I made a more expensive mistake in percentage terms, but much less in monetary terms. A load of digits were retained that weren't displayed in the bid window, meaning when I tried to bid 1001 for something really cheap, I actually bid 1001001.

Yikes! I've made a few "oopies" in the 5-10 million range but I've yet to do a big one yet. Better luck next time I guess...
