bah. I had just started (the increasingly rare happening of) playing with my daughter and the 5 minute warning went off.
They've been doing it on Mondays for awhile now. People should have expected it. And, if they'd delayed it until Tuesday, instead, there would be a different thread complaining about how it should have been Monday, instead, because that's how it's always done. Devs can't win.
Down on a fraking holiday?! The asshattery of the knobs that run this game never cease to amaze me. 
Pretty suprised the servers went down on a holiday; you know, when most people aren't working and have time to actually play.
Also less than impressed because I've just re-subbed because for some totally unexplained reason the "pay for 10months sub and get 12months playtime" which I subbed to during the offer period wasn't honoured. Classy guys, really classy. (No problem with my card or bank, I've already checked.)

You know, here in the States, we get a few holiday weekends to really kick back and relax. I had my coffee poured and was really looking forward to playing before having to run around and do the stereotypical BBQ thing today with family. And CoH/CoJ decide that an optimal time to do server maintenance is on the holiday??? Times like this make me glad that within the next 6 months there will be some healthy competition in this marketplace for MMORPG superhero fans. Then CoH/CoJ can do server maintenance all day for as much as I'll care...Happy Memorial Day NCSoft!
How about this....
Server Maintanence on Mon. and Fri. except on Holidays.
Holidays defined as Banks/Post Office closed.
Move Server Maintanence to Tues. or Thurs. if required.
See how simple that is.....of course now that I14 has hit, they need to take the servers down on Tues and Thurs frequently at 7 am CST. Soo...I guess they come down every weekday...
