I highly doubt this. Considering we have /Dark and /Thermal.

I want Sonic just so I can say I have a Death Metal band with my Zombies.

Really, if they didn't have a problem with brutes in Granite, I don't see why Chilling Embrace or Ice Sword would be a problem. The -recharge in Granite is going to put a bigger dent in your fury bar than any slowing of incoming attacks. Ultimately, an Ice/Ice brute is going to be far more dependant on attacking to build fury, and will balance out a little lower. That's fine - Ice/ and /Ice giving up a little damage for a lot of sustained survivability (it doesn't help with the alpha, but it's invaluable in longer fights) is exactly what was expected.
I rememr somewhere I showed exactly why Ice armor for brutes wasn't a great idea.

Anyway, Granite Armor is nigh inpenetrable. The Brute trades a portion of his damage for that incredible defense, so it's a fair trade. It's not a fair trade when your defenses are bairly on par with shield defense -and- your getting a damage nerf. Chilling Embrace is one of Ice Armors most important powers due to the -14% damage and the -recharge. Changing either of those components would weaken Ice Armor's over all mitigation.

TL: DR: Ice Armor would need a make over before getting ported to Brutes.
  5. Highly considering going for Tough to stack with my Temp Invulnerability. I see you there Mr. ITF taskforce, what? squishy? Me? lol.
  6. Try a Corruptor. Much, Much more effective in the damage catagory with the same powersets.

Blaster secondaries follow a pattern. They are all (bar devices) melee damage with a few support powers thrown in. Giving Blasters Trick arrow only makes them stronger Corruptors, and that's not fair.

by the way wheres Trickshooter when you need'em?
  7. This thread is dumb, I'm gonna toggle my Ninja Run and run away.

  9. erm, cottage rule or not, why do you want a self rez? I know some people like them but they honestly aren't worth the trouble. If you suggested something that was clearly needed for ElA then I could support this but I don't see the reason to remove grounded and replace it with a power thats completely situational.
  10. I demand a chainsaw... somewhere.

Give it to Fire Blast so it looks like I have a fireball spitting chainsaw.

Oh, wait. Yeah, this is the direction that people need to go in for this kind of stuff. However, the more 'optional' powers you have in a set, the harder that it becomes to balance with other sets, and sometimes by itself.

For instance, if each set were to get 10 powers, with 2 of them being 'optional' in each set, would they need to be of the same tier? Would you only have this extra power as, say, a tier 7 or 8? Or could it be a tier 9 on some, and tier 5 on another?
Not to be completely rude but when have the devs balanced powersets around others? Last time I checked Thermal Radiation is still better than Sonic Resonance at mitigation and Fire/Kin controllers are still out damaging blasters in certain situations.

Balancing isn't really the term to be using here. I'd use 'keeping them from overlapping.' Once a powerset has 3-4 alternatives, it becomes difficult to keep powersets from becoming multipurpose tools. Or for a better situation, we don't want Powerset A encroaching on Powerset B's territory. Once that starts happening, it doesn't really matter anymore what you pick, every powerset does the same thing.

Yeah, alternatives here and there certainly wouldn't be bad. But there are only a select few that actually need these options. Such as Phase Powers, questionably useful powers, and expecially the Forcefield and Sonic Resonance powersets, who are the least friendly soloing sets ever...

Edit: Bill, shut up and stop being rude.
  12. Remember that not ALL old content would need to be revamped. Simply arcs that aren't up to par. And even then, not all the missions in said arc would need to be altered in any way. Going through and including some of these more up-to-date mission styles into old content would be refreshing to see. So, say only 20-30% of all missions are given a face lift. I think that's manageable over a few issues. And thats being light. If I were to be optimistic I'd say 50-75% of all missions over one or two updates.

Oh and can we PLEASE bump Vahzilok to levels 10-30. seeing them own my poor level 1's *** has upset me from day 1... with crossbows! when does a doctor use a crossbow?! (/rant)
  13. Burn: Planning on (and successfuly) replacing a Blaster's boom since 2004.

New Burn is amazing either way.

  15. Just a second opinion on Tornado:

Tornado does very, very high damage over a long period of time. With 3 damage enhancements, Tornado will do over 700 on a single cast assuming an enemy stays inside it the entire duration. Thats nearly impossible for regualr enemies but AVs are nearly immune to the fear and knockback so it pervides a sort of anti-regeneration.

So, If your Robot/Storm MM plans on killing AVs consider 3 Damage 2 Recharge 1 End in Tornado.
  16. Theres a way to make Illusion look like you. Just play around with the costume creator and then when you hit 30 give yourself the sparkly aura so you look exactly like the Phantasm. Oh and Superior Invisibility plays alongside that.

    Fast leveling

level 1: sewers to level 10
level 10+ start TFs. This will net you exp and meris, which can be turned in for IO sets so by the time you hit 50 you will have a sizeable amount of merits ready to be used on IO sets so you'll already be somewhat IO'd out.

..or you could just grab a lot of LotG: Recharge IOs and sell them on the market for easy cash (thats what I do)

    Time bomb

Time Bomb really isn't that great. Not the worst power in the world.. Yeah I'm looking at you Poison Trap from Poison!

15 seconds is just brutally long to wait. Can we please get a redone version of this power? Or something else? Yeah it's ok against AVs but in all honesty, Trip Mines are better in nearly every situation. You can stack them, making them the ultiamte burst damage power when preped.

    obligatory (because I can) solution:

Make timebomb a pet that follows you around after casting it uninterrupted (like a hovering ball or something) then the next time you hit the time bomb button it ticks down from 5 to 0. Once it hits zero KABLAMO! It would be like an emergancy nuke that is hard to cast in the middle of a fight and would have a somewhat long cooldown... yeah.. I like that idea.
  19. Electric Control is a tad too.. flashy. Please tone it down just a little.
  20. Defender: Empathy/Psionic
    Defender: Cold/Ice
    Defender: Kinetic/Sonic
    Defender: Dark/Dark
    Defender: Trick Arrow/Assault Rifle (lol)
    Defender: Traps/Duel Pistols
    Defender: Radiation/Radiation
    Defender: Forcefield/Energy

    Perfect team.
  21. Dark Blast for Blasters please! Even a new Dark Manipulation would be stellar!

Poison for Corruptors would be nifty too. Make Noxious Gas affect a teammate instead of a minion though.

Oh and Energy Aura for Scrappers.
  22. I'm with BrandX here, A Brute/Tanker/Scrapper/Stalker may enjoy that extra regen combined with their defensive set more than a Blaster or something with minimal damage reduction. I'd also weigh 2 slots into Health Vs. whatever power could also use slots. It really depends.
  23. There are zero draw backs to this change.

Inherent Fitness can be slotted and can take all those yummy procs still, thus, you lose literally nothing there. When you respec the fitness pool will be inheritent and will accept slotting from level 2. Just like a typical respec all of your enhancements will be available to be replaced into whatever power you want, so you just put your IO sets back into place.

You gain 3 new powers slot that you can choose to use for set mules, flesh out your attack or just to put whatever there, you don't even have to use those powers if you really want but I'm 99% positive that there is atleast 1 power that you can take that would be moderately useful
  24. Offender: 1.A Defender who has proven that he not only does his job but can also bring a healthy supply of damage to a team.
    2. A radical believer in defender rights.
    3. A person who believes defenders are better than every other AT
    4. A person who is better than you.
