One of my favorite matches of all time was the 16v16 match JAL had with FOL. The match went the distance with FOL winning the last round. For me, that was the end of the "classic" era, as groups like Lion's Den, Tribute, HVND, Penance, and Sitting Ducks were gone.
The "old" JAL fell apart after that too with about all but 3 people out of that 16-man line-up leaving the game in the span of days. That video Nrgfx posted of Velocity's first match was against a JAL team I pieced together out of friends and some people with little to no PvP experience.
I felt JAL accepted the match and if there was any way we could field a team, any team, we would. I cringe watching that video, lol, but hey we stepped up and fulfilled our obligations. It was after that match JAL officially went into "rebuilding phase" lmao...
remember "Psypunk are you still rebuilding?" hahaha Eventually, it all paid off. :P -
So now that everyone is gone from FoL, is this when Ajax, Foo, and the other Freaks return? Or is this FOL's swan song?
-
I've played several elims with the new gear, I really haven't noticed much of a problem at all...
And Sorrows, install the game, and let's play...some of us have been talking about getting an elim team going one or two nights a week, I think you'd enjoy the game a lot. -
eh, kinda...actually, we may put together a small team to do some fury one or two nights per week. Honestly, if we got a small group of players we could make a run at the top rung in that game.
It's a fun game and the population has rebuilt itself pretty well...just some of the old players left when they made some huge global changes to gear, i.e. meaning their old gear wasn't uber anymore so they left, lol. It's kind of rebuilt to the point where it may be worth to log in and start playing again...
Go make a free account abd I'll show you the game and give you some gear. -

Ownage, Hell will Freeze over with Space Monkies, Psypunk will stop rocking out with his band, and Ill start being a nice person before they go to FOL. Nice attempt though .
[/ QUOTE ]
I stopped rocking out with my band months ago, so the first prophecy in the book of Revelations has come to pass... -

So....when next month sorrows asks to join JAL again, will you let him? Serious question.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sure, why not, I mean if we keep you around Supermax why not Sorrows? lolj/k
I don't think there will be a next time...although Tanzy just rejoined FOL for like the umpteenth time, so never say never. -

Hopefully, Sorrows and Velocity can act with class and we can do the same since this back and forth gheyness is silly.

good thing alarys acted with class when sorrows left velocity, oh wait

Alarys has always acted with class...I definitely haven't always but she definitely has. Again, from a personal standpoint, we're sorry to see Sorrows go, we feel we'll be ok and we wish him the best.

So Alarys accusing us of hacking your vent to win an official is classy?

Stranger things have happened my Scandanavian friend....and considering current/former members of Velocity have done [censored] like that in the past, leaves some doubt in anyone's mind. If that line of thinking bothers you, then I'd suggest refraining from doing [censored] like that in the first place and people wouldn't be left to wonder. The original comment was Alarys didn't act with class when Sorrows left Velocity...I don't know of any time Alarys, or anyone else from JAL, acted out in any fashion when Sorrows left Velocity to rejoin our group - unlike Velocity the first time around. It would've been very easy to go back and quote several threads from months past from Velocity members when Sorrows left us the first time...Quite honestly, it wasn't that big of a deal for us when Sorrows rejoined, other than the fact we were glad to have him back on a personal basis. From a PvP standpoint, having Sorrows didn't hurt but we felt confident in the players we already had playing blaster and to be quite honest, if our Vent hadn't of crashed in that first match, we most likely would've beaten Velocity the first time since we only lost the match by two kills with no Vent for half the match.
It's all water under the bridge though...who cares? Hopefully, Sorrows is happy, Velocity is happy, and all is good. Maybe now you guys will practice with us, if that's the case, then it's all worth it. -

Other than being totally bewildering and a little schizo, Sorrows leaving is not that big of a deal. I like Sorrows, I like playing with Sorrows, he's a fun kid and we've had a lot of laughs together...if he wants to play in Velocity, so be it. We were excited to have him back when he rejoined because things ended badly and to be honest, Sorrows "not" being in JAL and playing for Velocity never seemed to "fit". To many of us, including myself, who recruited him off of Freedom when he was in Void Walkers...he's a JAL member. No different than many people who play for other groups today, in their heart of hearts they know they really are members of Lions Den, FOL, HVND, etc. That may not explain Sorrows' feelings at all, they just explain "my" feelings...
I wish Sorrows the best and the same to Velocity. Hopefully, Sorrows and Velocity can act with class and we can do the same since this back and forth gheyness is silly. The first time Sorrows left, he let down quite a few people, including myself. This time, it was expected and of course we have only ourselves to blame - as fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. However, at least this time, we didn't have a huge match scheduled like the next day, so ce la vie. Of course we're disappointed and shocked that Sorrows left because we like Sorrows...enough to trust him despite his past actions and let him back with full access to our forums and team. We will miss Sorrows but not the drama...we believe our team is still as strong as ever, we will miss Sorrows presence at practice, matches, and on vent but we believe we will be ok. Again, best of luck to Sorrows and Velocity and no hard feelings from anyone in JAL. -

This is the last FoL vs. JAL Match when I lead the Freaks..rofl.. CELEBRATE w00t!!

