Windows7 RC1 - Mouse problem
I have he same issue, and on top of that the intellimouse software crashes after ~10 minutes of play. annoying for the custom mapped buttons I use out of game, in game no difference. except for the lack of zoom on the wheel.

I found a workaround, but it's a bit annoying.
As I mentioned, uninstalling IntelliPoint doesn't resolve the issue, and I also discovered that the scrolling problem is present in other third-party software, like iTunes.
So, the workaround is to open the Task Manager and kill the ipoint.exe process. THEN, open the Device Manager and disable and re-enable the mouse (SHIFT+F10 is your keyboard equivalent of right-click, btw). NOW your mouse will perform as intended until you either a) restart your computer or b) open the mouse settings window (this restarts ipoint). You are now free to scroll in iTunes, Firefox, and zoom in and out in CoX with impunity.
What is super frustrating about the whole thing is that I have a wireless M$ keyboard with a scroll wheel, and don't have any scrolling problems with it for other applications (it's never worked w/ CoX under any OS, though).
i have the same problem, but don't show the ipoint.exe in task manager - any ideas?
I'm running WIn7 Ultimate (64-bit) and I have a M$ intellimouse explorer 2.0. My issue is that when I enter CoX, my mousewheel will not zoom. It doesn't do anything. I've verified the ingame settings and it is configured to use the mouse wheel to zoom. My keybind is set to zoom with the mouse wheel as well.
I'd forgotten that it did the same thing under Vista, the culprit being Microsoft's IntelliPoint software. But under Vista, uninstalling the software fixed my issue. In Win7, uninstalling Intellipoint didn't help.
I've uninstalled and re-added the mouse and it is no longer identified correctly. Now it's just an HID-compliant mouse. Still no scrolling love, though. Oh, and yes, I've rebooted since uninstalling IntelliPoint.
Any suggestions?
