The whole of the game has this humongous tapestry of story threads and events and whatnot, but a large majority of them have only been hinted at. I'm curious to know what some folks would like to see actually fleshed out, explained, developed, whatever...

For myself, that list includes:

The destruction of Astoria

Let's be careful not to awaken Mot while digging around in that story!

My ideal storylines would be:

1) Dark Astoria, obviously.
2) Everyone mentions Ghostwidow and War Witch, but what about the real powerful good ghost? Numina of course. Would be great to travel to the centre of the earth as part of her team, and see how she died.
3) Anything to further Sister Psyche, only because she is the coolest Super Heroine of all time!
4) Who is Lady Grey?! (As old as Statesman, super cool, AND she is british! What more do you want people?!)
5)To be in Brass Monday, when PSyche and the others save the world from the poison.

Thats all, feel free to get working on them, pronto devsters!

Excellent thread. Keep it coming. I love all the ideas.

Heya Hero 1, long time no see. Must be busy working on new content I suspect

I would love to go back to the '60s and help the Midnight Squad take down Rulaaru. It would give some cool background context to the Shadow Shard. That would be boss

The Disappearance of Talos is another good story.

That'd be a Nemesis plot. And no, I'm not even joking. He went to their dimension and mutated them into the appearance they have today. They actually used to look like ordinary humans, but the Lost prove that one can turn into a Rikti. Why did he do it? Who knows.

I have always wanted a story where we have to save Talos from erupting. Since that dome we always gather on is a volcanic lava dome to the best of my memory of the story of Talos.

Taking that back story and running with it would be worth it to me.

Also going with everyone on the Dark Astoria bit.

Honestly, flat out I would love to get more story on some of the villain zones, like what exactly happened in the Black Mariah district of St martial?

Backstories for Numina and Ghost Widow. Well, technically they're already out there, but we hear about it second-hand. Stick 'em in Ouroboros, I want to see what they looked like beforehand!

I always figured she's the modern equivalent of Morgan LeFey. Perhaps a reincarnation or an Incarnate of her.

Though Merlin works as well. I can just see her remembering her past life as Merlin one day and going "Oh BOTHER."

Anyway, my suggestions for things would be the following:

How Infernal decided to go good.
Brass Monday
What happened to Dark Watcher while he was missing for decades.
The Reichsman battle
Leviathan
More Clockwork King!
The final battle against the first Rikti Invasion, where so many sacrifices were made.

Also, talnar- Miss Liberty and Ms. Liberty are two separate people- that's why there's two secret identities for her (Miss Liberty is Ms. Liberty's mom).

[/ QUOTE ]

And don't forget the original Liberty, Mrs. Liberty. Mother and grandmother to the other two, and wife of Statesman.

I believe you mean Maiden Justice.

You were correct up to here.

[/ QUOTE ]
I certainly don't recall ever seeing anything about this. As far as I know, the Rikti are alternate-dimensional humans who deliberately bioengineered themselves into their current forms. The Lost are humans who are undergoing a process that turns them into new Rikti soldiers, which is how the Rikti are reinforcing themselves despite not having reliable access to the homeworld. And in any case it's not what caused the Rikti to attack.

Spoiler:

Nemesis deliberately provoked war between the Rikti and humanity in order to weaken both dimensions for an eventual Nemesis takeover. He created robotic duplicates of the Freedom Phalanx and sent them to the Rikti dimension to break stuff. The Rikti traced the duplicates back to our dimension and counterattacked. That was the first Rikti invasion.

This is all revealed in the RWZ story arcs.

Incidentally, I'd like to know whether the Rikti motherships and dropships are actually capable of space travel. Since the Rikti homeworld is basically Earth, and the dimensional jump is apparently safe for unprotected humans (see Portal Corp), the motherships would never have had to leave atmosphere to make the trip...

He did not mutate them, he sent automaton versions of the FP members to attack them.

I'd like to add to the list, the Slaughter of the Red Hand Pirates!

The sealing of Bat'zul, would be another cool one. (For Heroes of course)

And for me, I would like to see the Binding of Rullaruu to the Shadow Shards.