Nobody cares, you should change your name to MF_Ego...nice "look what I did" post though, lol. What a cheesedick, you rolled a team just starting out on Test PvP, saved the images for going on 2-years probably, and then posted them to get some attention - and on top of that, made the inference that your "leadership" was the reason and not the fact you were playing a team just starting out on Test. Wow, what a complete tool.
Sorry for the above FOL, this is my last post in your thread...just wanted to point out a great match our two groups had in our shared history. -

idk, I don't keep track, and it wasn't me who thought of it. You all have over 20 members now don't you? There has to be a bench unless you go 3 rounds. Or... do 16v16. It has been a long time since I have seen one of those.
[/ QUOTE ]
The last 16v16 was JAL vs. FOL almost one year ago...went 3 rounds, FOL won best 2 out of 3. Awesome nail biter match...was truly a classic PvP match. In rememberance of that match and all that participated, salute on the upcoming year anniversary! Grats again on that hard fought victory FOL, maybe someday soon will be able to issue a 16v16 rematch challenge... -
Thank you Ex Libris and to all the PvP community a big thank you as well for the fun and competition week after week.

1. Competitive base raids finally implemented. Cathedral of Pain finally implemented. Items of Power finally implemented. How [censored] great would it be to blow up the J-Fort? Or completely destroy UJL's billion dollar mansion? Or blow up JAL's crack house? I want this in game yesterday.
2. Zone PvP rankings should not be fluid. They should be an accurate representation of the talent and skill level of the individual...if someone is a badass zone PvPer, what the [censored] makes the difference if they haven't logged in for two weeks? Players should be able to look at a player and know how good they are based on rankings that make sense. I should know by looking at a player's zone ranking that is a mother [censored] I don't want to mess with and if I do, I'm going to need some help.
As such, players should be rewarded with recipes for reaching certain plateaus or ranking levels. However, high ranked players will receive little to no ranking credit for beating low ranked players. In fact, a high ranked player will want to avoid lower ranked players since the lower ranked players have nothing to lose and the higher ranked does not want to get pulled into a battle and get ganged up on...As it stands, zone ranking means nothing...there is little to no way to tell how good another player is in game. Rankings should be color coordinated or visible to all players, hence you would have far less situations of n00b players getting ganked. As it stands right now, there is little to no way to tell the difference.
3. We need the damn Arena terminals to function properly. The Arena has been half-[censored] from day one. Number one, all matches should be "ranked" matches by default..."unranked" matches should only be used to practice with different builds, try out new strategies, etc. Therfore, the ranking system needs to be totally revamped so it is not exploitable. This is VERY easy to do and just about every game out there, besides COH, has a working PVP ranking system...the developers should be ashamed of what they implemented. Number two, matches should be able to be scheduled within the terminal...tournaments, ladders, leagues, etc. should be able to be developed all by using the Arena terminal.
4. Super Groups should also have a "ranking". Individuals will have their own ranking, however any "Super Group" matches will give the Super Group as a whole a ranking score. A player's individual score will consist of several rankings based on duels, pentads, team, and Super Group play. These rankings will be totally separate from Zone rankings. Because the ranking system is non-exploitable, like tons of other games have been able to develop, certain ranking levels and plateaus will reward players with recipes.
Why do PvP players HAVE to PvE to get any type of significant game rewards? Do we not pay our monthly fee just like anyone else? If I want to use COH to PvP with 24/7, should I not have the same opportunity to collect rewards like recipes like players who farm TF's/SF's? The problem is not the PvP players, the problem is the system developed by the developers. We deserve better.
5. Forget dual PvE & PvP builds. If they would have implemented the above properly the first time, dual builds would not be needed. If PvP were actually supported with a proper ranking system and an Arena that actually set up tournaments and ladders properly, PvP players could use PvP to earn in game rewards...much like WOW.
6. Finally, we need PvP stats, including zone stats, to be connected to a City of Heroes online stats page where players can view other player's stats, kills, amount healed, deaths, rankings, Super Group rankings...individual duel rankings, team rankings, 2v2 rankings, etc. This is not rocket science, it sounds more than it is...a computer can calculate this stuff in milliseconds and the devs can easily track this information...look at all the [censored] they get from their "datamining". Hell, I don't even care about the past, just get this implemented and start fresh from day one. On each page will be the player's ID avatar, what Super Group they're in with SG symbol, and a host of data on each player. Stats and rankings could also be given for Zone PvP, including a breakdown within each Zone. Zone PVP is not all the same, players are definitely more talented and skilled in certain zones than others...the same players who rule Bloody Bay do not necessarily rule Siren's Call.
You implement the above and you will have a healthy and happy PvP community. This game will also see significant population growth as players from games like Guild Wars and WOW are becoming bored with PvP in those games and would flock to a fast, action-paced form of PvP such as that in COH. We're asking for ONE update to be focused on fixing PvP in this game. That is it. -
I would also like to see the dunce cap costume part enabled.

I keed, I keed...you guys can't take a joke. As far as "rebuilding", we're far from it. We are what we are right now and just need more time practicing, but we're still better than most groups out there.
Yeah, it took a few months to rebuild after last Christmas break when we went from easily fielding a 16v16 size team, to having about 4 players. You've been out of NDX for quite some time, so you must've gotten a taste of what it's like to look around and try to build a competitive team from ground zero. It's not easy and it takes a long time and a lot of patience. I'm extremely pround of the hard work and the dedication the JAL members showed and eventually it paid off by being the first team in the number one ranking for the PvP SG ladder. And you can count on the fact that we'll be there again in due time...tough times don't last, tough teams do, booyah. -
