This raises my eyebrows... have you contacted Customer no-Service about this? Hopefully, it is just a single glitch. If not, that would not only be bad, but illegal.
Bait-and-switch is not allowed in the U.S., even for customers purchasing from the UK. Unfortunately, it usually means a Class-Action, which only the attorneys win, but still severely harms the company...

It's not "built into the game." As noted earlier in this thread, they changed maintenance for the last holiday or two so they didn't do it on the holiday itself.
Now, this time they didn't announce that they'd be moving maintenance to accommodate the holiday, so we really had no reason to expect it.

you know coh is becoming a real pain in the a@#! It's always something! They dont let the players know what's going on and one would think with everyone home for the holiday they would have the servers up. I think it's time to start looking for a new game

OK, I work most weekday mornings, so I don't know how long server maintenance usually lasts, but I thought for sure they'd be back up by 10 AM ET.
