Back in the fall of 2005, back when The Hollows was a dangerous place, I took my lowbie elec/elec blaster there and was (surprise) promptly trounced. So I clicked on the "Go to Hospital" button. I went to a hospital all right. In Outbreak!
I had to petition to get out, but in the meantime, I defeated the 100 infected to get the badge. -
I have logged in about 6 times now, and in the course of being redirected to the main forum page....I'm logged out again. I'm surprised I was able to make this post.

My SG has like 6 or so people in it and for a while we were in the top 10 SGs on Virtue. We just played in SG mode.

As long as my Incarnate Lunch Zone has a Chipotle, I'm happy.

I usually start teams because none of my friends will. For missions, I'm happy to recruit people as well. I'm such a laid back leader that I just generally let everyone do whatever the heck they feel like unless we team-wipe a few times. Then I might suggest that we use some strategy. Or if, say, a blaster takes alpha repeatedly and faceplants (I know, that NEVER happens), I might suggest he let someone else go first.
If I'm leading a TF or incarnate trial, I'll make sure everyone knows what to do and outline a general plan. Aside from that, we just kill stuff and have fun.
I think I've only ever run into one or two d-bags that I've had to kick, and they were pretty big d-bags. -
So...I should invest in diner real estate, then?
-
Honestly, I don't have a strong opinion on this either way, as I see both perspectives.
However, Forbin, with your analogy, I will say that if the LFG tool were the diner, the sign outside the door would read that customers would be invited by the management to come in and fill all available seats. -
On Virtue, it seems that the various instances of the RWZ are where people recruit. If there is a raid or the zone is otherwise getting full, league members might actually meet up in Cimeora or Studio 55 after being recruited.

I led a Katie Hannon TF recently. I hadn't done one of those since merits were introduced. I think we were the only people in Croatoa, though.

In Vista and Windows 7, the Intellipoint drivers were the cause of the scroll wheel not working properly in CoX with Microsoft mice. The latest version of the Intellipoint drivers seems to have solved that issue, however.
The workaround was to kill the intellipoint process, and open up the hardware page. Right-click on your mouse and disable it. Then re-enable it. -
The last time I bought purples, it was in the spring or maybe summer. I think Absolute Amazement recipes were running around 20-50 million. I checked yesterday to outfit a toon I respecced, and was greeted with 200mil/each! I went with Stupefy instead.

I'd been having the same response. I tried transferring money to my Paypal account and *still* got the same response.
Then I switched to Google Chrome from Firefox (I'm running NoScript on Firefox), and lo and behold, I had no problems. D'oh! -
Did I not get the memo? When did the market break?
When I sarted college, I picked up one of the MSFL gold Dark Side of the Moon CDs. It cost me like $25 or something.
I sold it later when I was in serious need of cash. I sold it for more than that.
Now, looking on eBay, it goes for anywhere from $40 - $799 (!). It has gotten much more rare, and there is still demand. Of course, some people are looking to gouge the unsuspecting masses or those who just want it and money is no object. But you can still get one for a bargain if you look and are patient.
This is exactly how the CoX markets are working. Maybe you should also complain to eBay. -
These drivers are excellent. I don't get the slide show like I did with the previous version w/ my 8800 GT.
-
FWIW, I'm running an 8800 GT and I notice a huge performance drop in Ultra Mode when I use the 257.21 drivers as opposed to the 197.45s with exactly the same settings.

I'm a pretty casual player, but I've managed to get at least three of my level 50s to 1bil each in inf by playing the game and spending maybe 5-10 minutes a play session at the market.
On my lat lvl 50, I got him up to 1 billion at lvl 48, AND I'd IO'ed him out along the way (Numina +regen/recovery in health, PS +end in stamina, LotG +rchg, etc.) Several powers were frankenslotted w/ 2 decimations, one being the hold proc and 4 thunderstrikes...
It's hard NOT to make influence/infamy in the game, really. If you want to be able to make a LOT of money with little effort, play the market. The tricky part is spending some time figuring out what you can either flip for a profit or what recipes sell cheap, but whose crafted enhancements sell for proportionately more (weighing in the cost of salvage). -
I've had a gut feeling about recipe drops being lower since I16 as well, but admittedly, I haven't really tested it. However, I ran an 8-person ITF a few nights ago and got ONE recipe drop, although it was a LotG +7.5% Global Recharge.
-
I buy/craft/sell one set IO to make my market money. Since 2XP, I've still been able to buy the recipe for ~500k. I used to get ~2mil in profit from selling the enhancement. Now, since right before 2XP and last night, I'm getting anywhere from 5-7mil profit, and I'm left shaking my head wondering why people are so willing to give away inf. I mean, I'll take it. I expect that if current trends continue, I'll hit 2bil by the weekend on my current marketeer. Oh, and I have NOT adjusted my asking price, either. It's still where it was pre price spike.. So people could buy for less, they're just choosing not to.

I started a thread a while ago about this.
Turns out what you need to do is
1) kill the ipoint.exe process.
2) Open the device manager
3) disable the mouse
4) enable the mouse
DO NOT open the mouse settings or you will have to repeat this process. -
I found a workaround, but it's a bit annoying.
As I mentioned, uninstalling IntelliPoint doesn't resolve the issue, and I also discovered that the scrolling problem is present in other third-party software, like iTunes.
So, the workaround is to open the Task Manager and kill the ipoint.exe process. THEN, open the Device Manager and disable and re-enable the mouse (SHIFT+F10 is your keyboard equivalent of right-click, btw). NOW your mouse will perform as intended until you either a) restart your computer or b) open the mouse settings window (this restarts ipoint). You are now free to scroll in iTunes, Firefox, and zoom in and out in CoX with impunity.
What is super frustrating about the whole thing is that I have a wireless M$ keyboard with a scroll wheel, and don't have any scrolling problems with it for other applications (it's never worked w/ CoX under any OS, though). -
I'm running WIn7 Ultimate (64-bit) and I have a M$ intellimouse explorer 2.0. My issue is that when I enter CoX, my mousewheel will not zoom. It doesn't do anything. I've verified the ingame settings and it is configured to use the mouse wheel to zoom. My keybind is set to zoom with the mouse wheel as well.
I'd forgotten that it did the same thing under Vista, the culprit being Microsoft's IntelliPoint software. But under Vista, uninstalling the software fixed my issue. In Win7, uninstalling Intellipoint didn't help.
I've uninstalled and re-added the mouse and it is no longer identified correctly. Now it's just an HID-compliant mouse. Still no scrolling love, though. Oh, and yes, I've rebooted since uninstalling IntelliPoint.
Any suggestions?
