Based off of the Getting VD and Stripping Clockwork discussion/thread that originally took place in Guardian channel Febuary 14, 2009.

The Naked Clockwork inspired AE arc, Unclothed Clockworks (AE doesn't like the work naked) is now published. Arc ID 265517.

Oh, and the SavPepsi discussion took place May 1st, 2009.

When the opportunity shows itself, I do try to steer conversations into the right direction. That said, the primary parties of the Naked Clockwork Scandel (namely me, Moiread, and the Queen of Naked Clockwork, faldette) are still around, although I'm not here very often anymore. Trying to fix that though.

With my return from my 28 day long CoX drought, I'm finally getting around to putting the finishing touches on my AE arc, Unclothed Clockwork. But then I discovered that the original thread has gone bye bye. So here it is, it all it's Moi-embaressing, attempted-head-exploding glory.

To put this into context, this conversations took place on the Guardian global channel Febuary 14, 2009 aka Valentine's Day. It has been slightly better editted, including a brief related Tell exhange I had with Wall of Knight.

Do have the question of whether an I11-related update is in the works. After all, Kheldian related beings do play a signifigant part in some of the new content.

Can't recall where I got this from, but a) they were using the brains of the Dyne addicts to explore other dimentions. The guy who founded Portal Corp was one of the clean-up crew that was sworn to secrecy, who use that info as the basis for Portal tech.

b) The Family was also given Dyne supplies. Don't know if they were given it mysteriously or not. But they have a 'cleaner' variety then what your corner gang dealer is selling.

First off, a general sound of fustration, cause I was just writing up some unanswered questions in CoX storylines, but I can't find my CoX notebook. Guess I'll just have to put in what I do remember:

Possible exploration of the Rogue Arachnos/Malta connection.
The various hints about Weaver 1 in the 40-50 villian arcs brought to a head.
Hess's connection to Arachnos.
Why, in Rikti War I, the Rikti avoided Talos Island, but during the I10-now Rikti attacks, go after it just like anyplace else.
What happened to Lord of Frosts, head of the Japanesse Imperial Wind superhuman group during WWII, after killing Captain Volcano near the end of the war.
More about the Rulaaruu, such as his imprisionment by the Midnight Squad in the 60s-70s.

I know there are more, but these are the ones I haven't seen in this thread yet (in what I've read, think I've only read up until page 9).

I am SO creating a mission where a bunch of AI heroes are beating up Positron for having to run through his Task Force.

I so want to see a demo video of the 'reception' set to Ballroom Blitz. Also want to see (haven't looked at comic yet) the Gag Gift Arrow from Psyche's Bachorlette party that I had to retrieve for them.

Kins/temp powers are not required for Speed Demon. About 4 hours ago I got it with Super Jump (Slotted with the +Stealth set), Hurdle (3 slotted jump IOs) and Sprint (1 lv 50 run IO). Total time, 21.0 seconds. No idea how I did it, just know that it took a few runs to get use to the extra speed SJ gave me over CJ.

I remember my first (only) earthquake. Living in Wisconsin we don't get many. I was playing video games when suddenly the house shaked, similiar to really bad winds (which is what I thought it was). Next day I heard about a minor Earthquake in Illinious (sp).

Was anything damaged?

When Statesman appeared in Paragon City, many of the villains there decided they needed a new home. The Rogue Isles was an obvious choice. Many already had connections there and the little nation’s “friendly” attitude made it a perfect choice. President Oakes was no fool. He knew that if he resisted these newcomers with their gangs and occasional superpowers things would not turn out well. But at the same time, he had bargaining chips – citizenship, diplomatic immunity, and other protections from American justice. And he had friends in the high places of America who were happy with the Rogue Isles just as they were. Deals were struck – in exchange for “playing nice” and taxes, the government turned a blind eye – and the Rogue Isles became a haven for the super-powered and evil.

During this time the first of many Arachnos cells arrived in the Rogue Isles. Representing itself as just another villain organization needing protection, the team quickly set up a base for its operations in the US. Avoiding spectacular raids and sabotage, it devoted most of its effort to intelligence gathering and influencing American policy. Lord Recluse did not overlook the Arachnos cell when he assumed control of the organization itself. Recognizing the value of a base so close to the US, he placed trusted agents (as much as Recluse trusted anyone) in charge and violently purged those he perceived to be troublesome. Once this was done, he ordered the station to go underground for the coming storm. This caution paid off when World War II broke out. President Marchand (Oakes’ “elected” predecessor) officially declared the Rogue Isles neutral, albeit with Allied leanings. When the 5 th Column menace alarmed the US, Marchand’s army waged a visible “war” on Column members on the islands, just to placate the Allies. It was Arachnos’ lower profile that allowed it to survive relatively unharmed.

And then Lord Recluse vanished – but even while the rest of Arachnos slid into turmoil, the hidden cell continued toward some unknown goal. Secret projects were started. Politicians were bought, rivals brought down. Men – and villains – were recruited. Someone was giving orders, but no one knew who.

Many of the facts are true in the article. Marchand went up against Oakes for Presidency. He was neutral, but visibily fought the 5th Column. This gives yet another date for Reculse's coup/attempted coup in the Rogue Isles, but otherwise it fits up until that point.

Anyone know who the current figurehead occupying the Presidency in the Rogue Isles?

One point I have yet to see mention is who the blonde undercover chick was that worked with Manticore. I'm thinking Swan, based off the blonde hair and her links with Manticore in our reality.

Another point, exact idenity of the 'rebels' Recluse and Manticore wiped out. 'Foreign terrorist driven out of the Los United States many years ago.' Got a couple theories:

5th Column (it's where everyone else is going)
Sky Raiders (I seem to recall an arc where some bigwig associated with Council or Sky Raiders trying to make a break for South America)
Council (See above)
Malta Group (Doubtful, but they fit the description)
Arachnos (I seem to remember that Arachnos was spawned out of a central group from which the 5th Column also came. Perhaps he's leading the 5th Column now instead of Arachnos)

Yet another point: In the article it said 'Simon Sinclair, the original Manticore, and his wife were killed by an assassin called Protean. In the savage attack, Back Alley Brawler, friend of the family, was put into a coma. Justin was the
only witness.'

According to what's listed in his Paragonwiki profile, Back Alley Brawler killed Protean, earning Manticore's respect. So yet another differance between this reality and ours.

Need to check my Aeon continuity, but I did notice this: According to the article, Recluse lead a unsuccessful coup against President Marchand in 1963. Here is one of the plaques from the Arashnos Rising History badge, located in Grandville:

Now for some Dr. Aeon info, he first 'appeared' in 1990 shortly after the former Governer Randall Kirchoff, was killed by a reckless scientific prodigy named Dr. Carl Egon, who was then 'executed.' So either Egon is pretty old, or another change from our dimention.
