Nope. His mask is held on by a thin elastic band that wraps around the back of his head.

I just figured they made it look goofy so no one would complain about it not being in the costume creator.

ahh, but it IS in the costume creator now! part of the 'valkyrie' set is a mask that looks identical to Tyrant's.

Also...since they changed Infernal to have demon wings, I want them to change Back Alley Brawler so that he has cornrows.

The magnets are in the mask, actually. See, during the First World War, before Marcus Cole had any super-powers, he suffered some head injuries and had to get sections of his skull replaced with metal plates. Now, anything magnetic will stick to his face, a fact that Manticore has repeatedly taken advantage of for amusing pranks.

Note that the entirety of the above paragraph is probably entirely false. But it's funny has heck to imagine Manticore sticking refrigerator magnets to Statesman's face while States is napping on a couch. Assuming the Freedom Phalanx has any couches.

What always makes me grimace every single time I log on is the big CoH splash screen prior to the log on window.

I cringe seeing Statesman's half mask helmet thing and his one lazy eye staring out from under it in the foreground.

I can imagine my friends who are committed to other MMORPG's trying out the game, and just laughing their butt off at our game's main character.

Personally I like it. I think it, along with the rest of his costume gives him kind of a retro feel that fits for a character that's supposed to have lived as long as him.
