Oh, it was a suggestion?
Normally I could read those things... Maybe I'm getting old.

I'm going with May 12 at the EARLIEST
be patient, it will be here

We know, for sure, that it won't be released to the Live servers.

* Contact display redesign: Contacts are now listed separately as Active and Inactive, and players can sort contacts by a range of criteria including Name, Zone, and Level Range.

Very nice indeed. I hope this also serves as a precursor to cleanup/reorganization of the badge tabs in a future issue.
So far ish 12 is full of win
Eight configurable new power trays:
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Contact display redesign:
THANK YOU! The sheer lagfest that is often accompanied by opening the contacts window be gone - and never come again!
Will origin and / or enhancement types also be a sort criteria?
Inspiration Conversion:
Hurray!
3-to-1 is sort of steep - could we get credit for items not dropped into the tray because it's full?
Does this conversion count as "crafting" for the badges?
Will we be able to change the shape of the inspiration "tray" / window?
Level Up Boost:
Nice Touch - Thanks for celebrating with us
Chat improvements: Great! ( but, um... )
Can we also get a "disable Right-Click menus" toggle in the settings? Or some way to select what (out of the available options) we would like to see in the menu?
Don't get me wrong, I like the features and menus under right-click most of the time - but with the lag I get sometimes and the way that the camera / character rotation interact I've had some pretty odd things happen while right-clicking (people getting added/removed from Global Friends, etc.)
More Real Numbers:
Numbers are nice! Will all of these numbers be available as part of the City Vault system?

not sure if i'm in the right place,Well is there going to be another game comming out? better to play with i have DirectX10, lets say i have a $3000. machine like to maybe have a new game to keep up with gamers advanced machines, this game is aprox 5 years old time to upgrade.
I'm not sure if this is quite the right place to ask, but since costume creation is one of the changes going into Issue 12... here goes.
Is there any chance we might finally get costume load/save options? When people obviously spend a LOT of time crafting their character's appearance, it would be nice to have an option to save that exact appearance and load it up when creating a new character (or modifying one in icon).
I realize you could end up with some people duplicating each other, but it would make life much simpler when deleting and re-creating yourself as another archetype or another power set combination.
If this has been asked before, I apologize for necro'ing an old thread.
gotta love it and then love it some more.....grats to the Devs

As far as i'm awear there are no current plans to have that oprion. All that is being added is the ability to select the various costume sets in the game such as the Enforcer set, the Vanguard set, the Stealth set etc. Although i am all for your idea, i'm unsure how much extra room it will take up on the servers, if it takes about 1MB to save a costume then your talking in the GBs to do just one server's worth of costume saves.
Still i think it is a brilliant idea, I have a few costumes that i like to just put on all my alts that's effective and i can just do a few tweats here and there without starting from scratch.

I doubt a set of costume data is more than 1k, certainly no more than 3-4k. It also wouldn't need to take up server space at all, it would just store the configuration data on your local drive, the way it does when you save binds to a file.

When you record a demofile, all of the information needed to describe your character's costume is recorded in about 10-15 lines of text. The same goes for any other player characters in the demo. So theoretically, that string of text should be enough to store the current state of your costume, when saved to a local file, and recreate it when loaded back into the editor.
The only thing I'm not sure of is what legal ramifications would be involved with that. The out of game costume editor got nixed because of the possibility that you could create copyrighted characters (i.e., by Marvel) and store them on your local hard drive. Even though no one would see those costumes but you, it was apparently enough of a concern that NCSoft nixed it.
In the online realm, CoH can delete (or change) any characters that violate copyright. They can't touch what you've saved to your hard drive, though, or at least it'll be difficult enough to ensure all copies you may have made of the file are deleted that it may be considered a threat to their arrangement with Marvel.
I'd still like to see actual numbers displayed for the actual sliders, though, so you can write down the numbers yourself. And of course, make the height slider available at Icon.

Not sure exactly what your asking about. The game is four years old yes... That means four years of improvement and content. This is not a console game. Longevity in the MMO market is a measure of success.
If your looking for bling, bells and whistles to display your unholy rig with then it would be in the smooth as butter framerates and being able to turn all your settings to max. If you can do those things and still get max FPS, say in Grandeville, then color me impressed.
If the age of the game is discerning to you then there are more issues then just the age of this MMO.

Actually, the offline character creator decisions pre-dated the Marvel IP issues by a long margin. IIRC, the main issues were that they hadn't planned from the get-go to make a stand-alone char tool, and therefore would have had to divert dev resources away from the actual game into making the tool; and that the char tool would still need access to the actual textures and other graphic resources (as opposed to the info in demo-record, which is basically just a batch of array indices *referring* to textures), so it would end up being a relatively bloated piece of software.

