Actually I notice for some of the villian badges you need to go to PvP areas. You don't need to kill anyone but for some of the accolade powers you need badges from PvP areas.
Sometimes, when I am bored and when I am on a NON-SQUISH character for the most part.
TP Foe blows, soloing blows, uber Mez blows, hence the non squishy toons.
Masterminds annoy everybody, sooner or later. Heck, Masterminds annoy themselves.

I like symmetric PvP where the players are differentiated by thier skill, not the toon they bring to the fight.
My first online game was a multiplayer WWII air combat simulation. Anyone could have any plane and it took skill to consistently defeat the other players without getting yourself killed. That is ideal PvP for me.

Hated pvp at first, until a few enthusiasts joined the SG.
Now I can get into it on occasion.
For one, theres jack to do in COV after you get a coupla 50s under your belt. Also, it's like any other part of the game- get on a team with people you have fun with, and it can be fun.
There are a few jerkwads who make it NOT fun, but then...you just stop.
The best (at least to me) is pvp against your friends.

But not in CoX.
It's not an implementation thing, or anything anyone could change. CoX wasn't designed as a PvP game and I find it "tacked on". For PvP, there are much, much better games designed specifically for that purpose.
I've done some arena stuff with friends, but free-for-all stuff against people who have a "win at all costs (even fun)" isn't what I play CoX for. It's so much better at lots of other stuff.

I like PvP in theory. I have never seen an implementation of PvP that wasn't crazy stupid. CoH sounds like it's on the right track, but the whole PvP build vs. PvE build makes me suspect it isn't, really (but I havn't tried so I wouldn't know).

I've discovered that my favorite PvP is the open brawl with at least 20 members of each faction and all or most of the ATs represented. It seems harder to take any of it personally, and each defeat just makes me more eager to rush back from the hospital and get my licks in before the brawl peters out.
Least favorite? Gank squads targetting soloists. Strikes me as the coward's way.
