  1. I've just hit 32 and picked up Dawn Strike (which is a byootiful power ). As for the shields, I suppose it depends a lot on your play-style, personally I spent most of my time 6 - 20 in Nova form, so the shields weren't that useful, but I can certainly see them being helpful if you prefer human form.
  2. I remember ordering CoH via Airmail and receiving it in a chunky, poorly wrapped, twisted and battered package from Canada (I'm not sure I even ordered it from Canada).

I remember thinking, damn this better be worth £40 (that's $77 at the current exchange rate).

I remember realising it was worth £40.
  3. Alone, no we probably can't, but with other Archetypes, yes, we can. That was his point.
Along with other archetypes, I've held Archvillains using Incadescent Strike

Interestingly enough, even though I wasn't around until a few months ago, I too got that vibe about Skyway City. Is it something in the zone description?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I thought the exact same thing. I imagine it's just the name, Skyway.

The key, however, is to analyze whether the temporarily “gimped” power set gets something cool that then tips the scales in their favor at a later point. In other words, when all the powers within a set are observed, is each power set relatively as useful as others?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Added the appropriate emphasis. Kheldians may be outdone by other ATs power by power, but as a SET they are spectacular. They don't just fill in gaps in a team. I use them on teams that lack gaps. They ENHANCE the team. You don't have ONE tanker, you have TWO. You don't have FOUR damage dealers, you have FIVE. You have a THIRD controller to help with holding a boss. One Kheldian goes a long way. I think of them as Hamidon Origin enhancements. Hamies add bonuses to TWO stats. So with all Hamies, you get an effectively high amount of SOs. Even if you compare Titan or Hydra enhancements, which are naturally WEAKER than SOs, they still buff MULTIPLE stats making them better than solid SOs. Effectively, even if they only offered a 20% bonus, that's 20% to TWO stats, or 40% total. That's more than an SO. You just need the right power to take advantage of both stats, or with Kheldians, the right player behind them.

    Excellent analogy!

in the MMO I worked on we had shoulder chickens, shoulder Golems and something else for the shoulder (can't remember what is was, but I wanna say it was one of the mobs you could hunt, like maggots or something)

    [/ QUOTE ]

    NOOOOOOOO!
You brought the memories BACK! Begone Horizons! Back to the depths of my brain with thee!

One of the others was a shoulder Cow with party-hat.

So, do we believe him or not? Maybe it's just a name. I mean, if Statesman acted like his name, he'd converse in cryptic doublespeak never revealing... too much of his plans...

    Damn it!

    [/ QUOTE ]

I remember one of the people who reported back from Wondercon (it may have been Pax, but I'm not sure) specifically mentioned pandas as well as kittens as shoulder options for females. We have at least those two animal options, maybe there will be more. I can't wait to see how they'll turn out.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    ...Shoulder Moogles?...

Best costume option ever? I say yes.

Actually, I think the shoulder-Pandas are cooler.

    Wow! That would be...

Fair warning - this is apparently as "flat" as it gets:

The teenage boy population of the game rejoices.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It would seem that those who want smaller breasts are quickly overtaking those teenage boys with their fixation on breast size

    [/ QUOTE ]

I would assume this is the "teen" bodytype that was coming as well. Seems a little dissapointing - I'm sure a lot of people would love to be able to go smaller.

I haven't seen EVE. But there are so many sliders for changing your body and face in I4, and to some big extremes, we'll be seeing a bunch of very odd-looking heroes after the Issue comes out.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Heh, Extremes are always good I guess, especially for those of us who love making hideous freaks (yay!).
EVE has simply the best facial design in any game ever. It's pretty much photo-realism. I made a Steve Buscemi look-alike. Simply amazing....
Here's a few examples: Face one!
    Face 2!
    Face 3!

It's obviously easier for EVE, because once created they stay fully 2D, but they're simply beautiful, I've just gotta share them.

Sigh, still no trenchcoats for my DM/Regen gumshoe Phil Noir...I may give him the leather-jacket outfit for his as-yet-unused third slot for a more casual street look. (His first costume gets him mistaken for Family. :-)

And it would be nice if we could get jetpacks some day. I dimly remember Statesman saying somewhere that wings weren't going to happen for technical reasons, but I'd think jetpacks would be a good bit easier.

Still, new costume options are always appreciated.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wings ARE going to happen. We'll be seeing a Winged Epic Archetype named the Avilians sometime in the future.
  14. [ QUOTE ]
Oh yes, my friend, face sliders. Lots of em.

    [ QUOTE ]
Face sliders? Like... SWG type face stuff? That's the only thing I really miss about that game. XD

    [/ QUOTE ]

I've always thought th only thing CoH was missing in regards to character creation was face and body manipulation. And now they've done that.
If they could get the faces as impressive as EVE then they'd be absolutely on top of the gaming world.
  15. Yeah, the facial (and body) reconstruction is coming in Issue 4. From what I've heard it's pretty impressive too.
  16. I just noticed Lin's trousers - they're all ragged and torn up on the cuff - I can finally create my homeless sewer-mutant in full glory! God bless you Cryptic!

Here's the real question; is that jacket/T-shirt combo a SINGLE costume option, or is the jacket an extra on the top of the t-shirt.
I pray it's the latter, because that means I can finally wear a jacket over my Chitin skin.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    From the looks of it....

Miki is wearing the basic motorcycle jacket with matching t-shirt, pants and sneakers. From there, the combinations are limited only by personal taste. Change the pants. Add boots and gloves. Change the shirt. Mix up the colors. It’s always going to look good.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Quite possibly Yes, you will be able to change the shirt only

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Ahh! Good detective-ating!

I'm still rather disturbed over the Stuffed Shoulder Kitten though,
  19. Stop the presses! "From the wonderfully playful schoolgirl look, complete with school shoes, knee socks, and stuffed shoulder kitten ; to the ultra cool motorcycle jacket; to dynamic jumpsuits and the traditional Asian student jacket…"

    Cat-Girls^2?

Hmmm, this is a confuesing thread, why hasn't anyone gotten a definate answer yet!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Because there IS no definitive answer. Nobody knows yet, not even the developers.
  22. Thanks for the comments! Glad to hear you're enjoying yourself.

I've been thinking about adding a "Helpful Binds" section to the end of the guide, but I'm terrible with anything bind related. Hopefully someone will make a Kheldian Bind Guide sometime in the future - they really do hel with the Three Form.

    I beleive I shared what I could:

    * Villans get minions, deisng your own thugs kinda thing
    * Dozens of new costume options
    * How villians interact with in Paragon City is unsolved
    * Villians have 4 AT's with unique powersets
    * Newer (better?) zones for CoV
    * Probably forgetting some...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well okay... I suppose your brains are safe for now.
