Actually now that we have Going Rogue and Praetoria any particular reason we shouldn't have Empathic Corruptors (wouldn't port it to Masterminds due to the fact AB would be mostly useless on pets) and Pain Domination Defenders & Controllers now?

Dark dominators. Other than "my desk is filled" and "fudge off, i'm having coffee" Is there any reason the DEVs have not made this wonderfully themtic pairing? Hardly take any work too, really.

Really want to see alot added here. I find rolling controller alts to be boring since I can't usually keep to a theme. Lacking defense sets to match most of the powers here such as earth and plant. I know we can come up with something plant or earth related as a team buff set.

I'd really love to see a psionic scrapper or stalker primary and secondary. Powers from other sets that could fit: Mind Probe, Telekinetic Thrust, Drain Psyche, Psychic Shockwave, Indomitable Will, Mind Over Body, World of Confusion, Concentration, Foresight, Mask Presence, Mind Link, Mental Training.

Looks like almost enough powers to make a psychic defense power, and four powers for a psychic melee power.

You forgot Controllers. I'd expect to see it on Controllers before Defenders for sure.

It gets a little hold heavy on the top teirs but one of those would likely have to be substituted since it involves infecting a henchman and the inability for controllers to direct their pets would weaken the effectiveness. Otherwise, the set is mostly about debuffing and when you add in a weak heal and a rez power, it feels like a Defender primary...albeit one of a grim nature. Good thing GR came along to fix that!

I meant as a secondary. I think it'd be pretty rad to stroll around with a Plant/Poison Controller. It just seems like it'd be a good alternative to Radiation Emission for a debuff Controller, while maintaining (as you pointed out) a weak single-target heal and a rez power that makes your teammate barf after 90 seconds >_>.

The henchman-infecting power will have to get changed to proliferate the set, anyway. Defenders and Corruptors don't get true pets, and the power doesn't work on other people's pets.

I don't think there'd be too much of an issue with Controllers having Poison Trap--it's more situational and less abusable than Rad's Choking Cloud, which Controllers have ample access to--but you may be right, and Paralytic Poison might have to get changed out for a new power as well.

Im not sure where to post this exactly, since some of it is new power ideas too but for Power Prolif I'd like to see:

For Doms and Blaster's Secondaries:
-A Spear/staff [like cimerora guys but fleshed out] assault set
-A sword or axe [just swinging blade of some sort] set
-stone and thorns ported to blasters

For MMs I came up with two sets. Both relatively easy to make:

-Angel Pet Set [if you can bind demons why not other celestial beings?]
*sonic attack sm
*tier 1- 3 Angel Warriors with sonic attack and sword attacks
*sonic attack med
*equip
*sonic attack cone
*tier 2- 2 smaller Cherubs with sonic attack and storm support
*"Blessing" special pet buff
*tier 3- 1 Angelic Guardian with sonic attack and fire sword attacks
*upgrade
[OR I also came up with an awesome Wind Blast set that would be great with this MM set instead of all the sonic. see bottom.]


-Tuatha type Swamp Deer Creature Set [slower but sturdier pets]
*entangle [plant immob]
*tier 1- 3 tuatha small [can use tuatha as starting point then make more swampy]
*throw tree stump [dont the tuatha have that power? and redcaps?]
*equip
*swamp wave cone [or like bile spray cone would work]
*tier 2- 2 tuatha large [ditto]
*Carrion Creepers [extra random power that sorta fits]
*tier 3- 1 hyper tuatha swamp beast [uh huh]
*upgrade


and then for blasters/defs/corrs i have this power set:

AEROBLAST!!!: [in correct order, to compare with other blaster sets. will need some new graphics but not all.]
*gust - low dmg ranged click attack, usual [new graphic]
*zephyr - like gust but moderate dmg ranged click attack, usual [new graphic]
*sharp draft - like gale but useful cuz of Moderate Dmg, cone, kb [Gale Graphic]
*jetstream snipe - extreme dmg, long range, usual [New Graphic]
*aim [Usual Lame Aim Graphic]
*sandy breeze - like gale [w minor dmg - kb] but diiirrrty. -acc or stun [Gale Graphic but with crap flying in it]
*funnel flurry - toggle, AOE, moderate dmg. special- reduced speed fly, or if already flying/hovering +flyspeed. foe kb. [use the graphic of tornado but have under player as if keeping him lifted/propeling him forward and knocking back foes.]
*summon cyclones - [like scirocco's devils] summons 3 cyclones that last for a while attacking your foes. [but with the graphic of the water spout made to look more like wind [basically no blue in it].]
*tempest - extreme dmg end draining super gust pummel AOE attack. usual [use altered whirlwind graphic with down drafts]


man i am so creative you should hire me to help you all think of sets. go ahead, ask about my animal control set that will knock your socks off. it's easy to customize and totally works compared to other control sets.

oh i also wanted to add:

the animation for dual pistol blast to be added as an option for MMs dual pistols. please.

also, for blast and dom secondary:
-besides the above mentioned sword/axe or spear/staff, a sort of multi-weapon option with crossbow or regular bow[more for dom since blast already has bows], and small daggers/knives. all of these can give a good meelee/ranged assault/support set. and most of this is already in game ready to be ported into a set!

weapons for other archetypes!!!!! flame sword is cool but not enough to keep me happeh

Broadsword on Tankers

I wanted to make one on my second character I made a week into my trial and was very disappointed that I couldn't. It always seemed very strange to me that Dual Blades is available to a tank (a rather scrapperish attack set imo) but Broadsword - the weapon of choice for tanks in every other game - isn't.

