MA killed the game... COH revolves around AP
Can I have your stufz?
If everone who complained would just make a global channel and team together, we wouldn't see these kind of threads.
There's also the option for each individual to use the search tool and make his own team.
In other words, the only "issue" with AE is it highlights the lazyness of people like the OP, while before they used to be able to let other people do the work and just wait for an invite. The only thing I'll give you is the search tool has its flaws and could use a complete revamp.

iam a 24 vet player, and now my 50s have nothing to do. i go to PI and no one there, then to RWZ and nothing. finally i step into Atlas Park and everyone is there doing boring farms. Game should be renamed to "City of Atlas Park AE". Since most players are in one building trying to Power Level.
Even if i try to stay away from AE, i still can't find or get enough people to do regular missions... Gonna have to move on to another game looks like...

Waahh, wahh, i cant find pugs and I'm too lazy to form teams or go looking for teams elsewhere than broadcast therefore the game is dead?

Yes, a huge number of people are in AP (or Cap redside) spamming broadcast looking for [this week's AE exploit] runs. This is a good thing - the average IQ in every other zone in the game has gone up three standard deviations, my tells are mercifully free of 'r u kin?' and 'fil plz', and I haven't gotten a blind invite to a PL team in forever.

Though to be fair, I have tried to form teams, people get on team "Oh, you aren't going to be running AE?"
"No, I plan on running regular content. . ."
"Ok good luck with that!" *person quits team*
And I took the time to tic every little bubble other than Atlas park in that selection. . . and I sent a tell asking if they wanted to join a "Mission Team" apparently they thought I meant an "AE farming mission team"?

The whole system is set up for the leader to find other players. It's just such a hassle (and inefficient) to have the search proceed that way. There should be a "leader looking for members" window, or a "Looking for Members" setting in the current search window (which you have to be able to change when your team is full). I used to get a lot of unsolicited tells from players asking to join my team, so there's an unmet need for players looking for teams.
They just added an Architect Team chat channel to reduce global chatter (did it help?). Maybe there should be a similar whole-server channel for teams looking for players.
The current mechanisms for indicating you're looking for members include:
<ul type="square">[*]The current team search dialog: this can be used to display a note that you're looking for members, but when your team fills up there's no way to change the message (you have to be unteamed to set it, unless there's some slash command that I can't find on the Paragon Wiki).
[*]A user-defined channel: this is often suggested, but not everyone knows about them, and there's a limit to the number of channels you can be a member of, and a limit to the number of members in a channel.
[*]Join a supergroup: sometimes your friends just aren't on.
[*]The broadcast channel: this only works in the current zone, which makes it useless when you're in a mission. It's also really hit or miss, because players at higher levels are going to be scattered across the entire city.
[*]The Help and Request channels: these are potential alternatives -- everyone has access to those, but their intended use is not to find teams.[/list]Probably the easiest thing would be to repurpose the the Request/Auction channel to be a global Member Request channel and cause it to be added to an open tab the first time you log in after the change.
This thread is full of new and exciting opinions.
MA has not killed CoH. It is the individual player that kills their own enjoyment of the game.

THIS.
I especially hate seeing a thread like this on a Tuesday, as Monday is an unofficial "Let's play MA" day.

Then maybe you should, I dunno. Join some of your servers global channels and stop trying to use pugs? Theyre usually horrible experiences anyhow.

So, if the problem is AE, then why do others not seem to have this issue? I have no problems forming or finding teams on my server, and rarely touch AE at all.
* Find an active SG with good players
* Use your server's global channels
* Global friend other active players that like to do the same things you do
* Use the server section here on the forum
Teaming is easy. It only requires some effort on your part.

I'd assume its because some people relied heavily on broadcast pugs pre-AE and therefore never actually developed any real friendships or found an active SG. or something.

And some of the SGs I have been in...though they are great for getting teams, I've had to leave because they seem to support censorship, and say things like "I don't team with energy blasts"
I've been blacklisted by an entire SG/coalition for my response to THAT particular leader.

Actually, if it were the other way around, I think it'd solve everyone's issue.
Make it so that people can farm whatever they want, can create farms, whatever. With two restrictions:
1.) If an arc is made as a farm is must be labeled as such with a special tag that excludes it from all searches not using that tag. Failure to label it means losing that MA slot forever.
2.) Advertising for MA farm teams/arcs in public channels is forbidden, and punished harshly.
This solves everyone's problem. The farms are out of sight/out of mind of those who are sick of seeing nothing but farm broadcasts and sick of wading through farms in the MA to find a story arc. It also makes the farms less visible so we don't need to worry those who are concerned new players will think this game is nothing but farming MA. Newbies who find farms will have had to look for them, specifically.
It also makes the farmers happy as they can go off in their own little rinse-repeat mindless world and be left alone.
Farmers could certainly create a global channel to advertise farms in if they wished, or to find other farm teams, but they won't be clogging broadcast anymore.
Everyone is happy.

Wha...?
The weird thing is, I have no trouble finding great arcs in MA that aren't farms. I would even argue most of the MA content isn't farms. At least not when I look. Farms are fairly obvious and easy to avoid if you want to. There's so much good stuff in the MA, I don't understand why eveyrone is obsessed with complaining about the farming.
Of course I usually play on Victory, Liberty, and Pinnacle. So I don't see the madness that happens on Freedom or Virtue. I guess I'd suggest maybe trying one of the smaller servers out if the farm spam bugs a person.

I've been a player since closed beta; and pretty much from day one - level 50ies honestly haven't had much to do; as aside from the Hamidon, the Devs have never really put in ANY 'Post 50' type content (eg bigger NPCs and Villians TFs that any player under 50 would have a hard time completing). The Statesman TF/Lord Recluse SF is probably the only TF/SF that comes close. With I8 and inventions, I suppose you could then IO out your 50 (took me two weeks and I was all that focused on it either.)
So, saying "My 50ies have nothing to do' is definitely NOTHING NEW for CoX; and is still one of my major complaints of this game.

heres an idea then. Find a better SG. Just because one SG was full of ignorant [censored] doesnt mean all of them are. I know of quite a few SGs on my home server who welcome pretty much anything, and are loving and accepting and friendly. Including the one I belong to.

I've contended that if you can't find enjoyment from the game, then it's time to move on to a different game. Level 50 is not inherently better than level 10. My level 50 is one of the most enjoyable characters to play because I can do ALL of the content. I run level 50 task forces. I run level 40 task forces. I run level 30 task forces. I even go to Talos and send a tell in combat that I'm a level 50 looking to exemp down and run with a team, and get on a team VERY quickly (well, if they're not too busy AE farming). It's a breath of fresh air to be a low level again.
If you only want to play 50 content, then you're just self-imposing a limitation on yourself. If you find that the content just doesn't do anything for you, then you have to just admit that it's time to take a break. Nobody can do the same thing for years and not get tired of it.
The problem with level 50 content is that it takes a long time to design, and then a week before it's old-hat. If the devs put out a few more level 50 missions, it'll only be a couple weeks before you've played them and are saying "we need more level 50 content".