[/ QUOTE ]

There could be an EPIC TF here, in helping push back Rularuu and the being there for the fragmenting and being part of the struggle of the various fragments of Rularuu (Faathim, Lanaruu, etc.) to settle the Shard. Even the destruction of the Shard itself; what was the zone(s) like before Rularuu was banished there?

I don't see why this would be Hero exclusive content. If Bat'Zul were not bound, the Rogue Isles would be a flaming hell hole, not a safe haven for masked ne'er do wells.

i'd love to see something on all the Heroes that have Statues through out Paragon City.
why do these bums deserve statues?
what great and grand occurance makes them worthy of Paragon's highest honor?
yeah i've love to see Ouroboros missions that let you in on their deeds at critical points in their history.

Oooh, interesting idea. Then we can have a story arc where, if you're a villain, you try and retrieve and destroy her painting(or control her with blackmail), and as a hero you try and retrieve and save it so she doesn't die.

Posted

How about they add Shoplifting/highjacking for vills. We steal the BM truck, then run over heros in Atlas park! Great Story! Make vills feel like vills!

What I'd like to see

1. WW2 in North Africa, the massive hero vs. tank battles. Also in Europe, D-Day etc. The massive hero vs. hero battles of the pacific, Captain Volcano vs. The Lord of Frosts. The Storm Korps, Fighting in Russia and the Soviet Defenders of the Motherland. just to name general ideas.
2. And one no ones mentioned, The Cold War and the clandestine metahuman fights in the USSR, South America, and Asia.
3. Something the Paragon City back story skips entirely (from the entirety that I've read atleast), The Vietnam War. No doubt there could be something the communists did that caused the U.S. and their heroes to fail. Who knows, it says secret supersoldier battles were common, maybe there's something they're not telling us? Maintaining secrecy and eliminating incriminating evidence was a common practice during the cold war.

just a few thoughts

There is one line in the LGTF that I would love to see really expanded on, because this one line speaks a lot to me. It is spoken by one of the Rikti sent on an ambush after you free either Glacia or Infernia. I don't know the precise words, but it's something along the lines of "Prevent the Omega Terrorists from escaping"

I think about it everytime I run the TF. Glacia and Infernia were not Riktized, so they survived in a hostile environment, still thinking we were at war with them, for years on the Rikti homeworld. They must have fought tooth and nail for every thing (Eatting the bland Rikti food since they didn't have the psychic taste buds, etc).

Omega Terrorists implies so many things, things that if handled by a skilled author and mission designer, would be amazing to play...

How many Rikti orphanages did Glacia and Infernia blow up, for example? Or how many Rikti civilians were taken down by the actions of the Omega Terrorists...

I'm liking the idea of a Dark Astoria TF that would have (for at least some of it's instanced missions) the zone *without* the fog/darkness... For someone who's bumped into buildings in there since beta, actually being able to SEE THE WHOLE ZONE(!) even for just one mission, would be 'squee'

[/ QUOTE ]

I guess you missed the (was it a whole issue? I want to say it was) time when there was a glitch and the fog went bye-bye.

That zone is like old Faultline, a hidden gem.

[/ QUOTE ]

Khhhaaaaaannnnn!!

(i guess i did)

Anyways, just thought of another thing i'd like fleshed out story-wise...

Just what the hell is a 'Code 6' and why has there been one going on at 105 North Avenue for FOUR YEARS?!

Yii...

Wow. I thought my little clutch of RPers were the only ones who cared about Astoria.

I'm reading this thread and I'm both psyched and oddly possessive -- we spent a long time tying together disparate arcs to fill in the blanks of a mostly incoherent DA canon story, darnit! It was a lot of fun, and was the first order of business when player-generated content was gonna be available. Ah, we had it all... tracing lines of power in the Family organization from the Skulls and Trolls on up, finding out their ties to the Pantheon, investigating buildings in Astoria to find clues as to what happened, digging into old records and journals to see players large and small (Baron Zoria, Spanky Rabinowitz, Nathaniel Frost) conspiring, etc, etc...

Dazzle me, Hero 1!

It was fun.
