  1. I too gotta completly dissagree with Boerewors...ive found elec control to be very solo friendly for doms. It may very well be the safest dom to solo if you use static field. Also it is hard for enemys to do damage when they have no endurance if you use conductive aura/jolting chain/electric fences. Synaptic overload is just icing on the cake.
  2. This is the build i am working on. My elec/elec dom is currently at level 25. I have been struggling to come up with a good build. This is the best i have come up with so far.
I allready have like 90% of all the IO's i plan on using in SG storage....including the LOTG's and the 3 purple sets.
Here is my build so far.

  3. I am curently leveling a elec/shield brute that is currently at level 27. I really liked some of the things in your build but i switched things around quite a bit to fit my playing style. I increased recharge and regen and decreased end usage by quite a bit by eliminating the very end taxing leadership pools. Also i took out ONE WITH THE SHIELD and replaced it with GRANT COVER. I'm not fond of GRANT COVER but it gives you some defense debuff resistance. I have a set of RAGNOROK in dark oblivion only because i have a set of 5 crafted. It can easily be replaced with posi blast.
Here is the build i came up with.

  4. I have a level 50 brute(Devil DINGO) that I originaly IO'd out 2 years...B4 the I13 buffs and when the cost of IO's were ALOT cheaper. I still play him all the time and have respeced and updated him a few times. MY current build is very expensive. Only 1 purple set but 4 LOTG's.
It's hard to add good AOE unless you take some of the patrons...and those AOE's are not great anyway.
I skipped elude. You really don't need it except for maybe the end discount when fighting a tough AV. I just hate the crash.

    DM/SR Questions

MY namesake DEVIL DINGO is a level 50 io'd out dm/sr brute. So i'll take a crack at answering your questions.

    1) Yes...midnight grasp is definitly worth taking. It is your biggest ST damage dealer.

    2) Don't take out MG. If you insist though....Take all the ST Dm Powers plus gloom from the Ghost Widow Patron. Btw...take gloom even if you keep MG....gloom is awesome.

    3) With Dm as your primary...you don't need the health pool. Siphon life should fill all your healing needs. To be fair though...I do not pvp so i can't really say if the health pool is needed for pvp but i still doubt it's needed.

4)In my opinion Soul Drain is way better than build up. It lasts 30 seconds and with some global recharge you can get it close to perma.
Some people don't like the fact it requires a to hit check.

5)DM is the king of ST damage and i have solo'd many av's with success with Dingo.
Again... I can't really comment on pvp because I don't pvp.

    LoganStorm

[QUOTE=Logan Storm;2984173]Now that my brute has reached level 20 I can finaly start making my
Soldier of Arachnos character, been looking forwards to this for some time
and worked my buttocks off to but finaly I have acheaved it!

I didnt know getting to level 20 was such a chore. LOL

I am to assume you are going to go the huntsman route with a few non mace bane powers. Is there a reason you passed up on venom and frag grenades?? those are 2 excellent aoe attacks. Why are you taking 2 imobilize powers??
Post a build from mids on here so everyone can get a better idea of what you are trying to achieve.
  7. devil dingo

    Patrons or no?

I have a question about shatter armor. Does it cause redraw on banes or do banes just get to use their mace without having draw another mace?? If it doesnt causes Redraw...that is one sweet power.

During the weekend i was on a team with 2 crabs, a widow, and a bane....all over level 35 and only 1 of the 4 had TT M (1 of the crabs). I was kinda dumbfounded. lol
  9. Actually other than the pvp io's...its fairly inexpensive build.
My only real suggestion is that you 6 slot hell on earth and get as much recharge as possible into it. It's a great power that really helps out on sticky situations when you solo. If you mostly team...hell on earth is just a luxury and recharge isnt a big deal.

devil dingo, where am I going wrong, 'cos our power choices seem pretty similar though?

So yeah, I like your build (very cheap, awesome!), but it seems really tight on endurance (even after turning off ninja run and sprint)?

    Cheers!
Y0u are right our builds are some what similar and there is nothing wrong with your build. Your recharges are much higher than my build but my defenses are higher. I just offered you a cheaper version of what you were trying to accomplish. That was just a build i slapped together. When my huntsman is complete i will most likely fit shatter armor in too...i hate redraw though lol. On my build you can easily modify for more end management.
One a slightly different subject. I have an io'd out 50 crab with 6 pets(call reinforcements is 7 seconds off perma) and i have a newly io'd out 50 demon mm. I ran the the same AE solo farm with both toons at the very same difficulty levels and i am amazed at how much easier and faster my crab does on that mission as opposed to my MM.
  11. I gotta agree with ONEWHOBINDS. You should just go crab. While huntsman can use recharge ..that amount is very excessive....your not even close to soft cap on melee/aoe def. That is one expensive build that frankly doesnt look that effective.
Here is a much cheaper huntsman build that you can take a look at.

  12. The good and bad thing about crabs is the builds are so wide open. There are so many different ways to build them. There is no right or wrong way to build them either. Just build it to your taste and play style. Its impossible to fit everything u want into one build.
your build seems fine to me. A few things i can suggest though are

    1) 3 slot for combat training defensive for defense.

2)Put the aegis res debuff proc in supression. That along with venom grenade can really increase your damage output.

