At this point, the list still serves the purpose of "we're badgers and we have arcs, we're looking for interesting things to play, and we'd like to support other badgers."

If you don't care.. hey, just leave it.
For the rest.. sure, they're removing badges. Does that invalidate the work people have put in to building STORY arcs? Seriously? Are the only reasons we're playing is just for badges? Are we really so selfish and so jaded that if we can't get a badge for it, we're going to just say "you don't matter" to everyone else in the forum who might have put in some time trying to put something cool together, without even seeing how interesting it is?
I don't even HAVE a story arc, people, and I'm the one putting this list together, because I want play every single damn arc on it. Not because you wanted badges, but because I wanted to see what you could do. The fact that I'd help you get badges? That's gravy. I don't like gravy, so feel free to drop by for tea and cookies after the weekend (Ulli, I'll make an entire tray just for you). We can discuss the neat arcs that are here.

Cende, I'm with you. I hope more aren't going to leave over badge changes. There are a lot of good and great arcs in this thread. Only 27 more to play personally, hope more fun arcs get added soon! If they don't, well, I'm still finishing my list.

I solo so much that the MArcs in this thread provide me with the entertainment I need to to enjoy my alone time. For the most part, I don't even run them with my main badger! Emp Defenders don't usually do to great solo against custom enenmies lol...

While I'll admit I put my arcs here to help with badges, I'll also admit I'm leaving my arcs up for people "Just To Play", because I put alot of time and thought into them to make people laugh.
(Except my last one Saving The Kingdom, that is not a funny one).
SO I'm leaving mine on the list hoping that people just enjoy them. =)

My November-Charlie arc uses a deleted map (The Crey Revenant Program one - not sure why it was removed) so it is unplayable.
Due to a bug that only a very few people have and probably won't get fixed any time soon, I can't republish it without mapserving. If I use another network and/or ISP I can do it but I may not have the opportunity for a while.

You don't have to remove my arc (#83235) but you can if you like since I wont be running the list anymore. I made it through 31 of them but am done now due to the badge nerf.
Back to Ouro badge grind and regular content.

See, this attitude is ridiculous. "I don't need to have you run my arc because it won't give me any badges any more, so I won't be running any either." This is pathetic. I want people to run my arcs because I want to entertain them with my stories. I want feedback on my arcs so I can improve them.
I was on the fence about the badges being removed. There are some pretty awesome badge titles in there. I got quite a good number of them just running different arcs, and testing my own. I'd see "Badge Earned!" float by and I'd stop and look, thinking "Wow, what's this one for?" But seeing the attitudes expressed in this thread alone put me in favor of it. Seeing some badgers basically saying "[censored] you" to people that actually want their arcs ran to entertain instead of for badges makes me sick.
Cende, I look forward to your updated list, minus the arcs from the quitters who give badging a bad name.

I hate it when people are so closed minded that it has to be their way or no way. Some people like badging for the sake of badging, and you know what? That's OK. Some people like to make stories, and have them played, and read.....and that's OK too. Hell some people just like to farm, and in spite of what Posi says, that's OK too.
What's not OK, is idiots, who go out and judge you for one or the other.
Just because you don't like something, or you think something is dull, doesn't mean everyone feels the same way. Learn to respect other people. Everyone has the right to enjoy whatever they wish.

Personally, I was pissed off for a little while after hearing Posi's post. Not so much because I can't farm, but more because I don't like being told how I can and cannot have fun. So I took a little break, but I am now continuing to go through my huge list, and I am still giving out stars too.
But I do not begrudge anyone who does not.

Nowhere am I trying to say it's "my way or the highway". I respect everyone's right to play how they want. I don't care if someone wants to badge, farm, PL, RP in Atlas, or whatever mixture of the above floats your boat.
In fact, it's the players like the one I quoted that are dictating to an extent. They're mad because the rules of the game changed, so they're taking their arcs and going home. Screw the people that worked hard on their arcs and want honest critique. Screw the people that want to actually EARN their stars.
I don't fault people for wanting badges. I love to collect badges. It's the OCD "OMG I gotta have every single one" attitude that makes the Devs do things like remove these badges. Badges should be about what a character has done. Not about what a player can push the system into doing. Badges have long since lost their meaning, and I think that's sad.
So, fine. The ones who make arcs for badges can go. Leaves more room for the people who make stories to be told.
The reason we're posting to remove our arcs is simply this. We don't want to waste peoples time. If your arc is listed here, you should be running the other arcs in return. If were not gonna run poeples arcs anymore, we are being thoughtful by posting here to let people know.
This wasn't a "Star Cartel"(stupidest name ever), But it was understood that most people here wanted the star badges. And were seeking ways to promote it. No one said 5 star my arc, and I'll 5 star yours. But it was about earning some amount of stars from the folks running arcs. I ran every single arc posted here, so I don't feel bad saying people don't need to do mine anymore. As they have removed the incentive for most of us to use the feature, some of us chose to move on to other things. It doesn't mean I'm not thankful to everyone who check my arc out. It makes you sick? That's unfortunate, but they're are other threads that are not about earning stars that you can run arcs from. My arcs rock, and I don't need feedback to tell me that, I don't need praise, and I don't need your approval, what I needed was some badges that are now obsolete. THATS WHAT THIS THREAD WAS FOR. Notice that it's located in the badge section of the forums? Now why would that be?

Again I disagree with this attitude.
I like thinking outside the box, and discovering new ways of doing things. Especially if that means manipulating existing rules to achieve my goals. I do not see how my doing that, detracts in any way from people who do it the hard way.
How I arrive to my goal has no bearing whatsoever on how you arrive at yours. Take pride in what you do.
Anyone can get any badge if they put enough time into it, the idea that it is some kind of competition is retarded.
It si not up to you to decide "what getting a badge is about" for me.
You seem to think its should be about what your character has achieved in game. Awesome! Enjoy that. But don't sit there and tell me that I have to collect badges for the same reasons. The only meaning badges should ever have are personal, and it is not upt to anyone to tell anyone else how to feel about them.
despite the badge change, I'm going through and playing the arcs on this list and adding mine in the comments line. I still like to see good stories and creative use of the system. hopefully I'll get some plays back on my arc.
For what it's worth, I was finally able to get my arc to update properly, so I could reduce the difficulties of the custom mobs after the last patch. They're still not pushovers, but they're at least slightly less annoying. Any updated feedback would be appreciated, especially if you're teaming.
