Any good non-farm story arcs?

I would say for me so far, the one I've had the most fun with has been by @Yumii (I think thats the global) and it was called, if I remember correctly, Super NinjaCat Turbo Team. Silly name, but it was a really well done story arc with each mission being quite enjoyable. Alot of thought went into it from what I can tell, and it shows. The NPC hero dialogue is quite humorous too

Moncton - 50 PB
Borealys II - 50 Storm/Rad Def.
Capt. United - 47 MA/SR Scr.
Storm Pegasus - 33 Storm/Elec Def.
Diamond Nights - 13 DB/SR Scr.

I would recommend trying "Trouble in the Candyland Factory!" Short but fun.

If you're looking for a non farming arc that's intended to be run in the 30-40s (but doable at 50) feel free to try my first attempt at playing with MA.

The mission is titled: Starlight, Starbright...
and its arc ID is: 78666

I played through it twice. Once on my lvl 34 forcefield/psi defender and another time on my lvl 50 ill/rad controller. I obviously can't be unbiased but I can say I'm proud of my little contribution.

Anyone who does check it out please give feedback cause I'd like to see where I can improve if/when I decide to make something new. I did my best to try to keep it feeling like the missions you get from actual contacts out in the game world and not try "too hard" or too little to make it fun and interesting.

Jem - Ill/Rad Controller Lv 50+3 Nic - Mind/Psi Dominator Lv 50+3 Lady Liberation - Invuln/SS Tanker Lv 50+1 Invicitx - Demon/Pain Mastermind Lv 50+1 Celeste - Emp/Arch Defender Lv 50+1 Nightsilver - DB/WP Scrapper Lv 34 Dusk Howl - StJ/Regen Brute Lv 32 Kyriani - Time/Energy Defender Lv 41Psifire - FF/Psi Defender Lv 50
Star Lighter - LB/LA Peacebringer Lv 30

A few of the ones I've played and enjoyed

#3474 - Old Habits die hard
Villains

A bank robbery goes embarassingly wrong, hilarity ensues. I like the NPC and there's a very clever encounter in the first mission. Also, it's short.

#27952 - The Great Cake Robbery
Heroic

An investigation into abakery break in reveals a robbery of gastronomic excess! (Comedy arc, UK skewed humour)

#71797 The Gorgon Maneuver
- Competantly put together TF style arc involving the snakes. High points are the map choices. Few issues, but one of them (ninjitsu has apparently been sorted).

#1356 - This is war Part 1 - the revenge of Hro'Dothz
Neutral

Follow up to the the LGTF, better for villains or morally ambigous heroes. Very hard but not unfair. All standard enemies, nicely written NPCs.

80210 - SIC Stories: The Furian device
Set as Neutral, but more heroic

(Non-canon and non-serious, well written, good custom mobs. )

Join the General Initiative Justification of Ordnance and Elimination in foiling the SIC attempt to use the Furian device

#2409 - The Mystery of the MAGI vaults. Azuria has contacted you to help her stop the thefts from the MAGI vaults.
#68054 - Out of the gutters. Left for dead, you swore that you were through with being a victim (alt villain beginning story)

Anyone stumbled on any good TRULY villanious story arcs?

That's my only complaint as seaoned villain side player.
I haven't found any REALLY villanious arcs. Surely it's sujective, but all this time I haven't seen anything that would be that evil ( Westin Phipps was great). Most of the time I just end up fighting other villains or just some totally irrelevant custom hero group without doing anything evil or atleast feeling like a villain.

So, anyone seen any?

I've been planning a three mission arc wherein the first mission, you've been hired by an anti-vigilante extremist to sneak into a place where they've been holding newly born magical and mutant babies and push the kid's self-destruct buttons so they don't grow up to be heroes, but I thought it'd would be too evil, even for villains, plus, I'm a role-player on Virtue and I didn't want to offend someone that plays a morally negligent but not evil villain.

Maybe I should work on it, if people actually want to be evil villains.

Note - Self-destruct button is my favorite term for fontanelles.

Well, you could play one of my two. Neither ar Farms and both people seem to enjoy, well a few anyways.
Or check out FemFurys' work. They are keeping me entertained.

My ARs are 11529 and 41969

Enjoy your day please.

Yeah, but the current "villanious" arcs make me think "hold on let me get my hero" most of the time.

I'm making an arc that's is close to being finished and I try to make it truly evil.

In it you steal a virus from mercenaries, plant it in sewers (tiny sewers map full of paragon water department engineers that you must defeat, I even made a hint that one of them is about to be a father )
Then after you do that, you trigger the viral bomb turning people within the water distribution system into raging infected luantics. In last mission you see a city full of battles between the infected civilians and PPD riot police officers (there's even infected PPD officers among the infected.) You need to destroy all the medicine vans within the area and defeat the hero who is the only person that can make a vacine for the virus.

Now that's the kind of stuff that makes me feel like playing a villain.

If you're looking for story, let me throw a shameless plug in for my arc, #77773, titled "The Sixth Origin." Custom mobs, an EB lvl boss with an optional EB ally, lots of story that was intended to play as a mini task force. Hope you enjoy, and I would love to hear any and all feedback and advice!

Goodbye, City of Heroes...I'll miss you.

On Justice as @Amperrie (well, for a little while longer...)

You might want to try #6715: Proactive Destiny. It's not baby-eating supervillainy, but you are rather cruel to people in the name of your own selfish plans.

