So I just got back in after a few months out of the game and when I went into my SG base nothing worked in it. I went to AP to talk to the SG guy since I figured I owed some rent, but he tells me I don't owe anything. Checked my Generator and Mainframe and I should have more than enough power and control for everything in the base, but the Generator isn't producing any power. I deleted and rebuilt the generator and mainframe a few times, but I couldn't get them to produce any power.
Any suggestions? -
Quote:Never heard of the Human Torch? Firestar? Sunfire? Firestorm (OK he's more nuclear)? Cyclops (sure it's "energy" beams but it sure seems to melt or detonate a lot of stuff)? Superman?I have no problem suspending reality. I just can't picture a heroic, typical good-guy hero setting villains on fire or stabbing them in the head just because thay can be 'ported to a hospital quickly. (It's also mentioned a few times in-game that the teleporters don't always work, or sometimes just aren't fast enough).
Do you think Batman would suddenly start using a machine gun just because he figures the bad guy will get to the hospital before dying? I doubt it. I'd just like to have more options for non-lethal force.
Plenty of comic book heroes have lethal fire or heat attacks....
But it's comics...
And no one dies forever in comics...
Just think of it as an episode of A-Team where a point blank nuclear explosion would only throw the bad guys to conviently placed lake and stun them -
Bah! Why do you have to run these so late? I'd love to join with my 32 Merc/Traps MM Horse Face, but not sure I'll be able to be on that late.
No promises but I'll shoot ya a tell tomorow if I'm on to check if you have a spot. -

While I agree that sometimes the "Freedumb" bashing gets a little carried away,

That's all I'm tryin to say...
[ QUOTE ]
People complaining about 'ghost towns' or 'dead servers' get little sympathy from me.
[/ QUOTE ]
That was just a jab at Bill. I figure if he can toss around the "freedumb" myths then I can toss around the "ghost-town" myth. -
blah blah blah
I'm sorry
All I heard was, "No one likes my ghost-town serverwaaah!"
-
Well your first post in the thread did refer to it as "freedumb"....
And why not point out other "facts" like in general only low end machines will really notice the lag, or how anyone with any experience will only be "locked out" for 2-3 minutes since all they have to do is click on another server and then click Back a few times...
Now I'm only half serious here, since we Freedomites have learned to develope thick skins to protect ourselves.
And it's not like I'm fighting to make sure this new player ends up on Freedom. It doesn't matter to me either way, we have plenty of people and plenty more will join.
But it does get a little annoying to see my home server constantly attacked, belittled, insulted, etc whenever someone asks a question about servers....
It's all good though.
I know, it sucks not being as good as us. -

Ok got AVG, Ad-Aware, and Spybot ran full system scans with all of them. Cleaned up what they told me to clean up. Ran rull system scans again and all three are coming up clean now.
Here's my current Hijack:

When I ran the Hijack I got a pop up message saying my system wouldn't allow it access to "Hosts" file or something like that. That a problem? And do I look ok now? -
Don't listen to all the haters.
Freedom is the best.
At everything.
Period.
Well except Hami raids, but really who cares about hami raids anymore anyway?
So I guess instead of period I should have said:
Comma.

Tried to run Adware but AVG wouldn't let it install. Is it safe to run both of them together (ignore the warning)?
[/ QUOTE ]Adaware, hopefully that was just a typo in your replyBut yeah, it's safe to run them together, at least I used to no problem.

It was this.
Tell me I didn't download something really bad....
Edit: Spybot is pinging on that thing, so I guess it was something bad.
Can anyone link me to the real Adaware so I don't make that mistake again? -
[ QUOTE ]
Please tell me you've already done the MalwareBytes Antimalware.
Please tell me you've done the Adaware.
Please tell me you've done Spybot Search and Destroy while you were at it even though it wasn't mentioned.
And finally...
PLEASE tell me you're going to give Norton the boot and get something better at the job... like AVG or Avira or something.
[/ QUOTE ]
Norton's gone. Got AVG.
Tried to run Adware but AVG wouldn't let it install. Is it safe to run both of them together (ignore the warning)?
Checking Spybot now. -
Here's the results of my Hijack....but I'm not sure if I did it right...
I renamed the folder that the program went into, but I wasn't sure you meant about renaming the exe

OK this isn't technically COH related, but I trust you guys when it comes to pretty much anything computer related.
I think my computer might be infected with some kind of virus or spyware and of course LOLNorton isn't picking it up.
Can anyone recommend a good free spyware/virus scanner and remover? -

Renaissance de la Veritas is a PvP SG? Sweet, I had no idea.

