Quote:Which is why I would chalk this up to the "rumor" column. Here you are.
Internet rumour that Steam (? - shouldn't that be Valve?) offered US$3m plus profit share to NCsoft. Which would be insulting, if true.
You can add it to the rumour that Trion had up the US$80m (?) to spend on acquiring CoH/V.
Valve's a big, respectable company. And it would take them a considerable amount of resources such to do the due diligence and make an offer. It'd be a terrible waste of their time to even make such a lowball offer that they know would be rejected.
And considering Trion is still raising funding from their own investors (last year they raised $100M+), it's hard to imagine them suddenly having $80M to acquire COH, especially when they're trying to launch two more games of their own. -
I think you'll be even more disappointed when you find out you actually paid 800, not 400 points, for Street Justice.
-
The Leprechaun pet may be overpriced, but it's not targetable or killable like the Vet reward buff pets are.
So it's not going to die right away. -
In my opinion, the "free sample" is already provided with the free account. I think if a player isn't interested enough by the free content they already get, offering even more samples wouldn't really have a big impact.
And if just one major feature (Incarnate content) is what's keeping them from subbing, then I think this game may not be the right game for them. -
Quote:I think this is an obvious undercurrent. Despite the fact that players are getting "value" with super packs, many players are paying for more than they want. This is obvious in the case of those chasing the wolf summon. It is from this point of view that the arguments that this sort of marketing is "abusive" stem.
I think given a choice most players and consumers would want to pay nothing for everything. -
Just auto complete it. You just need to wait out the auto complete cooldown and you can do every step while staying in place.

Why are you surprised that there are no male pieces, when the devs said there weren't going to be any.
And I'm not sure why you're saying the bundle costs more than the pieces. If you add the pieces it's 520 points. The bundle is 400. Are you not counting the three weapons? -
Quote:Who or what are you guys quoting, where there's this reference to some major change coming to Dominators?I guess that everyone has forgotten. Once upon a time the developers had hinted that there were HUGE changes coming to the dominator archtype.

It's important to take this info with a grain of salt.
Triple revenue is great, but what was their revenue beforehand? -
I believe the reason for the 30-second delay was due to a PvE exploit more in COH than a PvP exploit.
What was going on was that folks could instantly log out to avoid death. Pulled too many mobs? Wanted to avoid XP debt? Log out and your character insta-disappears. Although this could obviously be used in PvP situations, as well. If I recall correctly, it was implemented around Issue 1 or Issue 2.
The 30-second timer was implemented in this game (and exists in many other on-line games), partly because of this behavior. -
For those of you who have a borked villain skin, have you tried logging out, clearing your cache, and restarting your browser?
And are you using Firefox?
Villain skin on Firefox works fine for me. -
Quote:Nowadays, when you see products on a show, it's rarely due to an accident or out of being a fan. Most shows work with an agency that provides them props. These agencies then have separate agreements with vendors who provide them the props. Then it's a bit of randomness and luck on what product shows up in the background of what show. Please note that this is quite unlikely to be deliberate marketing by City's or NCsoft's marketing department, but instead was requested by a cast member or crew member on BBT to use it on set and Paragon/NCsoft shrugged and said why not.
IIRC a redname came out and actually CONFIRMED that with the Chuck CoV display, that it was not NCsoft putting their stuff out there deliberately for marketing display.
Except in very rare cases (the company has bazillions), the show rarely works directly with the actual vendor. -
There's a simple way around it.
In the launcher, right-click on COH.
Then under extra parameters type
-noverify
That'll skip the verification every time. -
Your experience is contrary to mine.
It could be due to some of security/fraud prevention mechanisms, such as:
1) The dollar value of purchases you can make in a certain time period. ("You can only make up to $X purchases per day before the security system kicks in")
2) The transaction limit for a given time period. ("You can only make Y # of transactions per day before the security system kicks in.")
Odds are you're tripping one of the two. In both cases, you should try waiting a couple days to see what happens. -
It's most likely a combination of how many purchases you're trying to do in one day, and the fact that you're doing it on multiple accounts from the same IP.
If you try again in a couple days, it'll probably go through. -
Are you looking for it in the costume set list, or looking for them piece by piece?
I don't think they're there in the costume set list, but you can find them if you hunt them down.
For example, try looking at boots, gloves, etc. -
NA codes and EU codes are not interchangeable, unfortunately.
-
-
I would also minimize shaking hands, as that's a common way to pick up germs. And avoid panels or parties that are too crowded.
-
There are previews for many of the new auras and the new costume set.

I like the Rez component of barrier more than the defense. I have it on all of my toons.
-
Any chance you might have a firewall running that's blocking the connections? That's one possible reason for hanging at character select.

Have you tried using the NCsoft Launcher versus the COH Updater?