3)1 end recuction in assault should be fine.

    4) If your gonna splurge for the 5 peice ragnarok..put it in one of your main attacks...suppression or venom grenade.

On my crab I went with 6 pets. I went for as much recharge as possible while getting soft capped ranged def. I had to skip on a few powers i wanted like omega manuever and aim. At some point i will probably make a second build.
    Here is my build

    Fire/MM

In my opinion fire/psi is now much better since i15. Yes PSW got nerfed but the rest of the set got buffed big time. Before /psi was a pain to level before level 38(PSW). It is still a good farming toon and very fun to play. It still may be the best high level dom build.
  14. Very very nice descriptions of both armor types EXXAR. I have long been a big fan of ela....even before its i16 buff. Your descriptions just makes everyone realize that fire armor and even dark and energy armors need some buffs. Those 3 just don't measure up with the other armors.
  15. HOw can you pass up world of pain and anguish cry?? Those a 2 of the staple powers of PD. Otherwise its a cool build,,,bit pricey though.
  16. devil dingo

    New build

Neither earth control or earth assault have aoe's that do good damage. With this build it will take you forever to dispose of a group . Most likely you will probably be face palmed before you can defeat the group. If you don't like the melee attacks perhaps you should try another secondary. Fire might be up your alley. There are some good aoe's in there.
Also stone cages causes ALOT of agro. You won't have the fire power to to deal with the agro.
It looks like you are sacrificing alot for soft cap defenses. Doms have no def debuff resistance so your defenses will not be realible against enemys that have heavy defense debuffs like long bow and the romans. Against large groups while soloing....attacks will get past your defenses and your battles will last longer because you have no attacks that do alot of damage.
  17. devil dingo

    New build

I have a 50 earth/earth dom. I am by no means an expert but i do have alot of time vested in my dom. The Op's build is unplayable for solo. Where are your mallet attacks?? No seismic smash??Seismic smash is the best ST aattack for any dom. There are hardly any attacks at all in this build. Doms are not controllers.
Fossilize should have a hold set in it not a ranged damage set. volcanic gasses should be taken asap.
If you play this build you are not going to have a good experience.
  18. This is the build i'm working on. This is my 1st MM so i have no clue what i am doing. LOL. I managed to get some recharge and defense.

    Demon Endurance

I am at level 30 with my demon mm and my demon prince's endurance drain was horrible. Slotting just one SO end reduction has made a big difference. After my lvl 32 demon upgrade i will most likely frankenslot for even more end reduction.

Energy Aura for brutes and stalkers is equally kind of a goofy/unique armor set which doesn't really behave like most armor sets. It would not surprise me if Kinetic Melee is something along those lines, less about "OMG MASSIVE DAMAGE" and more with all kinds of ways to ruin someone's day if you're smart about it. Maybe some kinds of control, from knockdown/knockup to holds and debuffs or damage reworking.
This is exactly what i am hoping for from this set. A utilility set like DM. I really hope the devs change things up a bit and make it different from most of the other melee powers.
This i just wishful thinking but maybe the devs will finally change EA up a bit to have it as a "matching" set to go with KM. They can even rename it Kinetic armor. LOl....I know this won't happen but its a nice thought.
  22. Its a pve only toon and i like using the whips. I passed on the 1st whip attack but i plan on keeping and using the other 2.
Right now i am just carefully selecting my powers and slots and not thinking much of io's. I did notice that there are 2 pet sets ( 1 pet set and 1 recharge intensive pet set) that each give a 10% resistance buff to pets. That seems sweet to me...so i will be getting those for sure.
  23. I am a 4 year vet who exclusivly plays COV but i have liittle experience on MM's. I just never really got into them. I thought demons might be cool to play so i rolled a demon/thermal and am having a great time with it. I am now at level 30...which is the time i start thinking about io sets.
Heres the problem....i have no clue how to build a MM. I played with mids a bit but nothing looks right. What bonus do i go for??? Is recharge the way to go?? defense?? plus hp?? A bit of all 3?? To me it seems like MM's benefit the least from Io's more than any other at. Is the soulbound allegiance set worth having?? If so do you put it in the demon prince?? I noticed the demon prince goes through endurance like crazy. The Soulbound set only gives a 26% end increase.
If anyone has build or suggestions it would be much appreciated.

    Axe/ SR or WP?

I have a lvl 50 axe/wp that really enjoy playing. Axe and wp go very very well together....axe is a very end heavy set and wp helps you not worry about your blue bar. Also....axe's mitigation helps wp's regen to kick in. My build was close to a billion. I went for plus hp/regen and some defense. It probably cost more than it should have but the villian BM is still crazy. You can still make a very good build for about 500/600 million.
I love SR as well but your end management will be tough.
what you could do is make an axe/wp and a wm/sr...or visa versa. Wm is very similar to axe.
    Here is my axe/wp build.

  25. I have 2 more suggestions i forgot in my previous post.
Try to get as close to or at soft cap for all 3 positional defenses before mindlink and mask presence. Soa have no defense debuff resistance so u want to have your defenses over 60% with mindlink running.
If your goal is solo AV's....consider taking elude. You will want if for your endurance. As stated in an earler post...widows are not end friendly at all. Elude will really really help with your end manegment when fighting that tough EB or AV.
