Whoah! Lookie lookie! :D
One of the characters in the comic shop has worn a City of Heroes teeshirt at some point as well.

I have that CoV shirt.

Whoa, did you sneak on the set and swipe it???
"How do you know you are on the side of good?" a Paragon citizen asked him. "How can we even know what is 'good'?"
"The Most High has spoken, even with His own blood," Melancton replied. "Surely we know."

Funny story: Someone on the web once set up a "Captain Sweatpants" online store, with stuff that had the logo from the shirt on it, not knowing it was an already-trademarked image. As you can imagine, it didn't last long.
Positron: "There are no bugs [in City of Heroes], just varying degrees of features."
BBT is notorious for having at least one person involved in it who loves this game. I think there was even a cardboard Statesman in the shop in one episode...
Also, there was an episode of Chuck where they had a display of CoV boxes.

Biggest Troll on the forums? I'll give you a hint:
A pic of Captain Sweatpants and a Freem shirt.
The following pics were originally posted by Ironik.
If you look closely you can see a CoV box in Howard's room.

Tangent on the history of "FREEEM"...the first time I came across it was the CoH April Fools joke with the "visual sounds", but the other day when the servers were down I tried a certain competing super-hero MMO for the first time. During the finale of the tutorial there is a part where you team up with one of their signature heroes to take down a villain, and I noticed a "FREEEM" bubble above his head when he was charging up some sort of big beam move.
I don't know much about the game in question so I don't know how widespread that is, but I was wondering which came first? Or perhaps neither of them came first and they were both pilfered from a third source which I haven't come across yet?

I'd suspect, if anyone had claim to using Freeem 1st, it's probably going to be the 60's Batman. No doubt it flashed across the screen at least once, when a raygun was fired.
As for Big Bang, yeah, we're all over that show.
You can easily see the COV box in all the guys rooms in various episodes. With Howards being the most prevalent, others are tucked away as to only be seen in brief turning shots etc.
Also mentioned was the Statesman cutout in the comic shop and the infamous Captain Sweatpants.
Personally, I think I've played with a few Sheldons in game over the years as well.

The first time I saw a comic book store scene on the first series of BBT I was imediatly struck by all the CoH/CoV stuff littering the background in almost every shot. It especially stood out because at the time, just after the pre-purchases of GR began and the news there would be no retail box in the EU, there was much talk on the forums (can't remember if that was before or after the forum merge), about how little retail/advertising presence there was at the time in reguard to CoX. It definatly made me smile and keep an eye out for every placement i could find.
Then it's time for them to get off the cross, use the wood to build a bridge, and get over it.

Finally the marketing department gets it, advertisement that people will actually see. Now if they could only do this during movie previews or something to get the word out more.

I was able to trace FREEM back to a Calvin & Hobbes comic, where Calvin is Spaceman Spiff.

Are those Intellivision game boxes right above the CoH comics?

IIRC a redname came out and actually CONFIRMED that with the Chuck CoV display, that it was not NCsoft putting their stuff out there deliberately for marketing display.

Lookie lookie, you got Hookie?
Please note that this is quite unlikely to be deliberate marketing by City's or NCsoft's marketing department, but instead was requested by a cast member or crew member on BBT to use it on set and Paragon/NCsoft shrugged and said why not.

Except in very rare cases (the company has bazillions), the show rarely works directly with the actual vendor.
I was watching Big Bang Theory and noticed something kinda cool on the wall in the comic book shop.
Product placement FTW!