If anyone is still looking for story based arcs to try, I'm still looking for feedback on two of mine

Between the ticks (gha can't remember the Arc #) - its a character origin arc, and I'm still looking for feedback mostly on the ending / last mission. I couldn't quite get what I wanted to happen to happen in it, so settled on using battles instead... And intend to quite possibly re-work it.

System Shock (Arc 60488) its shorter, only two missions, just a fun little journey into what happens when Luddites bomb an A.E. Server room.

Feedback on both would be greatly appreciated

Let me join the bandwagon for looking for Feedback. 71433. I think it tells a pretty good story.

3 missions. 2 Eb's but easily soloable.

I would like to hear about good arcs that you have played and rated well that are NOT YOURS.

Then you want to take a look at my arc reviews thread, where I do detailed reviews of arcs I find and ones that are brought to me by request.

Here's one right off the bat: The Storyteller: Sabrina's Tale (1237) by Redbone. If you want story, this one has a lot of it.

I made a thread about it before I saw this, but "The Land of Oz" is the niftiest arc I've run since I14 launched.

I apologize for plugging my own story. When I was reading the original post, I read the first paragraph and jumped ahead without continuing (as others have done). I meant no harm by it. That said....

Out of Mind, part 1. Arc ID: 27287.
VERY VERY GOOD! I gave it five stars. It had great dialog, interesting villains, and a good story. The pacing was nice, and it fit right with the CoH world.

Arc ID#30821, A Clean Break

I thought the OP said NOT to pimp your own arcs.

[/ QUOTE ]

I did, with the full knowledge that it was inevitable that some would. You can't possibly ask for arc suggestions and not have several arc creators pop up to pimp their arcs, even if you ask that they don't. As a result, I'm giving more credence to arcs that are not the posters' own.

Every arc by @PW and @PoliceWoman are excellent. Great stories, great writing, great attention to detail, humorous and fun. I hope this person gets alot more exposure, some of the arcs are good enough to seem professional.

The one where you go back to your teens was an especially great story.

I just published an arc which'll give you your own lair, faceless henchmen and plot to take over the world. Your contact works for you, not the other way round. The final details of what your fiendish Device actually does I leave to the players imagination, so that can be as horrible as you like. I hope it'll be good for that villainous feel that CoV sometimes lacks.

It's #92560, Your Evil Victory Is Nigh.

To avoid this being solely about me, arc #16754, The Great Fromage Incident made me laugh.

I played this one recently and recommend it as well. It's a fun ride.

For a really fun one mission story arc, try Nuking the Fridge, Arc ID: 28231. Help Radio expose Television's biggest blunders.

Also, for the story arcs found in my signature:

HISS and Heiress is a story arc where you help Manticore investigate Wyvern imposters and learn of a family secret.

Found and Lost sends you to rescue a kitty, and of course leads to more mystery and adventure

Low Tide is a quick little fun mission, meant more for a good lowbie romp than true storytelling, but it has some entertaining dialog and I have had numerous requests to turn it into a full arc. I'm working on that but I'll likely publish it as a sequel instead as I don't want to make that particular arc longer. Darn the 3 arc limit :/

It's not mine, but I'd just like to pimp the arc "One Million Eyes" (ID: 71933) by @minimalist. I haven't laughed so hard at an arc since I played Footsteps Initiative, but it's also got a fairly tragic story woven throughout. Pay special attention to the dialog inbetween missions, as it will become relevant later on.

If I have only one complaint, it's that the humor and the tragedy are sometimes too much all at once to the point where I'm not sure which I should care about the most. You'll see what I mean on the AV fight in the final mission. Either way, he did an utterly fantastic job of writing it, and the concept is so clever and original that it's something you really should absolutely play.

I have 2 published that are meant as parts 1 and 2 of a trilogy. 3 coming soon. See my signature for ARC ID's.
They are meant for high level toons to solo or for a decent size , balanced team of lower toons though the official range on mish 1 is 1 -54. The second is lvl 37 minimum I believe. Anyway there is a story and its definitley not a farm. If you play I would appreciate any suggestions for improvement.

I would now like to second Vermain's recommendation of "One Million Eyes", which I made a note of earlier. Excellent writing the whole way through, a good mix of seriousness and humor, and a twist which I should have seen coming but didn't (and which makes a lot of sense). I gave this one an enthusiastic, solid 5.

Name of the Arc: Full Moon Rising
Morality: Neutral
Brief Synopsis: This is a story arc that I put together as an origin account of some characters that I roll around in role-play from time to time.

The story itself involves the Crey Corporation fooling around in things that it shouldn't fool around in. Pretty standard, right? Though karma comes full circle, and all hell breaks loose.

What did you like about it: To be honest, it's mine. Though i'm extremely proud of it, albeit, there are still some bugs that I have to work out. It's impossible to catch them all.

I put a LOT of effort into the dialogue especially. Every last little bit of mission detailing and ally rescuing has maxed the character limit. It put my writing skills to the test, that's for sure, but I think the end result was very good, at least in the context of what AE Is capable of doing.

If you'd like to give it a run through, I'd love to hear what you think so that I can make it even better for others to enjoy. If you'd rather not play it due to the fact that i'm toting my own arc, I completely understand. I'm not meaning to toot my own horn at all.

If I run across any others, i'll be sure to post them
