Don't worry about Psypunk. He's just giddy that he has 8 people in the arena to make him look good. Let him be happy while it lasts.
I'm not going to continue talking about rankings and whatnot, TGIA's earlier post about no-shows working out to be losses for this tournament pretty much settles that debate in principle, no matter how it actually works out.
I just wish you wouldn't talk like you're the only SG achieving success -- given recent scores and the like, I think there are several of us, don't you? 
...Also, not to get sentimental, but pretty much anyone supporting the PvP community (even with this drama garbage) is being successful as far as I'm concerned. Better than forgetting PvP in the first place. /sheds a tear 
Yah looks like the ladder is a failure...the group who got #1 skirted the rules and used one of their members status with the pvpec to get them the position...then laugh about it..saying it was all fair and does not really matter (despite the all you have to do is beat us comment).
Stack the deck by matching the same 8 people against everyone despite having a large roster SG and claim no one showed up but those 8 (gee how many people have left JAL? wonder why...oh I bet it's because no one gets to PVP but your elite 8...) Then have Alarys post (gee is it our fault we read the rules...) only to lose that arguemnt with the forum quotes and argue "well the rules don't matter and you guys are babies"
I really really think you other SG's should just ban together and group /ignore JAL...mayeb they should just dry up, go away and leave the game...
The ladder stuff actually was looking interesting for a bit and had me tempted to come back.

To find where people will begin on the PvP Ladder we will be starting a round robin, this is where every group who has signed up will face one another. Initial ranking will be based first on win to loss ratio. Ties will be decided by who has beat whom. In an instance where that does not rectify the problem it will be based on margin of victory, and then on over all victories if mov still does not satisfy the problem. This is only for the initial ranking. We will begin this process on Sunday the 29th of July at 9 PM EST. It is requested that all groups who have signed up for the ladder be there. We will go until midnight. It is expected that SG Captains will set up their own matches. For initial ranking it is only 1 match, not 2 out of 3 so we can save time and get this ladder up as soon as possible. We will then meet up again on Wednesday August 1st at 9 PM EST going til midnight once again. It is expected that SG Captains will simply ask for matches over arena chat. Make sure you face every SG in the ladder on these two nights. If you do not face a group it will be counted as a loss for both groups. Also, all matches are to be reported to me. Please send the results of every match you have to me on the blue boards with score and who won. Both SG Captains must report these results to me so I can check for consistency. Any group who purposefully reports inaccurate results will be automatically placed at the bottom of the ladder.
The Groups who have signed up thus far with a roster are as follows:
Hell Raisers
JAL
Velocity
SW
Freaks
Old School
The End
Envy The Shadow King
Whirligig
As stated above, you have two nights for a total of 6 hours to face each one of these groups one time, make sure you do so.
We have come up with a prize for whomever is at the top of the ladder on the first of every month. Ex has agreed to give out forum titles on the first of every month to the SG who has the top spot on the ladder at the first of every month. The title must be the same for everyone. The captain of the SG will present up to 3 titles they wish to have and Ex will pick the most appropriate one.
I have been contacted regarding some rules people wish to have added, I need every SG captain to respond here and give a yes or no to the rules. Please do not debate here on why, make another thread for that.
Amendment 1: If a group is inactive for more than two months they are to be removed from the ladder.
Amendment 2: Bar code teams are not to be permitted. (A bar code team is where a team has almost the exact same name as to make spiking nigh impossible. This issue has arose from the new ability to change ones name.)

normally i don't ever get into this madness on the forums, but please read through that post and tell me where it says that because two groups don't fight one group still gets a win for it.
this isn't about what would have happened if you guys fought, it's about what really did happen here in reality. and i'm sorry that JAL isn't number 1 cause they didn't get all their round robin fights done in the time set for it to happen. if you guys truely are a superior group, why do you not accept the rules and earn your spot? act like champions and stop trying to throw out all the 'what ifs,' 'ands,' or 'buts'.... just accept it and move on.
and if we're suddenly not going to be playing by the rules that were stated before any fights actually happened, why are we even going to have any rules at all?

Now, now, let's be fair, maybe he's referring to the other official that JAL and Freaks have had. No, that wouldn't work either. What match are you referring to, or did you just decide to go CrueL and pretend practices counted as anything? I believe challenging Tribute and LD to come back to the game is traditionally the next step.

So when are actual PvPEC reps (TGIA) and officials going to comment on this? They are helping so much, you know, showing up for the round robins and all to show that we have support behind us and that the PvP SGs don't have to do all of this by themselves.

I'm not for that, as I wish we could of forfeited some of our matches also, but that's how it was. I don't see what the big deal is of just taking your spot at #2 or #3 and getting back to #1 through the natural way of the ladder.

ESK did show up and our match did commence. They forfeited.

No, the next step would be quitting my SG after Vengeance stacking is no longer allowed and we can't compete and joining FOL.

He gave his ruling...ESK agreed to a match...said match was listed....as per official rules AT THAT MOMENT the match was OFFICIAL...they had 15 minutes to field a team and they failed to do so. They lose.
No, what you're waiting for is for TGIA to say what you want to hear. The dude has already ruled on the matter, it's old news...
What's next, you're going to hold your breath or scream at the top of your lungs until you get your way? lol...Per Ladder rules, IF A MATCH IS AGREED UPON AND LISTED, THE OPPOSING TEAM HAS 15 MINUTES TO FIELD AT LEAST 6 PLAYERS.
This is not a case where we did not play ESK...the match was official as soon as it was agreed upon and listed, they forfeited. I'm sorry that is not the outcome you were hoping for. I just love the fact that you think because ESK logged off and avoided an official match that somehow FOL performed better in the tourney, LOL!!

FOL can have the shiney number 2 silver medal and a pat on the head.
We'll give our friend Herr Salmon and his Velocity teammates the number 3 rank and a big lollipop.
And JAL will voluntarily move to the 4th ladder rung. There, problem solved!!! Now does everyone feel all warm and fuzzy!!
So, officially, JAL has stepped down from the top ladder rung because we want all our PvP friends to feel like winners! Enjoy your moment on the podium, wave to family and friends, take a victory lap around the stadium, it's on us!!

Kind of presumptious to assume NDX broke up becuase of vengence stacking...pretty sure they were not losing when they no longer used it...and were you a part of NDX to know why they even broke up? Crappy thing to say...

I would encourage all participating groups to please re-read the rules that were drafted at an open meeting of interested groups.
If ladder rules need to be re-drafted, then that is a possibility, but any matches that have taken or will take place (untill the event of a rule change) operate underneath the original rules.
Further discussion is futile, as all groups had equal opportunity to read said rules and are subject to their enforcement and any related consequences.

or maybe it's the fact that you're trying to use one set of rules that don't even apply the the specific situation at hand?

One question, If a team fails to show up on either of these nights and you are unable to face them does your team still take the loss as well as the team that wasn't able to show up?

Yes, if a team simply fails to show up you both take a hit. If this is the case it is more than likely going to hit everyone the same way and effectively cancel it out.

I think a particularly important part of that rules clarification is the "it's more than likely going to hit everyone" part, which seems to imply that while it'll probably hit everyone, it might not, and them's the breaks.

so it was in the rules that if you dont do a match because the other team doesnt show up that its counted as a loss for both groups. this is from the coordinator himself. i dont see how you can argue that. now... if they want to change the rules after the fact, then i guess thats why people are now declaring shenanigans.
i looked at the screen shots. nowhere did they say they forfeit. they said that people left and they couldnt make it.