Proliferation is only for things that already exist.

Your staff concept does not exist, and never will. Castle and BAB have gone on record many times in stating that the only thing harder than rigging up a staff/spear set of nine powers in the game would be making an actual whip melee set...and since the three ENERGY whip attacks from Demon Summoning took as long to animate as a full set of nine normal powers I have only two words for you.

FAT CHANCE.

i dont see why they cant have the simple spear throw power from cimerora [which already exists], plus maybe a couple stabbing attacks or swing attacks, using a sword or axe meelee set animation with the spear in hand instead. even if it was for an epic pool maybe so there are only like five powers anyway. could even be the single throw power and a single stab power mixed in a "weapons arsenal" set with a few different weapons. and im not asking for an energy spear.

besides, much more than that i simply want the secondary set of ANY customizeable weapon for blasters and doms.

also now that i think about it some more, how about a "Hellfire" epic power set.

you have three whip powers to choose from, throw in a shield/self buff, and then you have the demon pet's hellfire attacks to choose from, or ember shield team buff would be sweet.

shouldn't be difficult at all, would be great for almost all archetypes. i love what you've done for the whip and it could go with lots of my toons as an epic pool [esp my fire/storm troller!!!] but the demon pets are too bulky/noisy/plain ugly lol.

I think if you focus on fairly-straightforward proliferation (i.e., existing powers and sets that exist in one of the AT's and could be used by a different AT, or many existing powers that could be combined into a new powerset) versus the creation of entirely new powersets (i.e., significant portions of a powerset that would need to be created from scratch), you could come up with the following list:

Blaster
Primary: Dark Blast
Secondary: Dark Manipulation, Ninjutsu, Radiation Manipulation

Brute
Primary: Broadsword, Spines
Secondary: Regeneration

Controller
Primary: (no easy ports)
Secondary: Dark Miasma, Poison (Chemistry), Traps

Corruptor
Primary: Psychic Blast
Secondary: Force Field, Poison

Defender
Primary: Poison (Chemistry), Thermal Radiation
Secondary: Fire Blast

Dominator
Primary: (no easy ports)
Secondary: Blade Assault, Dark Assault, Ninja Assault (MA/Archery), Radiation Assault

Mastermind
Primary: (no easy ports)
Secondary: Cold Domination, Kinetics, Radiation Emission, Sonic Resonance

Scrapper
Primary: Energy Melee, Ice Melee
Secondary: Energy Aura

Stalker
Primary: Fiery Melee, Ice Melee
Secondary: Fiery Aura, Ice Armor

Tanker
Primary: Energy Aura

With Controllers and Dominators, their two problems are the existence of Dark Miasma as a quasi-control set, and Illusion Control being a poor candidate for Domination.

  • Dark, as a control set option, would be better off if it had a pure control set that borrowed heavily from Dark Miasma (and Dark Blast) in order to build its power list, and then would be paired with a Dark Defense set that would offer a mix of Dark Miasma powers and variations on traditional defense powers.
  • Illusion has too many powers currently that wouldn't have a Dominator doing direct damage and control in order to create Domination. I don't know what you would swap out of the set to make that happen, especially without completely changing the concept of the set, and I don't know if too many new powers would be needed.
Mastermind primaries are, of course, completely left out of any proliferation discussions, because the powerset would have to be built from scratch almost entirely (except caster attacks and general effects of Tier 1 and 2 upgrades). There would still need to be something done to expand the choices on the primary side, but that's not a discussion for here.
I also have not made any considerations for what proliferated sets might interfere with existing APP/PPP powers, but I would offer an option of alternate pools when there would be a conflict or overlap.

This needs to be re-evaluated. Especially since developers have decided to give everyone access to Gravitic effectively re-implementing the "counters the fury mechanism" lame logic that was used to take ice armor and ice melee away before.

Still waiting for Illusion Masterminds...

Tier 1 - Spectral Wounds
Tier 2 - Phantom Army (Damageable of course)
Tier 3 - Confuse
Tier 4 - Spectral Upgrade
Tier 5 - Flash
Tier 6 - Decoys (Damageable "Upgraded" Phantasm Army with some Phantasm Decoy blasts)
Tier 7 - Spectral Terror
Tier 8 - Phantasm
Tier 9 - Illusion Ugrade

Most of it would only be recoding of the Illusion Summoning Power set by the Controllers, with added Pet Upgrades. Spectral Terror is like the "Gang War" or "Hellfire" Aspect of it. Phantom Army already has 3 "pets" in it that can be recoded to take damage instead of being untouchable. Phantasm is the Controller's "Pet" that can be recoded to take orders, and already strong enough for Tier 3 pet. And for tier two, Give a slight buff to the Phantom army by way of adding some of the Phantasm Decoy powers to them, give them a buff of some sort (Maybe a S/L or Energy/Negative Shield) And there we go! If Not Flash, maybe move Confuse up to Tier 5, and put in Blind at Tier 3. If even not that, maybe put in Group Invisibility in instead of Flash for some laughs.

I'll be honest, I don't know much about Coding, etc but it seems plausible to be able to rework it.

Thanks for letting me rant on about this ^.^; I love the Illusion Set on the Controllers, and have been waiting since Masterminds an City of Villians release for Illusion pets... and no such luck yet :/

As long as there are no more attacks they might consider it. Devs have said they never want to do whips again because they were way too much work for each attack. They sure look cool though. That should weigh in too.

Would people rather have 1 really cool looking set or 2/3 straight ports of things the've been looking at for 5-7 years? Guess that's the kind of questions Devs talk about when we aren't around. lol
