It just occurred to me that being upset about upcoming and unseen issues in this game (or in any situation, really) is somewhat akin to complaining about March because you dont think you will like the weather and then demanding that there be more June. None of us here have any real idea what the weather will be like in March, or what the entirety of the next issue will be, so getting flustered about what may, or may not every really happen strikes me as a bit unnecessary.

Dude, it allready IS city of DBZ. On freedom server i've seen both countless direct ripoffs of Dragon Ball Z characters, and piles and piles of folk with SSJ in their name and/or description.
As far as things been Anime Styled, I'm hoping that means things like pleated skirts, dresses and bobby socks for the girls, flight jackets, vests, etc for the guys, and a fair amount of kung-fu gear for both.
...and floating hearts/candy/puppies/whatever as an aura effect O_o
I think floating puppies would be an awesome aura, personally.

I went into this already back on page 6 (for me... I set the forum to 25 posts per page). What I really meant is that not every single character will be anime inspired, at least not in the long run. Sorry for my poor choice of phrasing, as it has apparently not conveyed the intended meaning to a lot of people.

Even if it was a joke, it is hard to argue with.. in some repecs.
DERAILMENT: Neon Genesis Evangelion..... mmmm mmmm.. Yay original ending, not the new endings made for people yelling about not feeling closure.., A definite competitor with old faves of my like Starblazers.
RAILMENT: And to weigh in. I'm fine with Anime costume additives and I have a feeling for those wo do not like Anime theme there will be a good numbers of items that you can use to compliment your non-Anime design. If there is anyone on the dev team that I trust, its the design department (as in the art and object and model design).
This is certainly not a game buster issue like major power changes. It should still be enjoyable. Beside, they are releasing this internationally, and perhaps this kind of thing will keep it popular on a lot of markets... Larger Market, more stuff, more bulk, lower prices?????? we can hope, or at least more stuff for your buck which is fine too.

It's difficult to argue with only if your taste doesn't run that way. People are awfully subjective about what is and isn't good.
Personally, I find this annoying since my opinion should be the only one that matters. Once I conquer the world and you are all my slaves, I will cancel all of the crappy network TV out there and replace it all with 24/7 anime and Battlestar Galactica.

A thought... is the ONLY place that has characterized the new costumes as "anime inspired" been that one magazine? we are all getting this divided over one reporters grouping of costume options that they apparently didn't care much about?
There already is an immense amount of costume options that could be considered "anime inspired" Anime covers a tremendous spectrum of genres. Anime is NOT a genre itself. Even the stereotypical "Big Eyes" is not present in all anime. Anime is produced by companies not just Japanese. There are Chinese companies that produce anime style. There are US companies that produce anime style (and I'm not meaning the ports of anime from other countries).
We already have immense options (30 hair styles for standard head on female btw). I have a lot of female characters that look nothing like dominatrix and still have awesome costumes. If you want to submit concept art, ASK if there is somewhere you can send it to... don't just complain. I'd consider the options we have to be absolutely outstanding already.
As far as trenchcoats not being much harder than capes, do you have ANY idea how much effort they put into capes?! They probably ARE working on trenchcoats and moving tails, and moving hair as best they can.
for free updates being promised: companies change their mission statements, they change the User Agreements (both without notice or consent to/from the community) I'm glad that hasn't happened to CoH yet. I'm glad they haven't made some of the significant design decisions I've seen that have SIGNIFICANTLY altered a game. The changes to Smoke Grenade, Integration/Instant Healing, Invincibility, Unyielding, etc combined have come nowhere close to the changed Asheron's Call underwent when they removed spell research... nor when they created a tinkering system... nor when they introduced imbues (I don't know what they've done since because I actually left eventually after I couldn't stand playing anymore)
Rev, I also don't see your replies as debate about the issue, they don't discuss the issue, they don't mention the issue... they just flame about how that person's viewpoint is irrelevant.
and then you jump to conclusion that JUST because someone has an anime-inspired avatar they plan to use anime-inspired costumes? It's like assuming that just because someone likes Marvel comics that they MUST be someone who clones Marvel characters. I certainly don't consider that attitude "more considerate"
Simpleman said it, more costume options are a good thing. Just because he said anime-inspired does not mean they are going to look EXACTLY like anime. Sheesh, I've already seen some excellent anime characters out there. And it doesn't mean big eyes, either. This is the other big worry I keep hearing. It probably just means asian clothing options. I personally am hoping for historical samurai armor, it was an option I wanted from the beginning.
We've got plenty of time. Wait to see what shows up on test before you start fretting unduly.
Anime inspired can me literaly anything. From historic samurai armor to incredibly awesome special ops uniforms and whatnot. We might even get some more plain cloths for heros currently not on the job.
Even if you don't like the costumes... Body sliders alone will be worth it.
