Thanks for bringing this to the forums Steiner. Sad to hear Mids is stepping down due to RL, but glad to hear that you'll be heading up updates to the program. Best of luck to both of you.

This.

Also, what will this setback do for development of an I14 update?

he made the game A LOT more fun. Especially when inventions came out.

Will be missed.

But glad it's being continued as a program.

Way to break the mood... just giving you a hard time.

But you know you can go into Mid's and edit in enhancements you want, may be a little tough for PvP enhancements but regular ones really aren't that hard to do.

Sad day Mid has done some incredible work.

Big shoes Steiner, glad to hear you're willing to take over

Best of luck to you both!

To Mids, thank you for all the work you put into such a fantastic tool.

To Steiner, thanks in advance for all the hell we're about to put you through.

Let me relieve some of the worry behind his departure.

The application will remain one of the top priorities on the Titan Network... there is even talk of one of our founders possibly returning short-term to continuing the code exclusively... however, regardless of that happening it will be maintained and updated on a regular basis I ensure you of that!

We have a few ideas for it that will link it with the existing Titan services so that will be something to look forward to.

Also, it won't just be me on the project. We have a great group of knowledgeable developers in our ranks and though it will be hard to replace Mids' contributions to his application... it won't be impossible.

The application itself will remain "Mids' Hero & Villain Designer" out of pure respect for the creator and his contributions to the CoH/V community. Though we're thinking about giving the panda an overhaul, imagine a buff panda with a cape, lol... j/k.

Side note: There are just too many places to post important information about our progress on things like that, so if you don't already have an account, sign up to Titan so you can follow our progress. (We're also on Twitter, http://twitter.com/thetitannetwork).

However, this is the official forums so someone representing the TN will be on here to keep everyone posted.

PS. Mids' never said he isn't coming back and I'm pretty sure he isn't gone entirely. Don't be surprised to be posts on Titan or the EU forums by him.

Pass along our thanks for everything Mids has done, I know he's added a lot to my CoH experience, and thank you for taking up the torch, I personally wouldn't be against a caped crusading panda

Yes. I have used the program in all of its versions for quite some time ever since returning to the game at around i9. His contributions have been vital. I hope that he is able to remain as a player if not as a developer.

Just a big THANKS to Mids for all the hard work he has done over the years working on the hero planner.

Glad to know the planner will be in capable hands going forward.

Thanks for posting this, I would like to give Mids a big thank you. I've used it a lot for a long time, and it was always a good way to plan a new hero. I was also pleased that whenever I had left the game and ultimately returned, I was greeted with a newer, updated version to continue my planning. So thank you Mids!

Goodluck in the future Steiner with keeping the planner up to date.

Sending the best of wishes to Mids, for putting together one of my most heavily used out-of-game tools, period. In any MMO.

And a salute to the people at the Titan Network, for keeping it alive for the future. o7

A game-altering resource.

Took me and my friends a while to get used to it but it's second nature to plan out builds on Mid's, sets and all.
Incredible work that is a seamless addition to the game.

Wouldn't be surprised if the Devs used it at times.

Take care Mids and you have our gratitude.

I just want to give a big THANK YOU to Mids. Not only did his application make the game more fun to me to play, but honestly, it made planning a character into an hours-long fun mini game in and of itself. I cannot count how many times I've been entertained for half an evening or more SIMPLY due to the pleasure of planning out and tweaking out character builds that I may or may not actually play.

What an incredible tool for the imagination!

I can't read the Original Post from work, so I'll just add my "Kudos on a job well done" and add in "Hope everything works out for you".

Oh, and Thanks for the Fun Application. It's helped many people, and maintaining it must have been a selfless, thankless job.. But that's what Heros do, right? :-)

I'm massively relieved that somebody else has taken on the project, because my first reflex was to Luke Skywalker "No-o-o-o-o-o-o-o!" in horror. Some days I spend more time in Mid's designing hypothetical alts than I do in-game. It's a great tool, I can't imagine playing CoH without it.

Why spend time typing up my own thoughts when someone else has already expressed them?

My profound respect goes to Mids for his outstanding piece of work that has helped so many so much over the last couple of years. Without people like him, this game wouldn't be anywhere near as good and playable as it is.

And man thanks to Steiner and crew for keeping a great work alive and even keeping its original name.

Thank you.
