Ok, admit it, who went out and spent the $10 as soon as they got the email?

Thursday at 6 pm eastern (and then repeated for three hours) on test, according to the e-mail.
... I just took my 15 minute break to go to the nearest internet cafe and discuss this. Missinformed is right, I am more obsessed with the boards than the game.
1) The wedding: Incredible idea and a masterful event. Love it.
2) Spring Fling: I'm guessing this is a repeat of before, but *shrug*, I'll just sit back and let those that missed the previous events benefit. No harm to me.
3) Looks like Perfect_Pains idea of paying for individual boosts (with which I strongly agreed, on SOME parts) came to fruition. True, this was clearly underway before she suggested it, the woman is clearly a prophet.
Death_Conquerer, while I don't think paying for a minor boost is a bad idea, I very much believe that this is overpriced. $5 or $6 would be out of my wallet without question. $10 is a huge hesitance.
All in all, this is going to be fantastic, barring #3.
I'm in love with love!
(Still, wished I got the fun of posting this first. )
I'd pay $10 if I could also throw that stuff monkeys are notorious for throwing.
But that's about it.
:P
I was scared that I was going to be scooped due to my slow copy and pasting skills!
I thought about getting the add-on but I have my own wedding in 6 months to save for!

So.. what do these costumes look like? I've already got mine planned out, unless the paid costumes are super-spectacular or something.

Seriously sweet!
Also, I agree with Marcian about $10 being a little high.

I'll wait until I find out exactly what the costume pieces are. I'm not going to pay $10 if all I end up getting for my male characters is a tuxedo jacket.

I bought an internet time card and ran across the street on my break! I wanted this more than you!
*checks watch* Oh. This better be my last post before I get back to work. Time to make it valuable!

2 costumes and 4 emotes that you are gonna use for like 1 day, for the low low price of $9.99... PASS!
Are you seriously complaining that you randomly have to pay $10 for something when you don't have to pay for expansions EVER?
I mean you could go play WoW, but you'd have to pay for expansions, card games, plane tickets for a stupid convention, etc just to keep up with the current giveaways/items.
I'll take my $10 CoH items/emotes over the crap other MMORPGs do for money any day of the week.

[/ QUOTE ]Headed to the Tailor on Test after purchasing as I type. Gonna bring my Namesake to the Wedding on Thursday
I'll post screenshots...
Edit: D'oh, forgot that applying codes takes a little while to register on Test, so I'll play with the Live costume creator...

I'm such a sucker for new costumes. I paid the $9.99 immediately after I got the email. I've got a couple of characters that like to get dressed up, so no way I'm gonna pass up formal costumes.

I do think that $10 is pushing it for four emotes and a handful of nebulously described costume parts. Since I have a couple of old school magicians, though, I'm hoping that the tux looks different enough from the existing model to be worth it.
It is a bit ironic that I won't be able to participate in the event itself, since I actually have someone with whom I'll be spending Valentine's Day (don't look so surprised, blast you!). Maybe it is a special gift to those gaming couples that were interviewed last year.

The details of the Wedding Pack can be found here.
The pack includes:
The wedding dress costume:
A long lace veil, short stockings, and lace dress and bodice.
Special "Excess Plus," "Hearts Plus," and "Angelic Plus" costume pieces for chest and hips (all available to female characters).
Tuxedo costume
An elegant formal tuxedo jacket with tails (available to all characters).
The Propose emote lets players get on one knee to pop the big question with the proper amount of formality (or just speak in a particularly romantic fashion).
Three celebratory emotes allow players to toss heart and diamond shaped Confetti, Rose Petals, and of course, Rice.
While we understand that this offering may not be for everyone. However, we do want to make more available for the game and by charging for such items we can deliver them in a more timely and broad fashion. While I don't have specifics on other future for pay offerings, there is the intention to make more available.

Why not just put them out for open like everything else? Look, i love the game, i'm not saying doom or anything, i just dont' understand why pay for it and not offer it free like always with everything else.

Just got the email!
Tuesday, February 12th - On Thursday, February 14th, 2008 Paragon City will rejoice in a celebration of love and union between two of its luminary Heroes. Manticore and Sister Psyche will celebrate their devotion to each other with a very special live wedding ceremony to be held on the Training Room (test server). The Heroes will be controlled in real life by Sean Dornan-Fish, the man behind the Manticore persona, and his wife Jennifer Dornan-Fish. Matt Positron Miller will be on hand to officiate the ceremony, along with many other signature characters from the City of Heroes® universe. Beginning at 3:00PM PST (6:00 PM EST) on the Training Room, and repeating for the next 3 hours, we will present the wedding ceremony live. We invite anyone who is interested to come out and partake in the festivities! However, please keep in mind that each presentation of the ceremony will only accommodate approximately one hundred participants. Gaining access to the wedding event will be simply the luck of the draw for those in the zone when it begins. Heroes and Villains, look for the ushers in Atlas Park and Mercy Island (there is one usher in each zone).
Valentines Day also kicks off this years annual Spring Fling event, including DJ Zeros Pocket D Jubilee. Just head over to Pocket D, the space between Paragon and the Rogue Isles, where DJ Zero will be playing host again. Ganymede, Emissary of the God Eros, will be back, hoping to harness the primordial force of love, allowing Hero and Villain alike to lay down arms and join together to complete a host of missions.
Outside of the Pocket D, and in conjunction with the live Wedding event, players will find new Hero and Villain contacts in Atlas Park and Mercy Island. Sela Vermont, wedding coordinator of Manticore and Sister Psyche, sends Heroes on a special wedding gift reconnaissance mission while Zev Scalamore, under direction of Arachnos, enlists Villains to do his dirty work.
Event Timing:
Start: Thursday, February 14th,
8:59am PST / 11:59am EST
Finish: Thursday, February 28th,
8:59pm PST / 11:59pm EST
