Greetings Heroes & Villains,

We are proud to announce that Issue 13 is NOW LIVE!

To help you enjoy this issue launch the following has been set up for your convenience:
<ul type="square">[*] Character Freespec, one per character has been granted on live servers.[*] Character Tailor Token, one per character has been granted on live servers.[*] Prestige refund, for base owners only, this feature can be accessed by utilizing the base editor tool, once you have done this all prestige that would have been granted from changing out your items will be automatically granted to your base totals.[/list]I'll be updating this announcement as we gather more details so make sure and check back on occasion to see what we have updated. So far we have a bit of reading for you to do to learn all about this Issue and what new features are coming to a City near you.

I really hope you rethink the PvP changes, guys. Other than that, the issue is mediocre especially for the time taken, but so far it's not bad.

Now for a real question. SS/Shield or Mace/Shield? *bwahahaha*

Ok Day Job costumes. Do we sacrifice a costume slot for them? Is there are built-in way to switch into and out of them (spring into action) or is it time to make more macros?

Base editor seems to be very system demanding now. When you move around or are in the process of placing items it causes severe framerate loss and it takes considerably longer to remove or add items to base storage containers.


Friends don't let friends buy an ncsoft controlled project.

Far as I know, day job costumes are just more costume pieces. Nothing unsual about them, no new costume slots.

So have there been some SG badges removed? I noticed my SG no longer has the Improved Igniter badge, and some of the progress bars have disappeared altogether - like the Benedict Dr-3 Turret. Didn't see anything in the notes.

Ya know, when they first introduced the changes, I hated them, but I told myself that I would wait until the "final product" on live before deciding whether or not I should move on to another game.

With all of the feedback given to the devs, it's quite hard to see that they pushed it forward in it's current state. While I won't sit here and bash the issue like the more vocal PvPers have, I will say that these changes totally pushed me in another direction, and that's away from CoH.

I started CoH the day i11 was dropped, and I really wasn't into the game as much, until I stepped foot in a pvp zone and I was "ASSASSIN STRIKED!" for the first by some random guy while I was superspeeding around. The first thought that came to mind was "Oh [censored]!" but ever since then, it's been the PvP that kept me coming back.

This "PvP 2.0" as some call it, should have stayed in beta much, much longer, but oh well, nothing I can do about that now can I?

With that being said, I'd like to thank Coh/CoV for being such a great game, but it is indeed time for me to move on.

Wouldn't hurt to bug it. AFAIK, there were no planned changes to SG badges/ blueprints.

I encourage people to read the patch notes if you haven't been keeping up (I wasn't)...I was pleasantly surprised at a # of things I wasn't aware the depth of including:

- Villain Patrons unlocked
- holy [censored] - a 5th patron power!!!
- invuln buff
- war mace buff
- don't want to level - In Options, a player may now choose to have their character earn No Experience.
- Pocket D Telepad beacon
- new IO sets

While I like what I have seen so far in I13 (apart from misgivings about the PvP changes) I too am eagerly awaiting I14 (the Beta especially). I have some creative juices that need squeezing.

I'm feeling a little poorly today... *koff* koff* Downright ill in fact. I might have to leave *koff* work a little early today and work on my shield tanker.

I'm looking forward to trying out all the new features -- including the new PvP stuff. Contrary to what some have said, it sounds like it will make the experience much better for most of us -- fewer PVPFOTM builds dominating the PVP zones.

Actually, the only downside to this issue I can suss out is that I'll have to log in all my alts tonight and move them to their appropriate Day Job locations before I can start playing my new tank!

See, my thoughts exactly. Log on, move everyone around, create a Shielder and a Painer, check some of the changes to powers (Try new Invuln), Respec like crazy, try out PvP, ect., ect.. The pain, it hurts so good!

Looking forward to getting home tonight. This issue has a lot of stuff that I and my various SG/Coalition mates are going to really enjoy across the board.

Devs: Please investigate the crashing issue. Seems to be very widespread, and MTBF is around 5-10 minutes, making it basically unplayable for those affected (pretty much everyone).

Many comments in the Bugs section.

Well, outside of popping in for a minute before class, I haven't formed an opinion yet. Of course if I could reply to incoming messages I would /tell you guys all about it.

My search-Fu is weak right now. Any other mentions of the "replying to tells is borked all to hell" issue since the beta?

Usernames are cut in half and replying is impossible.

Yup, crashing *would* be a problem...if I could even get access to the login server!


Basically too many 50's to count, but I'm generally a brute/scrapper/tank kind of guy.
