What were these "pathing rules" I've heard about?
You could not place certain items in certain locations before as there were pathing rules, that tried to make it so you could not block access to items that could be destroyed in raids. (among other things)
It was removed, along with many restrictions on where you can place what object. So now basically two objects can occupy the same place, and you can completely block off certain tiems with others or place items deep in raised walls. We basically have a lot of freedom right now for item placement.
You'll notice when you place things in your base there's a big blue box around some of them. before, the boxes could not intersect, no matter how much space was between the box perimeter and the item.
you also couldn't jut so many boxes up against each other that there was no clear "path" from one doorway to the next, even if much of the box was empty space.
now we can intersect not only the objects' boxes, but the objects themselves, which has led to some very impressive results. ((See: Coolest rooms and coolest items threads!))
Thanks everyone.
I did realize I could manipulate my base items more than when I last played (~2 years ago) but didn't make the logical connection to pathing.

I keep seeing "pathing was removed" pop up here and there lately, and I'm not familiar with pathing, what it meant for a base, and what removing it did for bases.
I also could not find it on my home page, Paragon Wiki.
Can someone explain it for me?
