What CoX backstory would you want to see?
Anyone else notice in the DA rtf that was posted the story keeps contradicting itself about why it looks the way it does?
for instance
It says theres an illusion cast on the area to keep people from seeing the devastation, but heroes over level 20 are strong enough to see through it. But when you go there, its a modern city, and the text says no one has lived there since 1890.
There's contradictions all over the place in the actual game. So I guess you could say it's tradition.
I should do another answers tally and see where things stand...

Most of the stuff written here plus more backstory about the city and the heroes' influence on it: " A special commission was created in 1940 to investigate possible solutions to the problem. After much discussion, including serious consideration of creating a subway systema consideration suddenly rejected after special (and mysterious) input from Statesmana commission member named Harold T. Bradbury, a former Chicago transit supervisor, suggested an elevated system.[...]" From here.
What I mean is, Statesman has been around for long, as have been others heroes. Even though they're heroes, they surely changed some stuff to their own ends. What are these ends, what was changed and why?
Oh, and Dark Astoria. We've waited long enough, thank you. Exploring the ruins of Boomtown too would be nice.
[/ QUOTE ]
That mysterious discussion with Statesman? More than likely he was explaining that the heroes knew about Oranbega, and that digging would create a world of hurt far worse than an elevated could generate.
And the linked article mentions the Red Line, one thing I kept hoping to see restored. Now quite a bit has been absorbed by the Green and Yellow lines.
Eden is such a cool, yet vastly under-utilized zone. It needs some serious reconstruction to begin, and definately some contacts with missions. Perhaps explain some more of the story of that zone?

Crazy NIMBY's, Railroad robber barons, and kickboxing Engineers, Oh My! Go back in time and join the fight to save a San Francisco icon!
Okay, read through the whole thing and most of the stuff I'm interested in has been mentioned...lots.
The one I didn't see was something the do with the Croatoan eternal war. There's a lot of back story regards to why they're here now, what everyone's angle is, etc. But from what I can tell not a lot on how the eternal war started in the first place. Kelly Nemmers mentions the Tuatha might be a new addition to the spirit world, appearing about the time the Fir Bolg started spilling into the real world. Katie also mentions that the Tuatha were around when the Cabal still lived in Roanoke. Where were the Tuatha until then? I'd be cool if we could flashback to the time and see everything happen...their entrapment in the spirit world (all of them, not just the Tuatha) and how the Red Caps killed all the males and such.
Slightly related: What about the artifact that opened Croatoa in the first place? Where is it now (and the numerous other artifacts in the game's lore)?
The rest of the things I'm interested in (besides the REALLY popular stuff which I can safely say I'm interested in as well ) include:
The Monks of the Four Winds and the Order of the Four Winds. Fully five major characters seem to be deeply involved with this group (Scirocco, Ice Minstral, Levantra, Borea, and Seraphina). There's SO much there. The current Scirocco's fall from grace, the death of the previous one, Ice Minstral's rise to power, etc. How are they involved with the Vanguard? For that matter, are they involved with the Rikti?
Especially early/middle range of villain side there is a lot of talk about the Coralax. Various other factions (Slag Monsters) have been associated with them via the red coral. Recently they've been ported over to Heroes and along with the added ability to swim underwater in the new tile sets I'd guess there's a good possibility they're going to be a focus of new content. (Just an idea/hope)
This leads into my personal interest in the gods. There's a question about the god's associations with magic's creation. When Hequat raised the island of Mu it disturbed the Coralax, but Merulina didn't react (not sure if that's before or after s/he went silent). Has Merulina actually interacted with the other gods directly? Things like that. We fight Hequat in Scirocco's Patron Arc, I don't see why we can't at least see/talk to/learn more about the other gods.
Someone mentioned States and LR's experiences with the Well of the Furies. I'd like to extend that to the Well of the Furies in general. At least four people in the game are knowingly effected by the well (States, LR, Stheno, and Trapdoor). Operative Grillo's arc highly suggests Arachnos is highly interested in them and is doing experiments. Where are they getting their supplies to do the experiments? Surely not just from LR's blood. (forgive me if I'm missing something, I haven't done all the red-side content yet)
There's been questions and theories thrown around about who changed the Rikti in the first place. I'd like to learn something a little more concrete.
Along the lines of the first Rikti invasion a cool flashback mission/arc/tf could be becoming a part of Alpha team. There were hundreds of heroes in that line-up. Surely the surviving Eight wouldn't remember a few extra faces that 'died' before names could be given.
I second the idea of the Lord of Frosts/Captain Volcano story. That story has always interested me and I'd like to know where the Lord of Frosts is holding up now.
A lot of backstory seems to be focused in Africa. The war of the gods took place in north Africa (where the Sahara is now). Mr. Bokor's arc includes refrences to a company based in Egypt. Shadowstar was an Egyptian priestess. The list (very likely) goes on. Maybe we could have a Cimerora-like zone based in Egypt during the peak point of the Egyptian gods?
I think that's it for me. The only other thing I could possibly think of is something to do with Alpha Upsilon 24-2 (the world where your character rules and kills off all life) but that'd be difficult since each character is very unique.
Edit: Confused Mot (mentioned earlier in the thread) with Merulina (the actual Coralax goddess).
Nevermind a mission, I would just like to SEE what Reichsman looks like. I imagine it as a cross between Statesman and a 5th column guy for some reason.
I dont know if it was mentioned but id like to see that head of some of the factions. I want to fight the Tsoo boss. Maybe the skulls as well. Goldbrickers, Lucidites, Coralax, i dont know if there are SA involving them but ive not run across em. I second everybody with the story of Dark Astoria...its my favorite zone. I think the best story arcs are Faultline how every contact leads to another with another part of the story. Id like to see that in some of the other zones...everything interacting with everything else in the zone. Thats awesome. I want more meat in my stories...give me a reason to want to get to the end of the mission so i can read the story.
Here's one I found kinda randomly. Infernal's backstory mentions a T'Keron and a Valmaz. The backstory mentions that T'Keron, Valmaz and K'Varr (Infernal) all came to our Earth (the one we play in). T'Keron and Valmaz were bound together somewhere and even Infernal isn't sure where that is. Unless it's Ba'tZul, the demon fought at the end of the Virgil Tarikoss SF (Infernal doesn't mention either in his text as far as I know), I'd kinda like to see where they ended up/what they're doing now.

