It will work at all times, so long as you never exemplar to less than 3 levels below the IO. Hopefully it's a level 10 IO!

You MUST have something in the text pane to send things. I usually tell myself Happy Payday, or some such. -

Quick reply:
True story--I once got pink-slipped from a creative writing class for spelling Colour with a "u" in it, and then proving the teacher wrong with her own dictionary.
Backing up: Although I've lived in the Midwest for most of my life, my family was stationed in Germany/Norway in the formative years of my literary education. We lived off-base, so everything I read had the British-English spellings, not American-English.
Fast forward 13 years. During a creative writing assignment in one of my classes, the teacher was giving one-on-one reviews of some short story drafts we'd been assigned.
"Tekka, I absolutely love your story, and there's only one thing wrong I can point out in the entire thing. There's no "U" in Color." ((Please note how difficult it was for me to type it without the U!))
I frown and point to the ancient orange tome she has in the front of class, a massive dictionary on its own pedestal/stand, of which she is very fond and to which probably sacrifices the students that fail her course at the end of semester.
"Is that YOUR dictionary?" I less than meekly inquire. Perhaps I should have known better than to taunt a tenured teacher....
"You know it is!" she snarls back.
Wordlessly I retrieve the volume and lug it to her desk, opening it to the page, where, directly under "color," the alternate spelling "colour" is also listed. I silently point out my observation, watching her colour darken in embarrassment (or more likely, fury).
Loathing swirls in her piggish little eyes. "Spell it however you want it!" She instructs me to return to my seat, and calls the next student for his evaluation.
Three minutes prior to the release bell, she calls me again to the front of class, and hands me a pink slip to go directly to my assitant principal. Reason? Insubordination. Giggling, I skip to go see the good man for the first time and introduce myself.
After hearing my side of the story, he sends an office aide up to the classroom to fetch the odious little woman, and, after listening to her version in the hall outside, asks her to step in and apologize--TO ME! I was back in class the next day (instead of the usual 3 days and mark on the record), and even better, I still got an A- for the assignment. -
The other night hubby and i were teamed trying to get this badge. Lvl 50 fire/kin and lvl 50 fire/fire blaster. both had hot feet. in an hour we'd found MAYBE 20 Magmite lords. then a few friends joined team (but didn't enter zone) and we started seeing Lords ALL OVER the place. 12 within the first minute alone. They're laying face down in the ruins above the crater. there are smoking fires down inside the crater that pop them out, but mostly, they were just above ground.
Get a few teammates, preferably the kind who need it too, and just go nutty. It took maybe an add'l 15 minutes to get the last 80 we needed for the badge once we had 3 to 5 people on team.
If you can fly, you can circle the rim of the crater just keepin' an eye open for the ones in the ruined buildings while your partner searches for fires down in the hole. Or vice versa. There's also a nice targetting macro i found on paragon wiki. here's the format for a multi-string find.
/macro find "target_custom_next enemy alive quantum$$target_custom_next enemy alive void$$target_custom_next enemy alive cyst"
instead of quantum, void and cyst, i used Lord (Magmite Lord), Ogre, and Caliban. I knocked out the Regenerator and Volcanic badges superfast. then i edited it for Sorceror, Underboss and Consigliere and took my butt to Indy Port for those badges -

magic cards have greater buffs and the debuffs are less?
[/ QUOTE ]There's only one debuff in all of the Mystic Fortune buffs, and it's only -3% tohit.
Edit: And that -3% tohit comes with +100% speed and +15% recharge, too.
[/ QUOTE ]
There's one that does (one time) damage to the recipient as well.
[/ QUOTE ]
well NOW it's 1-time ... it used to do it every time you zoned in-and-out of missions too before they fixed it.
and F_W, that was my point--That because the science pack didn't have a power (because it was based upon the whole body-changing thing), to facilitate the OP's suggestion, a power would have to be added to it.
Back to Yogi-- why would we need to enhance (for lack of better word) an origin's booster abilities in the hands of characters of said origin strictly as means of style and theme, when the boosters themselves are designed for just that? (style and theme, that is). Or rather, how can it be done in such a way that it remains a matter of style / theme?
I'm struggling to find a way to ask "and why suggest it without giving specific examples?" without it sounding accusatory to my own mind, so please don't take it that way.
a: Why do you want to see this?
b: What (specifically) would you like to see?
c: How do you keep it from becoming lopsided in favour of a specific origin? -