Part of the next free expansion, Issue 12: Midnight Hour, is the inclusion of Major Gameplay Improvements.
From the Issue 12: Midnight Hour Announcement:

Major Gameplay Improvements
* Eight configurable new power trays let players customize their User Interface by placing them anywhere on the screen.
* Contact display redesign: Contacts are now listed separately as Active and Inactive, and players can sort contacts by a range of criteria including Name, Zone, and Level Range.
* Inspiration Conversion: Right click an inspiration to convert three of that kind into any one inspiration of another kind.
* Level Up Boost: Upon reaching enough XP to level up (at all levels), one of each type of large inspiration is immediately cast upon your character, and health and endurance bars are immediately filled.
* Chat improvements: Right click on character names in chat window to ignore, add to friends list, invite to team, etc. Drag any item (enhancement, inspiration, salvage, etc.) into the chat window so that you and others can click a hotlink to view the complete info box.
* More Real Numbers: Players can now display stats on powers before they choose them enabling more informed power selection and new temporary powers allow players to display enemy stats.

Please use this thread to discuss that aspect of Issue 12: Midnight Hour.

Could we have a bit more info on the highlight items? If possible, devs allowing, a sneak peak via screen shot from test?
The can't touch what you have, but they could encrypt it. That would prevent you from developing an offline editor to make things they don't want you to be able to (still) make.
Of course, I can't imagine any actual bitmaps would be stored anywhere, just lines of "slot X texture N color R G B scale Z".
It doesn't matter to me where they get stored, I'd sacrifice a character slot for the space to store all my costumes if it came down to that.
Showing exact numbers on mouse-over would go a long way towards this, it would be a pain to write it all down by hand, but at least you could re-create yourself exactly.
I Know that alot of peope have noprobmels with this but how about makeing Sprints, a clicky insted of a toggle?
one saves end, two makes swift and some of the other speed inprovments more usefull,
Sprint is sposed to be a quick burst of speed, not a faster run on all the time
just one of my many thoughts on how to make the game great and not silly, as is we always run even when just wandering the base, that's silly, so if not giveing us a toggle Walk/Run, then atleast make sprint what it is sposed to be again

[/ QUOTE ]
Let me tell you this, I know a lot of US Marines who can sprint 5 miles or more, and there is nothing "quick" about their bursts of energy or speed.
Making sprint a clicky? Now that is just silly. It cost you endurance, er go it will make you tired if you leave it on, but should you slot it to cost a lot less, then you can use it almost forever, or forever without noticing any differance in your end.
Seems like its already as balanced as anything else in the game. Just my opinion.
still wish it was back to being a clicky,
and I knew noonw would like the idea, but I had to try to post it,
oh well
Just because sprint is a toggle doesn't mean you have to leave it on. Co* has two default speeds, jogging and sprinting. While walking might be a nice option from a RP PoV forced jogging would but very frustrating. At some point realism gets cut for game play.

I've played pet classes in 4 games (AO, SWG, WoW, and CoV) now and my pets have never persisted when I... Oh no it did follow me in AO. Well in SWG and WoW my pets never followed me when I had to go through a load screen to zone, but that was never a problem because I didn't have to buff my pets after summoning for them to be effective. The whole buffing thing seems like an arbitrary time sink for MMs as a counterbalance for the MM himself having less risk. The only problem with that, though, is that it's more of a punishment for the rest of the team than the MM unless we zone into an ambush. People often want the MMs to go in first to set up, but sometimes the MMs want someone else to go in first to distract any potential ambushes.

I don't know if u guys have though about it yet but i thought for issue 13,14 or beyond you add the component of vehicles for your hero/villain.
well i was wondering about changing a power choice in the Devices.. i would like for the Turret to be replaced, by maybe a small assault type bot, not the villan MMpet, but maybe a small version of the vangaurd, Longbow bots, allow the bots have a chosable power of each of the main blaster type power sets...
so that if i made an nrgy/devices, the bot would have nrgy attack pwr.. or allow the player to pick the bot type, and have its attack pwr to be random like the ILL. phantom army pwrs, which are totally random for each summons, between the 3...that might hlp...
just a thought to replace a long set up time/short duration powr choice, with something a lil flashier and more useful... plus it would give the Blasters a pet which would be nice...
but im sure there are other bot types, such as the nemisis/council bots as choices... im sure others have better choices and i welcom all whom has there input..
In response to the more slots please? They're coming. The way the Character Selection Screen is on Test right now, 1 slot is $5.99, 2 is $9.99, and 5 is $19.99. Up to 36 toons per server.
Been gone awhile. Sorry to interrupt. Has a release date been projected on the official issue 12 release?
