Really long hair

Jay, having said that we are only allowed to have one cape, has ruled out us having things like loincloths, tabards, Mu capes, and flowing hair.

[/ QUOTE ]

Which would go along with what we're asking for.

Have a normal hair piece be the start of a pony tail that is tied at shoulder height with about a 3 inch wrapped ribbon like in the images I posted in an earlier. Then have a cape option that is basically a cape with hair style design on it with everything non hair related being 100% transparent.

The two pieces would align to give the illusion of being a single connected item even though they are two seperate pieces to the puzzle.

The normal cape movement would give the illusion that the hair is loose and moving freely while the head piece is tied and not moving.

You'd still only have one cape, except in this case the cape would give the illusion that your character has really long flowing hair.

My question is would Jay be able to get both puzzle pieces to align properly?

Hey
I'd like to make a request (well sort of) and since I couldnt create a new topic, I guess this is the thread lol
1)- Anyway, I LOVE the new Serrated Sugar hair, I love the way it looks, with straight "Jennifer Aniston"-like layers, this hairstyle fits all my characters so well it was my dream hair for CoH all the way...but i was wondering, could you make it just a tad bit longer? Not looong (like Glam) hair, just a little bit longer than it already is, just longer layers on the front and the lenght on the back as well, the rest its all perfect. That'd be so awesome! Plz? Pretty Please??? I beg you!! I'd do anything!
2)- These are more like secondary requests (The Serrated Sugar one ios the most important!!!), but is there there a way to change the lenght of the cowgirl boots? They look great, but I wanted a shorter, not so out there version of it. And also an unbuttoned version of dresshirt (something that is formal, but open and without the tie, just a lil bit sexier to show some cleavage). Also some more jacket and shirt options (like open sweats for jackets and sleveless tank tops for girls)
Well, thxs in advance, and keep up the good work (and again, cant emphasize enough how great the Serrated Sugar hair looks, the texture, the style...its perfect, congratulations. Just wish it was a lil bit longer...)

Even static hair models like hard candy and glam would be nice to have male-side. Not the EXACT SAME styles, but similar length would be nice. So my men-folk can have long hair and a trenchcoat like their female counterparts.

This would be fun, especially if they ever implement the "hair whip" power so you can beat people up with your lovely locks.

They can't put hair under a witch hat, unless it's Katie Hannon. What makes you think they can do this?

[/ QUOTE ]

Hair under the Santa hat would also be ideal.

I used the Santa hat for a little while with my holiday costume, but it really bothered me that my character was bald underneath. So now she wears festive ear muffs instead.

Is there a reason why they can't do long hair under the top hats? Those pesky pirates get long hair under THEIR hats. Why not us, more civilized, folk?

Really long long hair, like down to the ankles- Hair longer than we currently have- make it an acutal back option unlockable at lvl 20- or 10- or whatever. Instead of capes players could have the option for really long hair. With a little bit of animation kinda like capes.

Just throwing it out there......

Thanx for reading.

Yeah. Currently, there's three costume parts my hero is missing, that are essential. One of them is the hair, so I'd love to see more costume options for that.
Me, I'd be fine with just hair long enough to reach the bottom of the shoulderblades, at least. With what they were able to do with the trenchcoat, I don't see why not when it comes to flexible hair.
I'd like to see hair options for hats too, as well as without hats. Maybe even with helmets? Helmets one is optional though, I can get away with hiding it under the helmet and armor. :P
Stuff like ponytails with a little more volume, and/or anime/realistic bangs would be nice, with some length options too. What do you guys think?

Also, there needs to be more long hair options for male characters. The one long hair they have now could be better.

Uber Talgrim - level 50 emp/dark defender
Uber Rod - level 50 dark melee/regen scrapper
Rod Valdr - level 50 invuln/SS tanker
Talgrim - level 50 ninja/dark mastermind

OMG!! Please add these costume designs now!

That's what I was hopeing for, too. My hero is a guy, so hopefully there will be more options.

I wanted this too. Maybe ones that flow all the way down the feet that even when they hold it parts of the hair in a ponytail, pigtails, and other assortments it still drops down the ground and trails around.

Source: Jay at the Meet and Greet (chance I may be mistaken who/where said this, but I distinctly remember this)

Why this was said: The Smoke & Mirrors quest involves a certain model with a certain style of clothes that players requested.

The technology that lets things flow and whirl realistically is what gives us capes. Due to technical limitations, Player Characters are forbidden to have 2+ instances of that flowing whirliness on their character at once.

So we'd have two options:

1) Long hair instead of capes (I believe that was mentioned here)

2) Capes that flow and long hair that doesn't. Picture that.

In the gentlest way possible, I'm trying to say that truly long hair will more than likely never happen.