Don't forget the bums, beggars, etc.
Plus, there is an artwork that has a huge icon, male, and female icon on it for a restroom base detail.
Now, what REALLY bothers me about that, though, is it is only six foot tall... and the Humongous door is exactly the same size and dimensions as are the male/female doors...
Hope you have teleport self to get in there for the facilities...
[/ QUOTE ]
That, or carry around family size tubs of butter. And I'll agree with ya on the door thing. they're also really close together. how do they fit toilet + sink in that little space?
My (admittedly frequent) complaints and conjectures on the physics of it annoy the hubby. To save us both the brainspasms we just agreed that in our tech base, the doors are just teleporter queues to the correct facility. -
like what? techies that self destruct do more dmg, or have a shorter recharge, or a self-res component, or other?
magic cards have greater buffs and the debuffs are less? do you code that to the carder or the cardee? if it's both, does that mean a magic hero using cards on another magic hero would result in a double-plus?
there was no power with science. does that mean they have to add one, or do they go back and limit science-only characters to using the body-model change for costumes?
NOTE: I am NOT knocking your suggestion; I'm trying to open up a neutral discourse. I personally believe that the devs are doing the origin boosters to give people more options (most of them highly-requested) to flavour their characters, and that the powers are just that: nice, but not necessary or even game-changing.
I'm worried that if they do origin buffs on these things, all but one origin will disappear. How can we then implement your suggestion and keep things balanced and still fun? -
Hubby and I always pact our new duos. That way he can play in the morning between feeding the dogs and going to work, and i can play a bit longer in the evening between the time he goes to bed and the time i join him, and we stay the same lvl no matter what.
would i like to see the pacts expanded? heck yah! then we can pact our themed teams with friends all together, and then it doesn't matter that so-and-so is taking his kids to holiday world for the weekend or that such-and-such has to go home for her mom's operation, we can still play our chars and stay together -
Only time i've been "interviewed" is when i'm setting up TFs.
Me: "Hi, the hubby and i are putting together the Manti TF, and are currently LF 3M. blahblah #of merits blah, TF commander accolade blah, 2 hrs or less, blah, pst for invite or more info"
Potential Teammate (PT): "What do you have already?"
Me: 2 trollers, blaster, tank, scrap. anything's welcome.
PT: looking for heals, dps or other?
Me: Bodies. just need bodies. want to join? bring whatcha want. any class.
PT: Ok, brb with <alt spec> named <soandso>
Me: Right on, will save your seat
conversely, the closest i get to interviewing is this:
TeamLeader (TL): LFAE?
Me: (wincing at that oh-so-informative and wonderful introduction) it depends? if it's not WAPL and everyone on team contributes, I'm in. -

Fire/Kin notafarmer is actually exactly what my search comment used to be.
Now its "built for teaming."
Either way, I take great pride in being one of the few to break the "why won't he speed boost anyone on the team" mold.
[/ QUOTE ]
aside from those of us on the forums, we're far and few between, aren't we?
Did a LGTF a few nights ago on my fire/kin. the team had a total of four (4!!) kins on it, and although we all /had/ SB, i was the only one keepin' it on folks. i couldn't even get the others to SB me to save THEIR lives.
I'd have just said "eff this, i won't SB them until they start SBing me", but i don't want to be THAT kin, either. that just slows down the whole team and causes a buncha drama.
Keep fighting the good fight, and showin' folks that not all fire/kins are solo even when teaming. -

