Honestly, necro goes pretty well with anything. Necro/dark is a beast though. But I've got a necro/TA and while far from optimised in terms of sets its pretty good. Necro is nice like that.
Ninjas, I'd go something with +def or -to hit to keep them standing. Actually, I apparently wouldnt, as I have a ninja/thermal in the 40s somewhere. But its far from synergystic.
Having said that, its still an MM. I can stomp through most content at a higher diff faster then a lot of my other alts, and my ninjas dont die THAT much. Its just that they die more then any other pet set. -

Quote:lol, no one wants to play with you<-- Extremely PO'd player. Where have they all gone? And before you all go "LOLGOPLAYTHEGAMENOOB" I pay my money for VIP, I choose HOW I want to play. My question is why is there a lack of farming? Maybe it's because there is now 501234123314 AP's? Why was that done again? Really?

Quote:I like this idea!As a compromise to a fully customizable house creation system I think the Devs could provide a number of "pre-fab" spaces that could be styled very nicely and come with a limited set of hardwired features (like a personal vault for salvage, recipes, etc). This way the devlopment could be made simpler and these self-contained "house units" could be sold individually in the Paragon Market. Eventually they could offer several dozen types of houses of various styles to satisfy most people. Every character could own multiple houses but only have one "active house" at a time the same way we have to choose which active Incarnate powers we have.
So if you want a fully customizable space you use the existing SG base system. If you just want a "personal house" to store your stuff then you can buy one via the Paragon market. -
I'm feeling what the OP is looking for on my SR/MA tanker, very fire and forget from very low levels. Only thing I need to do is make sure I'm firing storm kick whenever its up and thats part of my attack chain anyway...
-
In addition to brutes/scrappers, I've found MMs always tear through the early levels for me.
-
I didn't think of a Fortunata at all, good call. Never got around to running a VEAT either. I think that might be the winner.
-
No more post padding, servers are up, lol
-
Out of the ones I have... probably my Necro/TA. Nothing against my bots/storm or ninja/thermal, just fun to play zombie Robin Hood and his zombie Merry Men. It does the job pretty well too, and its always fun to play a rarely seen but still useful build.
If I was going to make a fresh MM to be my one and only... hmm. Thats tough. Demons/therm would be tempting, but kinda cliche. I think I might roll with necro/storm. Though the lack of -regen would bother me. -
Quote:I know of almost two dozen people who have quit due to this.
The downtime might not seem a big deal to those of you in America, but it is very significant in Australia.
The OP's statement about the server being down more than it is up may be hyperbole but not so much down under. When it comes to Australian Prime Time, the game is down more than it is up.
The subs lost might not seem very significant but trying to downplay their loss as non-existent isn't sensible nor logical at all.Quote:That's only a subjective opinion.
There are thousands of players who haven't been affected by the downtime because it hasn't interfered with the times they play the game.
Then there's other players that had the misfortune to have every downtime smack dab in the middle of their preferred playing hours. -
Quote:I'm in Australia, so I've been losing out on my main gaming time as well.I know of almost two dozen people who have quit due to this.

On the other hand, I'm not real big on entitlement and am able to understand then when a big change to the game like this rolls around theres going to be kinks to work out.
Just go do something else. If you don't feel you're getting your monies worth, stop paying. Play for free. -
Quote:Think this speaks a lot about the strength of a well built /traps then petless MMs in general though.Let me start off by saying a pet-less mastermind is more of an endeavor of love and experimentation. Its like the rich guy that wants to spend half a million on stereo system for his home because he can. It isn't for the player who doesn't have 2 INF to rub together.
That being said..
I have to say I disagree with just about everyone here posting. Since you did say the like meaning something like this, that is pretty open ended.
I happen to have a Semi pet-less mastermind DS / Trap which has the last pet only and only the 2nd upgrade because I liked the look of the ice sword on the demon pet.
My build is completely defense capped and I currently have T3 Cardiac on him as well since on any Petless MM endurance is a tremendous issue.
I can and have soloed Crey Fire farm on a 2/8 setting comfortably and a 3/8 setting with a bit of work and closer attention.
I have seen players with a full set of powers to choose from that could not solo 1/5 setting let alone 2/8 setting. Heck I have seen lvl 50 tanks and brutes that couldn't solo Crey Fire on a 4/8 setting without having players feed them inspirations. So I think this whole notion of gimping one self irrelevant. I think if you understand some of the math, game mechanics and of course the money you can do anything in this game. I have no purple sets in the build as well.
I am not sure how pain would work. I do have a Pain DS MM that has around 660% personal regeneration. I don't know how well that would work when your taking a beating. I can say I survive much more then the pets do. I guess I could test it out with the one whip attack and a few vet powers just to see how I fair against some settings solo without pets.
My next plan is to use the 2nd build to create a SO pet build and run incarnate missions to unlock the rest of the alphas. I think just getting the T3s would be very interesting. Sadly the SO build is not defense capped but I will admit has more pets to produce greater dps output.
But again I have seen several lousy builds on these forums by players purporting to solo AVs with caltrops, so I think you need to see the build or know the source sometimes. Which I know clearly well works the other way as well. -
Possibly a stretch, as I can't get into the character creator to look for myself, but you might be able to recolour at least some of the /mental powers and play them as heat blasts. You'll have to overlook the fact that they're mechanically doing psi damage, but thats not a huge deal (for me at least, I have a dark blasters with powers tinted green that is tecnically through poison gas everywhere).
-
Enjoying Spring Attack on my stone/inv brute. Gives him some AoE where he's lacking, and with some global recharge, spiritual alpha and ageless, its up reasonably often. I wouldnt complain if they shaved a little more recharge time off of it, but its liveable with certainly. Could see myself fitting it into an MM build or two as well.
-
Another SR/MA tanker here, my cyborg ninja pharoah. A lot of fun so far, I haven't played a tanker in a long, long time. Finally hit SOs and end is no longer a problem, I'm soft capped once I connect with a storm kick and the damage isn't as bad as I thought it might be.
Probably the nicest thing is that I don't feel the need to trick the character out with IOs like I do with a dominator or corrupter, I'll just get some cheap sets and merrily go on my way. -
Still happening. Stuck at the loading screen and booted back to the login every time I try to zone for the last 20 minutes or so. Any help would be appreciated.
-
This is going to be a pretty general question actually, I have a name and a concept that makes me want to make a character that uses confusion powers. It doesnt have to be all they do, but something I can regularly use. I'm leaning towards a troller as I already have a tricked out dom, and I'd like to do something a bit different. Plant/ Mind/ Ill/ and Elec are all options, but I'm leaning towards Mind/ and Ill/ mostly. The other two can work, just that they require a slightly long conceptual leap.
I'm looking at a character that can do a bit of everything, solo, TFs, trials, pvp, whatever. I dont feel the need to excel in all those fields, but its nice to have a decent time at any of them.
Also open to suggestions for secondaries.
I'm leaning towards Mind/poison right now, simply because it looks like it'd be some nice single target damage for when I do solo, but could still add some good debuffs on a team environment, but I'm sure I'll change my mind 5 minutes from now. -
I've got the -res proc in the Jounin, so you can do that. That's about all I've got though.
-
I have a ninja/therm at 41, and while its fun, I'm pretty sure a ninja/time would have a lot more synergy in the sets.
-
I've been enjoying beam/traps far more then I thought I would.
