No issues reading the text here. On either 1600x1200 or 1280x1024 resolutions.

[/ QUOTE ]I suppose I should say I'm on 1680x1050, and the width of the browser window is set to encompass all of the website's content without a horizontal scrollbar and with minimal dead space on the sides.

Congratulations on making Website worthy of this great game!

Arghhh! I gotta use the glaringly ugly blue set up for the forums This hurts my eyes, to be honest guys, give me some options with the new forums when they come in, otherwise I doubt I will even spend time to read here much anymore.

The new web site makes me dizzy @_@ its like I'm standing on top of a very tall building looking down, and theres no crappy draw distance to make it seem less intense.

My complaints, off the hip;

The background colors are too muted. Too bright would detract from the content, I understand, but dark-dark-blue doesn't really work for me either.

The constantly cycling trial window is annoying - it might need to be noticeable, but it has all the appeal of a flashing banner ad.

The side menu is nice, in terms of functionality, but again, I don't care for the color choice.

I don't mean to be rude, and you're right and all, IE6 is suck-tastic as all hell. But that's a *whee!*-poor reason for not fixing the issues this introduces.

And while you're TECHNICALLY right about upgrading to IE7 being a good option, it's not available to everyone.

Like myself. Yes, I use Firefox religiously, but I CANNOT upgrade to IE7. I do technical support for several programs, quite literally all the way back to their DOS variants. And some of them REQUIRE IE6 (thanks some moron believing Microschlock and integrating their program with it).

BE THAT AS IT MAY, it means that I HAVE to keep IE6 around on my machines. If, at some time in the future this no longer becomes feasible, (I'm forced to downgrade to Vista, etc), then I'll move it off into a VM or something. But NOT UNTIL.

Compliant code should display properly on ALL browsers with only minimal tweakage. Even one as full of lose as IE6.

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.

From which perspective are the Signature Villains and Heroes supposed to be told from? There are a lot of "I"s from Ghost Widow and down on the list for Villains. Seems like from someone that is gathering information on them, but then the all of the Heroes and Lord Recluse don't seem to feature that same sort of narrating style.

Just a little nit pick on the consistency of the Signature Hero/Villains pages.

Typo in the Black Scorpion page:
[ QUOTE ]
It wasn't long after that Back Scorpion encountered another mercenary who was equally fascinated with quot;upgrades." This woman called herself Silver Mantis.

[/ QUOTE ]

On the same page:
[ QUOTE ]
She is a Stalker, and has somehow gained control over the metal spikes that are screwed into her bones.

[/ QUOTE ][u]She[u] should probably be changed to [u]Silver Mantis[u]. Not good to start a new paragraph that way, especially since the previous one is talking about Black Scorpion.

If you actually read what Lighthouse said, you'll see that he said that they are now aware of the site's shortcomings, and are working on fixing them. He then went on to say that if you want to see the site NOW, you MAY want to use a different browser. He never said "Tough <poop>, not our problem, upgrade your browser."

And if Squez is still reading this thread, I too hate tabbed browsing. Firefox has options that allow you to completely remove tabs. You do have to change 3 or 4 different options, but it's possible.

omg it's about time lol
As a Web Designer myself.. this was a long time coming in my opinion, the old site was horrible looking compared to the other city of sites!

This one looks very nice and easy on the eyes! Great job

To tell the truth, I think the new design is significantly worse than the old one.
The functionality is great, but the visual design is aweful. There is entirely too much graphics for me to be able to focus properly on the text I am trying to read.

Sorry to say it, but in my opinion the new website is two thumbs down.

Main Hero: Flame Blade (Scrapper lvl 50; Katana/Regeneration)
Main Villain: Elenor Seahawk (Mastermind lvl 44; Necromancy/Poison)
My Arcs: #337278: Learning Curve
Fight my Brute: SMASH

I have to agree. The new site feels "foreboding".

In fact, it feels like a cheap Champions Online site knockoff. I know you guys can do better.

To be truthful, I find the new design so disturbing that I doubt I will ever be going to the main website ever again.

I am seriously contemplating embedding the new server status feed into a small web application on my own website. Because that is all I will be needing from the site.

I hate to say it, but there is simply way too much graphics on that page for it to be remotely useful.

There is entirely too much space wasted on graphics, instead of text.

And no flashing images PLEASE.

I sort of like it.. I guess the main thing is that it was about time it got a new look; not like there was anything entirely wrong with the last one, but the design was just getting old.

Now all we need is a new Graphics Interface for in-game. I think a change in something we see every day would be considered a nice feature. Please consider this.. pleeeaaassee.. ^_^

Aww where is the redside skin and CoV branding?

I never really visit the main website except to check vet rewards. Usually I go straight to the forums. Please at least have a CoV skin for these if nothing else.
