A good three some would be toons that can have the following traits:

Player 1: Damage taker, either a tank or a brute.
Player 2: Damage dealer, either a scrapper or a blaster or stalker or Dominator.
Player 3: Support, either Defender or Controller or Corruptor or Master Mind.

I prefer I prefer defenders but if you need a healer, Controllers can take empathy as their secondary power. After the tank/brute gets high enough lvl you really won't have to worry about it that much. Besides, I know you said the 3 of you plan to play excusive, but if you need a healer for an AV/Hero fight, you can try to look one up to join u.

As for the power types, just play around with a few toons up to lvl 10 to get a feel. Each of you are gonna have a preference to what type of toon you like and what powers you choose. My 2 sons and I play and we all have different likes and dislikes. Each of you should get a feel of what it is you like and then make a trio to run to lvl 50.

Yep, once again they shut the servers down at an inappropriate time. This time the day was wrong instead of the time. I am a regular morning player (8am-2pm est US) and understand that the minority of players are on at this time so I usually only gripe once and a while just to let off steam.

I must agree that shutting down servers for "Maintenance" on a major US holiday is kinda inconsiderate of the "Game". I could understand if the game was completely unstable because they just put out a major patch (i understand that all the lab testing in the world can not show up all probs) but to just do server maint, come on NCSoft, tomorrow would have been a better choice.

But then, we all act like dweebs every once and while LOL.

Hope they get em back up soon.

And I like your way of keeping the pot sturring Aett. As before, I am certian the devs are doing what they think is right, I just dont have to like it :-). Now I need to read the threads on the AE exploit and check the servers and see if they are back up.

Thorn, I see your are being the hero and defending the devs well but nothing I have said was meant to be dev bashing. I have actually been impressed lately with in game gm response and I understand that I am part of the minority. 2 am is not as good a time as say 5 am to 9 am but once again. That is because im a morning player. Some group of people are gonna suffer during the server maintenance, we don't have to like it but we have to deal with it because we are the minority.

I will continue to beat down villians and heros (depending on my arch type at the time of play) for a long time. Just not during server maintenance.

It is just dissappointing to want to jump on and play when the servers are down and luckily, the forums is a place to voice that. As for the badges thing, as long as I have been playing there have been nerfs. I remember when rikti island was an sg's prestige farmer dream. NERFED. Just recently, AE mish farming was a PL'rs dream. NERFED. It is just part of the game. The devs mostly are just trying to make things even for all and that hurts the feelings of those who are using the exploits. I am guilty of the rikti monkey exploit. But, our sg was not as bad as the ones that nailed the prestige win after the start of COV. The villian SGs were raking in prestige to no end. In the end, they are just doing their jobs while they still have them to do. Cudoes to the devs.

Here is a suggestion. I do not know how old you are but if you have a checking account that offers a visa/mc debit card, you could use that instead of a normal credit card. I use my debit/bank card cuz it has a master card symbol on it. The cash comes right from my bank account thus no credit card debt from gaming.
If you are under 18 and have a teen checking account, you may still be able to get a card but that usually means you need your parents approval.
If your over 18, have a job and a checking account, go to your bank and ask for a debit card that has a checking account symbol. My bank actually gives me cash back bonuses for using my debit card as a credit card (its only 1% but still thats cool).

Yea, i know that the evenings are busy for the game cuz all the kids get out of school. I have two teenage sons 16 and 17 that play too and they play from 6pm-9pm est with a short break to eat dinner or I will cut their monthly subscriptions lol. So I can understand the morning time cuz people usually work or are in school from 8am to 4pm.
Still I agree with Imaheroe, 2 am on week nights would be better. I play often in the am, more so then pm so 8am-12pm is my prime time. Im just part of the minority.
As for other games, I have played several other games, Conan, the dreaded WoW(and wow it sucked), and D & D Online. I play two browser based games from time to time, Fallensword and Dragon Fable but FS is most often. And those only to fill the gaps left by server updates and game patches on COx.
I must say this, I love COX more than any other MMO ive played. Graphics are better, although upper body nudity in Conan was interesting. Not to mention its just cool being a hero or villian for a while.
I also like D&D online but the soloing part for that game is difficult and its hard to find teams alot. I am a D&D geek from way back, we are talking Basic D&D when I was 12 lol.
Any way, I digress. Love the game and will play til my wife threatens divorce or death invites me in.

I play fallensword too, its a browser based mmo. It is graphically challenged to say the least but I play with a friend and we are on a guild together so I usually play that when COH/COV is down but dang it, they are down for server maintenance right now TOOOOOO.:-(

My question for u DSlice is do u mean u need ur fix cuz the servers are down or just need ur fix lol.

Man it breaks my gaming heart to try to log on and get that message, "you are out of luck, go play something else while we get our geek on" lol. But, oh well, will check back later if i get the chance. Sad part is, you would think that after 45 months of playing this game I would realize this. Oh well, another senior moment as my wife says. It is just a bummer when I have the gaming itch and can't scratch it.

Does ne 1 know why the servers are down for the 2nd time this week and if there will be a patch to download? Wish they could be like microsoft and just have an update day (update tuesday) once a week and let us know what it would be so we could be prepared for the let down ahead of time.
