Issue 12 Discussion: Major Gameplay Improvements
Hopefully the poppers in BB don't use up that inspiration conversion too much :P
I'd like an option to have the Inspiration tray usage to be from the top of the tray to the bottom of tray, instead of how it is currently from bottom to top.

I have only one request. Once a Mastermind hits 42 give them the ability to summon all of their pets at once already buffed. But also leave the ability for the pets to be summoned individually and be buffed individually. This will cut back on so much down time and i think all Masterminds would greatly appreciate this.

I'd settle for a 'buff all' option that takes the endurance of casting 6 equips (or whatever), but hits all the henchmen at once. Or a 'buff all tier x" option that lets you buff all henchies of a given rank. Again, for whatever amount of endurance using that many 'castings' would cost. I don't think they're likely to give free buffing, but I'd appreciate the time saving. I can live with having to pop a blue or two right after.

Agreed, I play masterminds and I play with masterminds, and the pre-mission downtime while waiting for the MM to summon all 6 of his pets and then buff each one individually is totally unnecessary. I understand that it's only about 2 minutes, but that's a long time for some people. Even barring that, when zoning into a mission where there's a spawn right in the entrance two minutes can be the difference between an XP gain and XP debt and the frustration of knowing that, if you are solo, you will have to drop the mission or find help in the oh so dead world of CoV. No other AT has to make their team wait while they prep their powers for use, so why do MMs? Can you imagine if your elec brute had to rub his feet on the carpet for a couple of minutes to get his static shield going?
A better solution (and QoL fix) for masterminds having to summon and buff their pets all the time:
Have pets persist between zones. Cross from Cap to Sharkhead, your pets go with you. Enter a mission, your pets go with you. Exit a mission, your pets come out with you.
I was actually surprised CoV shipped without this. It's the only MMO I've played where pets *didn't* persist across zones. Heck, most games the pets are still there even if you logout then log back in.
The "summon/buff all at once" suggestion is a lot more practical, though. They could probably rig up something to do that without too much trouble. Persistent pets would be a much bigger technical hurdle. One still worth pursuing, if possible.
I've played pet classes in 4 games (AO, SWG, WoW, and CoV) now and my pets have never persisted when I... Oh no it did follow me in AO. Well in SWG and WoW my pets never followed me when I had to go through a load screen to zone, but that was never a problem because I didn't have to buff my pets after summoning for them to be effective. The whole buffing thing seems like an arbitrary time sink for MMs as a counterbalance for the MM himself having less risk. The only problem with that, though, is that it's more of a punishment for the rest of the team than the MM unless we zone into an ambush. People often want the MMs to go in first to set up, but sometimes the MMs want someone else to go in first to distract any potential ambushes.
Well i was going more for a power that summoned you all of your pets already buffed and drained all of your end but you also can't recover end for 5 seconds or something.

I think the main argument against this is PvP. A level 50 MM could then summon a full contingent of fully buffed pets, and zone into Bloody Bay, e.g.

I think its the code actually. Nothing persists when you leave a zone. Upon reentry all buffs are reapplied (People do this in PvP zones, buff someone, have the person leave and then apply the same buff to stack it).

I would think it could be done with work. But I imagine it is low priority. They did fix it so pets can use elevators on multi map missions, labs, offices etc.
As to the buff all or summon/buff all button, I'm all for it. headache in teams it is and probably much easier to make than persisting pets in zones.
PvP concerns, just disable that power.
Again, it's not PvP concerns most likely, but that summons don't persist over zone changes, which sounds like a code thing, which means it's not likely to be changed. The best solution is still a mass summon/buff. Even then, I've gotten into the habit of summoning and then buffing on the fly as i start the mish.

That actually is a bad example. I remember my mercs, necro and thug minions all becoming drenched in gasoline and igniting to death.
Also Im sure there would be a lengthy recharge if such a power existed. A use at start of mission kind of thing, much like serum. So no constantly summoning new buffed minions would have to be a worry. Imho
This is from a thread on the xp curve smoothing and i was just wondering if it was still on the table or not.
POSITRON said: In Issue 12 (no release date yet, sorry), we are going to have you never dropping below 50% Inf. earn rate when in Supergroup mode. We will look at the impact of that change and base future alterations on that.
Has anyone heard any more on this?
I have not but it would a good idea
I find the PvP complaints of the MM QoL suggestions somewhat unfounded. Most MMs are used only for PvE and the MMs that do PvP are also jerked about by blaster novas ripping through everything they have. I don't think a whole class should suffer because of what might affect PvP when PvP is not what everyone does. Every MM does missions, but not all of them PvP, sorry.

haven't heard anything about it either. It's really the only SG-base related item that we were expecting to see in issue 12 ... would be a shame if it didn't make it into issue 12.
So where do we ask when i12 might be out? :-p

Well, it's probably an accurate answer. But "Between now and April 20th" would be a *good* answer.

A few SG members of mine believe it may be somewhere along the line of May 12th. I think that is more reasonable for the release of Issue 12, after all, we still need to have it tested before being released.

I'm going with May 12 at the EARLIEST
