What CoX backstory would you want to see?

Up, Up and Decay - The Secret History of Superadine. As shown in PagaonWiki, there are a lot of secrets about dyne that aren't in the lore. Apparently whatever was discovered in the original dyne lab in Boomtown was so explosive Statesman and BABs swore it to secrecy. The cat could come out of the bag and fill in a lot of info about who really created superadine and for what purpose.

SPOILER
Can't recall where I got this from, but a) they were using the brains of the Dyne addicts to explore other dimentions. The guy who founded Portal Corp was one of the clean-up crew that was sworn to secrecy, who use that info as the basis for Portal tech.
b) The Family was also given Dyne supplies. Don't know if they were given it mysteriously or not. But they have a 'cleaner' variety then what your corner gang dealer is selling.
EDIT: Linkies: CoH: Other Worlds Discovered
CoH: Family

I'm aware that Superadine experiments unlocked the discovery of interdimensional exploration, but I don't believe the 'who' behind Superadine has ever been explained, nor what the originators of the drug were doing with this discovery.

I would like to see the story behind Boomtown, which may go along with a re-do of that zone, because it badly needs it.

I'd love an overhaul of Booms...as long as it retains what makes it cool now. Big groups of Council, great for street sweeping(could turn these into Reichsman soldiers trying to dig him up) and of course my beloved Clockwork..oh I love my little robot peoples. And Trolls...Green people are cool too. And to make even better use of the zone, I've always wondered why Dr. Vahz only appears in one arc, to my knowledge. His minions are all over the place at those lvls but you only fight him once. Give him a hideout in Booms.
Stuff I'd like to see:
Hamidon before he was transformed, and maybe mid-way through the process, engulfing a ruined lab or something...
Definitely the 5th Column attack on Independence Port. And the Reichsman.
I'd love more stuff with the Carnival of Light, but that's probably just me.
I'd also love to see some of the really primordial magical events in our history. The banishing of the Banished Pantheon, the creation of the Coralax, the concealing of Oranbega.

Good point, Lady_Sadako - there hasn't been much (if anything) mentioned about the Carnival up until now. Personally I think it'd be neat as all-get-out to be able to flash back to (what was it) 16th century Venice and try to stop the chaos back then. The map ALONE would be awesome...
Another group whose origins I'd really like to see more is the Legacy Chain... not much out there on them.

Sorry Ms_Mesmer, but I'm working on the technical definition here. A waterfall is a river that meets a cliff, not a spring, which I do understand can look like a smaller waterfall. I'm not trying to start a flame war here, but it is an interesting point that Founder's Falls does not have a waterfall, at least not by any geological definition. The springs you pointed out *could* be the falls, but for me that's like calling a patch of dandelions a forest. Considering that we're talking about Paragon City, there's nothing in Founder's Falls that is grand enough to be considered a waterfall. At least to me, anyways.
However, the lack of a waterfall could be made into an interesting story. Maybe it got dammed up and diverted by the War walls? Destroyed by a villain and all that's left is a few springs? Or was it the construction of the Faultline dam than did it?

Maybe a full blow waterfall would be a little much to handle on a live server, and you shouldn't get so worked up about it. Just my thoughts.

Silas' official theme song: Word Up!
My last word on waterfalls, honest.
There is a river running into those cliffs that we don't see the mouth of, The Red River (or one of 2 Red Rivers), it's right on the city map. As noted in my last post, Angel Falls actually works in the same fashion. The river plunges into subterranean caves before emerging from the rock face. There are at least a dozen of those falls at the South end of Founders' Falls, each displacing essentially the same amount of water. Show me the groundwater table that can support that kind of continuous flow in a dozen places in less than a mile of cliffs. Just because you can't actually see the mouth of a river doesn't mean it isn't still flowing, and a flowing river underground is about the only phenomenon that explains the sheer volume of water displaced in Founders' Falls.
My personal guess as to why it looks the way it does is that they programmed the falls to be from an underground river system because they can't really mimic flowing water over flat land very well due to technical limitations, but whoever was designing the map when the game was released had enough knowledge of rivers to put the mouth of one right there and then modelled the falls after real world examples like Angel Falls. It may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think "waterfall", but it does fit the definition, and even follows one of the possible formations of a waterfall seen in the real world.

I would echo the call for more on Astoria, but not so much the darkening or lightening back stories but a re-working of the zone that does the following:
There is an available PVP strike force for villians to remove some mystic barriers that allows the BP to assault the zone and take over when it is currently 'light'. Heroes are alerted about the Pantheon's attack, and can possibly find a mobile contact that directs them to interfere with the villian SF missions as they occur in game, each of which is removing the defenses that hold the BP back. Should the SF ever wipe out, its over and the remaining heros can defeat the BP outbreak and "put the cork back in the bottle".
When 'dark', the hero contact becomes stationary and begins recruiting a PVP task force to set new mystic barriers in place which would allow the zone to be reclaimed, and the villain contact wanders the zone recruiting villains to interfere with the TF in the same manner. Heroes and villians not in SF's or TF's have opportunities to directly help/hinder these transformations by capturing/controlling key sites of the zone. This would lead to a constant in-game pendulum swing for this zone.
And I think the BP really need to show Crey what the word 'revenant' really means - by bringing all the heroes buried in Moth Cemetary to their aid during the overrun attempt (side thought - where are Atlas and Talos buried?).
I like the notion of African mission tie ins for the BP. I've always liked the name Adamastor - Adam (man of earth) and astor (a fragment of the zone name) which provides a solid connection to the BP here; but is actually a real world mythologoical creature tied to the Cape of Good Hope. So maybe he should return to haunt any African missions and leave the revenant Atlas and Talos as GMs in Astoria.
Just call me "The Pool Guy" - cause I believe that power pools are the ultimate in powerset proliferation. Fewer powers to develop and available to all.
"ADVERBS - we define action!"
"ADVERSE - we are action!"
How about we get to enter the comic books stores in game and get to read the CoH back issues.

The fog in Dark Astoria can get very tedious. But it is an interesting zone and most of my toons still need the BP mask badge so it would be great if there was a contact with TF there. It would also be great to tie that into the skies clearing up for a while.
While it seems to me that there are plenty of Carnie options both blue and red side already, they would be a natural fit for a MC flashback arc.
I would also love to see more about Scirocco. His freedom fighter/terrorist background could be played many different angles and lots of stories could come from that.
I think I'd also like to see more of the Knives of Artemis and the Legacy Chain as far as heroside goes...