Well it's NOT Bat'Zul, Bat'Zul predates Infernal by thousands of years, just on Primal Earth. I believe Infernal is searching for his lost friends in the ancient Mu ruins below Nerva Archipelago. You can find him there doing this in any number of level 35-40 arcs.

I'm sorry if I'm missing something, but every instance I can find of Infernal (via Paragonwiki) has him either as a Vindicator (rote hero with no other agenda other than to do good) or looking for his mother, Lilitu. In none of the instances I can find of him does he mention either T'Keron or Valmar. Again, if I'm missing something, please correct me.
well, I'm a little fuzzy but when I fought Infernal for Magus Mu'Drahkan, he accused me of killing or harminga friend of his during the battle. I'll be honest and say I don't remember the details, but that's what leads me to believe that Infernal was present looking for a fallen friend.

Ah, I see what you're referring to. He was talking about Agent Najjar, the boss of the previous mission.

Silly names.
<QR> I would like to see some missions revolving around MAGI SERAPH ELITE and those organizations in city hall in AP.
I mentioned, in another thread that was beaten to death by trolls, expanding the storyline of DA either through ORO or a new contact/event in the zone. There's a little bit of history on adamastor and the banished pantheon in the paragon wiki, which could give players a chance to travel to africa to see how adamastor was transported from there to paragon by the BP. Doing that via ORO would give a chance for villains to participate in that as well.

Actually, if you go back and read through it again, only a select few of the Magi guild are able to see through the fog and describe the devastation. Heroes over the security level of 20 are able to enter, see the illusion, and not become confused by it to the point they are lost forever. It was just about the only way that I could explain the contradiction you implied.
Quote:
Only a select few of the MAGI guild are able to see through this illusion and accurately describe the wasteland of the former village. However, experts agree that this illusion is not substantial enough to cause any apprehension within superheroes of a security level 20 or higher.
Can't believe this thread is still drawing attention - I just hope the devs got some useful info out of it...

Wowk tons of fantastic ideas here.
I'd be pleased with many of them. The Dark Astoria or Boomtown changes would be great. Oroborous missions to let you get back to the old Faultline and Rikti Crash Site would be fun. Brass Monday and the 5th in IP would be great to see.
I'd also like to see more about some of the lesser-mentioned Freedom Phalanx members, particularly the trainers. Someone mentioned Numina already, but no one seems to have mentioned Mynx. There's one badge which mentions her, and little else. Swan, too, gets very little attention. And what about some of the other lost souls in the game? The Djinn who is the magic store in Brickstown, Ghost Falcom, the lost time-travelling doctor, etc.
While Oroborous missions would be fun, I'd like to see that be saved for things that have to be in the past, if possible. A mission where you do a favor for them, or have to find something they used to have etc. that could fit in the main storyline would be even more fun, if you ask me.
(Can we at least see an "Ask About This Contact" option on the trainers?)
I'm such a geek. Some of my heroes have journals.

Serafina? Pick Scirocco as your patron on redside, and you'll get a lot more of her backstory.
Glad to see this thread of mine is still getting attention - I was able to grab a LOT of useful information on what the players want to see out of this thread, and am working on what can really only be called an uber-video based on this.

I'm still looking for some back story on the Shadow Shard. Dark Astoria would be neat too
i want to see DA turned into a PvP zone.
Blood, blood blood, and myst^^
With all these Hommages to Sam Raimi and such,
facecrashes in the buildings, that would BE PVP

No one goes there therefore, it's a PVP zone.
So is Ravenholm.

Let's stay on topic here.
Speaking of which, I want to see more backstory that involves the construction sites in Steel Canyon and Port Oakes
Maybe I missed it but I would love to see some of the old before the Rikiti..maybe even before WW2..Midniters stuff things hinted at that took place in the 20s and 30s...