Awesome. -
Pick up team do exist redside. Other than the early morning dead hours I rarely have trouble putting together a team with ten minutes or so of searching.
Dont's:
1: Don't just stand in a given zone broadcasting LFT over and over again.
2: Don't try looking for a team in a zone completely inappropriate to your level.
Do's:
1: Form your own teams.
2: Make use of the /search feature.
3: Make some friends.
4: Join an active SG.
5: Join a global channel.
My technique is pretty simple. First I bind a standard tell to all my characters.
/bind 0 tell $target, Hi. I'm putting together a $level team set to Relentless to run some non-AE story arcs. Would you be interested in joining?
Then I open the /search window, find some players in my range. I start with players that are my level, then I use the +1/-3 technique, then I open it up to the -6 range, and in times of desperation I'll go to -10 but only if the player I'm inviting is level 22 or higher.
Some things to consider. A quick look around the forums, or even just around broadcast in AP/Cap will show you that there are thousands of people who hate AE. They would love to join pugs. But they get covered up by all the spam. And for some reason they are unwilling to start their own teams. But with one politely worded tell, they are more than willing to join yours. -
Ok I'm going to do something a little unusual and make a helpful post.
Felicia,
No one doubts that you can solo Rommi. We know this to be possible. No one doubts that you can do it with a dark/ defender. Absolutely no one doubts that you can do it with an unenhanced defender who has a shivan, a mary, a wolf, a snowbeast, and a heavy.
What we doubt, is that you can do it in the time you say you can do it. And quite frankly your attitude has been very unhelpful in this thread. You can't expect to walk into a thread and say "I can do this. ", and not expect to get called out on it when you follow it up with "But I wont tell you how you can do it also unless you beg and plead and ask me really nicely. "
Sorry, but right now people are looking at you in one of three ways:
1: An idiot.
2: A liar.
3: A jerk.
But that is neither here nor there.
When you come to the forums and make an outlandish claim like you have, and it is an outlandish claim. It is incumbent upon YOU to prove your claim. It is not incumbent upon us to beg and plead and hope that you are nice enough to share your knowledge of the game with us.

sever can't even handle more than 100 people.

Umm....no.
And yeah most of that lag is coming from AE so just politely ask all the farmers...err...excuse me AE players...to leave the zone and all that lag should clear right up. Or just start in Galaxy from now on. -

Freedom/Virtue, check the server boards at the bottom of this forum, any server-wide raid schedules are in there.
[/ QUOTE ]
If you're looking for Hami Raids, Freedom is definately not the place to go. You're lucky if we do one every 2-3 months and that's only to prove that we can still do it.
Now if you're looking for Hami Farms...
As far as RWZ raids and TF/SFs are concerned, Freedom is definately the place to be. -
Redside the AE spam usually happens in Cap. Give it a few days

49% of the players LOVE the AE cause it lets you get to 50 w/out really playing the game
and 49% of the players HATE the AE cause it lets you get to 50 w/out really playing the game
and 2% of the players like pie?

Coincidentally 98% of percentages on the internet are made up. -
/no
OK I guess it's against forum rules to just type /no, so I'll give you a more in depth post.
/no thank you
There's an old saying about throwing out the baby with the bath water. You might want to look it up. Also I'm going to go on the record right now and answer all of the threads that go along these lines.
The Following List of Features will never be Removed from the Game:
Enhancement Diversification
Wentworth's / Black Market
PvP
PvE
Mission Architect
Inventions System
(Insert any feature you don't like in this spot)
They might be changed, they might be altered to something completely different and unrecognizeable, but they will never EVER be removed.
If you can't deal with that, then well...