You'll notice when you place things in your base there's a big blue box around some of them. before, the boxes could not intersect, no matter how much space was between the box perimeter and the item.
you also couldn't jut so many boxes up against each other that there was no clear "path" from one doorway to the next, even if much of the box was empty space.
now we can intersect not only the objects' boxes, but the objects themselves, which has led to some very impressive results. ((See: Coolest rooms and coolest items threads!)) -
yes, please! more than the weird glove option that i think just got accidentally ported to women.
and for suggestion starters, a male/female/huge tattoo option on the right arm: a winged heart with a "Mom" bannerseriously. I'd rock it.

Yes please! Why did i just buy 10 science accuracies? i needed mutation! doh!

It's 1500 tickets per mission regardless of map size. The end of story ticket bonus is equal to the amount of tickets you earned during the mission, multiplied by a small modifier for subsequent missions, not to exceed the 1500 ticket cat per mission.
Math time: Suppose you have a 2 mission arc. First mission, and let's do easy numbers, you earn 200 tickets during the course of the mish. at the end, you'll be rewarded 200 extra tickets, for a total of 400 tickets.
second mission: you earn again 200 tickets, but the modifier for second missions is 1.05, iirc, so you'll earn an extra 10 ticket bonus at the end, so instead of 200, you get 210, bringing your total for that mission to 410 tickets.
suppose you're on a single mission large map though, and you earn 1475 tickets before you finish. when the mission completes, you only earn 25 more tickets. sorry, charlie, you hit the cap, you mission total is 1500 tickets. if you'd hit 1500 before complete, you wouldn't get anything, either.
is there anything i missed? -
While I don't like what others are using the AE for (it's their $15/mo, so I can't tell them not to), I DO like that the players tend to centralize in one area. That makes it SO easy for me to go to AP and /b
[broadcast]Now inviting for Citadel TF. lvl 25+, rewards X merits, and is part of the Task Force Commander Accolade. PST for more info or for invite.
That fills easily half the team, and then i can use /search and send whispers to pick up the rest of what we need. Some of the folks there are so glad to get out of AE i can get a TF off the ground in 5 minutes or less. -
Good luck Pogo
Don't forget to get some sleep. I know first-hand how you can get into basebuilding, then suddenly realize it's 5am and you have to be at work in 2 hrs.

I can't remember where i saw it here, but I believe someone posted just such an arena. the ropes were, i think, fluorescent lights, and the turnbuckles were tech tanks or cylinders.
Edit: Can't find the other one, by a guy i think named Rawkzilla?? but Seigi no Akuma posted this pit arena in the cool rooms thread.
Edit 2: His name was Gawdzilla, not Rawkzilla. he's in the coolest rooms thread.
he writes:

sounds like a very functionable setup, Pogo, though I'd have swapped yellow/green, so that the "starter" zones are in green and the higher stuff is yellow. (( that's the way the logic capacitors in my goofy noodle process things, anyway))

Thanks, bud
Hopin' to get a flatbed scanner sometime in the near future. I've got about a million pics I'd like to scan, but only end up doing the ones for my gaming group because of how annoying it is to do it at work. I'd love to upload all 43 bajillion hero/villain/d&d/star wars/misc brain-drippings that i've done over the years. -
/staggers in, looking more than a lil bedraggled.
/notices Fed and flomps next to sackboy and the tiger, hugs the sackboy, scritches Tiger's ears and waves to the rest of the group. Hi everyones. Did summun say snowcones?
Yanno, If they want me to do a week's worth of work in a single day, they should really be paying me more. /mutters darkly about the construction office. Can't wait to be back at work at the Urgicare Centre tomorrow.
Fed, cheer up(*more huggles*) and take a peeper at This Jedi. I'm learning how to colour again ^_^.
Hope the day goes well for everyone, I think lunch is over already and i just barely got my scans in. blah. (shame the other job blocks access to the forums)
