This is the eleventh weekly edition of "The City Scoop" a publication for Supers by Supers.

This week’s edition is filled with some wonderful art done by our community members. I am incredibly impressed with the talents in art and writing that continue to be featured by this project. I for one always look forward to a new “Scoop.”

Crossword Puzzles are back, yo! Using the difficulty-o-meter that was discussed a while back, I’d rate this one an 8 out of 10. I’d be impressed beyond words if any one person could do it by themselves with minimal/no research.

Good luck!

Wanna bet?

Edit: Without research, I think I have twelve out of twenty-two.

I'm getting tired of the artwork of characters making out. The occasional husband-and-wife team I can understand, but the pic of a random character smooching Ms Liberty irritated me for some reason. Could we keep our superheroic sex fantasies out of the City Scoop?

FYI

You have until MIDNIGHT (PST) TONIGHT to submit your entries for the "A Call to Arms" contest. Send them via PM to Lady K . Please include some sort of contact information.

And now back to the regular discussion thread.

I guess every one wants to be Aon Flux or something. I like the pic for quality and detail, but in the back of my mind I see Statesman knocking on this guys hideout and laying the beat down on him screaming, "Don't EVER touch my granddaughter again!!!" or is it just me? However I did like the Ms. Liberty gets the beat down one from a few weeks ago.

BTW, these are MY opinions and not those of the Scoop. If you can draw, I'm sure that DirtWolf and Thors_Assassan would love to submit your work.

TTFN,

Lady K

Although I see your point (and thought the same thing), the art piece I really didn't like was Raggedy Anne. I mean, it's almost NSFW IMO. The composition is OK, but the subject matter is a little... skanky... was the first word that came to mind, unfortunately.

In contrast, Turbo's pic and Sulfuric Sugar's mini-comic were much better, IMO.

It's a classic "rag doll" pose. She looks like she's been dropped in a corner. And if that's how the character's dressed, that's how the character's dressed. *shrug*

Two problems with the Icon/Facemaker interview article:

I think Jay's post said Ian was no longer around.

Also, it's Exoproto, not Proto-Ekto.

Lady Judgement's piece titled Robot Love is a commission of mine of Dark-wave/Lina and Yellowjacket (X, STINGER, same guy, different suits)/Jimmy on Virtue, and yes its all mushy and kissyfaced, not often you find the love of your life after strings of emotional disaster by dimensional accident :7

Love the crossword puzzles! They're my favorite part of the scoop.

This one, I managed to get 16 (edit: 18) (edit 2: 19) of them without looking anything up. Some of the others I know I could find if I looked but I'm trying to figure the rest out before I resort to paragonwiki or a forum search.

What I'm missing: 2 across (I know I could find this if I looked), 3 across, 3 down, 13 across, 15 down and 17 across.

Edit: Okay, I think I've got 3 down and across. Unfortunately that didn't help me enough with 13 across so I'm still missing it despite having nearly half the letters filed in.

Edit 2: Finally remembered 2 across. Still missing 13 across, 15 down and 17 across, and really don't have any idea on those.

Edit 3: Finally gave up and did some quick searches for the last three. 15 down I should have got, but I remembered the name wrong and what I misremembered didn't fit. 13 across, I don't think I ever did that mission, which is why I had no clue. 17 across, just wasn't familiar enough to know. Overall though, great puzzle!

One technical comment on the crossword puzzle: the lettering of the clues was apparently rendered with ClearType turned on. While this is OK for viewing on an LCD at its native resolution, it looks weird on a CRT or if printed on a color printer. To see what I mean, zoom in on the clues in an image editor - one side of the letters is reddish, the other blueish.

Oops.

I didn't have time to replace that text, sorry. I'll see if I can find a bit of time to clean up the image, and re-upload to same spot.

Same.

Also, most solid server-wide PVP coverage yet. I see that Excentric fellow hanging about on test all the time, glad he finally wrote something. :P

I thought Douglas Shuler's comic was great, then I checked out his gallery and that was fantastic!
Doug, keep on making that great art, I'll be checking you website regularly.
(BTW I am not Doug, nor am I related to him in any way )

once AGAIN, wanna thank the scoop for droppin the ball.

What? my event not original enough to cover? Got a PM from Protea asking if it was ok to do so - late Thursday nite. Which was way past deadline. Do you actually need permission to post something that's obviously been advertised? So you pick n choose which server events you are gonna post? Why do think I posted it in player events- if I didn't want to advertise the event? guess Freedom events just ain't good enough for ya.

Please go find links to events that we put up more than a week before they happened. I want a list.

Your event is Sat 8/4, not Sat 7/28. There's no good reason it would have been in this week's Scoop.

Edit: Ahh I see we do have 1 event for 8/5 in there. Not entirely sure why. Still my point stands, you can probably expect to see it in next week's issue. Well, you can expect it as long as you can the attitude.