Or, if you'd prefer, I can paraphrase it in a less-gentle way on your behalf:

Couldn't we have a loincloth that wasn't a cape? It wouldn't have to flow...although that would be nice.

Dude, you totally, like, just catharsised all over this thread.

I can't imagine half the things you said being relevant. In the sake of my own post being constructive, I will point out that Sexy Jay has said multiple times that he strongly prefers succinct posts, and I believe you may have just had the exact opposite effect you desired to have with that post.

Please dear god, leave already. None of the rediculous things that you want are ever going to happen. Heck, they wont ever happen in any game in the next 10+ years. Looks like it is time for you to take up programing.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!

If another superhero game comes out with loincloths and long hair...I'm there.

I have a defender that needs a cape AND a loincloth.

I want FACIALLY ANIMATED EMOTES.

I have a controller that has hair down to her ankles.

What good is 2 SLI video cards, 4 gigs of ram, a 30" monitor, multi-core processors, a scsi card and 15000 rpm drives good for if NOT to make hair, capes, loincloths, and multiple auras look fabulous.

I invest a lot of time playing COH, leveling my toons, putting up with bad teams, tankers and scrappers without taunt, prima donna controllers, defenders who skip clear mind/fort/rez/adrenaline boost, putting up with 'mapserver disconnected', lag, just to get to the teams with rocking tankers and deadly scrappers, controllers that know what they are doing - all so I can be told no? I can't have long hair? I can't have a loin cloth?

Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

I've always been supportive up to this point, but on this point my patience is not going to apply.

If I make a female I want her to look awesome, stunning, and unique.

I'm not going to wait 3 more years for shapeshift and stretching and swinging and duplication.

I'm not going to wait 5 more years for a motorcycle, or a horse, or a dragon to ride.

I'm not going to wait 10 more years to be able to have my rad defender's powers look RED instead of GREEN.

I want long hair, I want it to flow realisitically, and I'm willing to wait...if they say they will come out with it someday.

But tell me never, well, that means I have about 1-2 more years tops and I'll retire from COH.

I'm really starting to find that the 'old' pre-COV players are really hard to find...and that the new post-COV players, have a large number of jerks.

Pre-COV players never named their toons 'I am teh PWNZ' or 'Blaster L337'.

I put up with standing outside a mish for 10 minutes...doing nothing, because half the team has to sell, killing my xp rate, because I've always believed the devs are going to build 'the rest of the game'...you know the part where we can actually KNOCK THE ENEMY THROUGH A WALL, and it HURTS.

I put up with bad PuGs because every great PuG is worth its weight in gold. It's beautiful. There is always that time in the game that makes me say "Man...that alone was WORTH my monthly subscription".

I put up with the crappy tech-support, and that abysmal NCSoft website, because, really, there is no other PC-base MMO comic book game. I will not use an X-box 360 if you PAID ME to take one.

I put up with the fact I like to pvp with defenders, and get killed all the time. I put up with the fact that really, villains 1v1 are more powerful than heroes, because on a full team, heroes can beat large numbers of villain teams.

I put up with the stupid AI of the PvE cardboard dummies...I realize this part of the game is the most difficult of all to code...because it doesn't really matter...what matters is playing my toon, that I've spent hours creating and growing in a synergistic setting with other players who have done the same, and that no AI will ever be able to come close to that in any game.

So, in response, I don't care if they say it can't be done: I say, NCSoft has bought the CO* franchise, owns it, and is now increasing the staff for development, they need to do this piece too.

If they are making that great new studio, then they need to come out with 5 new powersets for each AT a YEAR.

They need to make the environment 100% physics based and breakable.

They need to do the long flowing hair.

They better do the loincloth.

Since no game is going to come close to requiring that kind of hardware for maybe 5+ years I guess you wasted your money. No game company ever gears their game for the "bleeding edge" and never will.

As for the rest of your post it was mostly too silly to read much less comment on...

CryTek? Sure, it scales well (*very well*) but few people have the hardware to run Crysis on full settings. Aside from the SLI, that's about what you need!

The truth is that here in our fair City we're dealing with a four year old game engine. Sure, they managed to refit it with a few new things but under all the shiny paint and the body kit, it's still a 1986 Honda.

If you use Cape options for hair the hair will look and flow like a cape and not necessarily like hair.

So your hair will hang down off your head get tied to your neck then flow down off your shoulders. That is how capes work. There are no capes that attach to top of head etc. so the flow wouldn't be right without a separate option.

Another problem is color. When you choose long hair in Hair you choose 2 colors and your hair color is a mix of the 2. You don't have that option in capes and people will complain that they can't create their strawberry blonde bombshell with only.
