I've created my third arc.

It is a serious (probably too serious and dark) story arc. It does have a EB/AV at the end. Be sure to read the warning in the arc description!

I would love it to get some plays and feedback!

I can attest that this thread is working well, anyone that has rated mine and left feedback, I have returned the favor.

What's the point of starring each others arcs? You should review them as you see fit. There are many crappy arcs out there that have very high ratings. It's misleading and kinda ruins the feature cuz u end up starting crappy missions. Waste of time!

I can't speak for everyone, but I will speak for myself. I'm not looking for stars as much as I am looking for players to play my arcs and give feedback. In my personal opinion, plays with feedback help me improve my arcs. Goodness knows I appreciate any help. =)

So far, I've played all the arcs on the first three pages and a handful past that. I've honestly enjoyed what I've played so far and am looking forward to the rest. Personally, if I don't have fun playing one they aren't going to just get 5 stars because it was on this thread. That'd just be silly. =)

I do know what you mean about crappy missions having 5 stars. Before this thread I'd randomly be trying 5 starred arcs that sounded neat only to enter mission and be greeted with 'mission complete'. *shrugs* Suppose others may like that, but not my thing. I'd like to think my arcs are at least better than that, so I posted them here instead of letting them get buried to gather dust.

Hmmm, maybe a better title for this thread would have been 'I'll play your arc, you play mine' since that seems to be how it's been working out in my experience.

[/ QUOTE ] Honestly, I don't see the point in even playing an arc if you aren't going to star it. It doesn't have to be 5-star, but at least rate it something.

On a side note, lately I've logged in with feedback comments for my arc, and people telling me "+5!", but then I either don't have tickets to claim, or the arc doesn't even show an increased number of rates. It seems either the MA system really hates me, or people are sending the comment and clicking "finished" before clicking on any stars.

Also, people are confusing the "completed" status that shows when you complete an arc. That's just for completing the arc, and doesn't necessarily mean your rating actually saved. If you open the info right after running the arc, there should be another line that says "You rated this arc: ***** Excellent" if your rating saved.

I've actually seen this happen while I'm logged in. Ie, get an MA comment that say "5 stars rate meh arc plz: #xxxx" with no associated ticket notice. This is really obvious since I have both Private Messages and Architect Entertainment piped to the same tab.

I'm inclined to be generous and assume that it's just someone screwing up rather than people being jerks, however, since the overwhelming majority of people who bother to leave comments (even "star exchange" type comments) have been honest about it.

I know that when I look at arcs I've played, sometimes it doesn't show me the "you rated this arc *****" note, even when the other person confirmed receiving the tickets from my rating.

Go go MA open beta?

Sorry if my comment led you to believe I'm not starring what I've played. I've starred everything I've played based on my own opinion of it, including yours.

Some players seem to not want to star an arc until they see improvements to it. Not my view, but to each their own. At least it means they liked it enough they want it to succeed and will play it again. Well, there are also the players that are new to AE hitting finished to submit their comment before starring not realizing they would close the screen without voting or sending their comment. Think it'll get better with time. *edit, re-read your post and see you agree on the second part, sorry about the oversight*

As far as the rating/ticket thing, I've always wait until I've gotten the mission has been rated text before clicking finish. Haven't noticed tickets not rewarding like you have, may need to pay closer attention to it. Will bug it if it seems off. Thanks for the heads up.

re: on the "starred your arc +5!" and not getting any tickets, I read in another thread that apparently some people will start clicking on the first star and then click each star in progression to make them all light up, instead of just clicking the 5th star (or whatever).

As a result, the initial rating of the arc is 1, and there are no tickets issued. The raising of the rating doesn't issue "upgrade tickets" for the upgraded rating, as would happen if they started at 3 and raised to 4 then 5.

If people actually are rating your arcs 3, 4, or 5 and you're not getting tickets from it, that's probably why.

Yes, this is definitely a bug. I see this occasionally, where I'll do a few missions and one will not show that I've rated it (even after searching again to update the listing).

ALL-OUT-WAR is currently running test teams and posted a top 20 list on our website. goto guildportal.com searchword ALL-OUT-WAR to view it. Also on BOARDS-CHAMPION heading near the bottom Amygdala has posted MA MONDAYS thread, there is a team testing and rating arcs, i recommend you check these out if your looking for content or want your arc reviewed, or want to join a team. If i remember, i will come back to this thread once in awhile to see if anyone is posting a great storyline they want reviewed.

AOW team runs a person through solo, lvl 50, then an 8 person team, lvl 50, then a lowbie solo, then a 8 person lowbie team to thoroughly test the arc for playability. You will get feedback!

Bug or not, what should we recommend people do first? Star first, then comment, then hit "finished"? A different order?

I might be the victim of this bug, or even faulting myself when starring/feedback others, as I've only had one person who's arc I played play mine in response, though I've played 10 - 12 arcs this past weekend commenting via the feedback (and knowing that is going through) *and* giving what stars I think are appropriate for the missions.

I've been trying to keep track through the "# of people that have played your missions" badges but tickets that should also correspond to others playing and rating aren't showing up.

I could care less about the tickets, or even the stars per se, I just want the badges

I've already forgotten about most of you

FWIW, I haven't seen a single additional vote or playthrough from this thread.

(Edit: Though let me stress that I am still more interested in playthroughs over votes. I want that accolade!)

I want in too.

Mine is "The Legend of Medieval Mayhem: Episode 1"
There is an episode 2 as well. 2 I think is better than 1, but both are still fun. Part 1 is ID#3607 I forget #2's arc # but I dont think it's hard to find if you search for it.

Each arc can be played separately

OK I've run thru and given fivers to the 1st 2 pages of arcs, good times. Surprisingly some of them hadn't had one play yet. Come on folks lets do this. Will run more later as time permits. peace

Maybe we should get a "Master list" going to make it easier to for people. As this thread continues to grow, it would make it much easier to see who's particapating. I've run over 30 arcs now from this thread alone. Just a thought.

Also want to thank everyone who checked out my arc. Seems to still be working great. Got 13 more to do so I better get back to it

This seems fun! I will rate another persons arc on the forum, priority will go to the OP.

My arc is The Environmentalist Encounter ID: 47796. But I am currently constructing a single mission arc. It is about Imperious being captured by the Cimeroran Traitors with futuristic technology. In the end you have to fight imperious, and tbh he is really actually hard even with the allies there to help

Edit: If i did not make it clear, if you comment to my arc with your number I will work on it! I enjoy workin on peoples arcs many of them are very interesting, such as BC's

Well aware, actually. But seeing as how unlike almost any other message board, there are no obnoxious images or long signatures I honestly couldn't see why anyone would disable them.

For the Glory of Godby: Part 1, Arc ID 6235

The Time Bandits, Arc ID 39008

And edit, because I keep forgetting: I'm looking for playthroughs over ratings. Either there's some kind of bug with the tracking on the Author badges, or the majority of folks who have been rating my arcs are not completing them... Mind you, I understand that's the more immediate function of this thread, but an MA badge is an MA badge, eh? I want the accolade, and I couldn't care less about ratings.
